old gamer here too, i love SW i even watch a new hope in the movies when release...

the game have awesome leveling experience and the full voice quest and dialogues are NEW and refreshing

but...

i agree, who want to play a MMO that focus on your alts? the lack of endgame in the game is Huge. plus the million bugs not solve since release?

the lack to deliver ranked WZ and other stuffs that was told will be here..

so with all the pain it cause me since im a huge fan of SW, im debating between unsub or not.. because the lack of stuffs to do and the population already killed this game for me.

A couple of weeks after leveling up my Commando, my interest plateaued. But I started working on leveling up a Sent, which has been fun and a challenge.

After the final Sent mission and after I start feeling at least competent with the Sent in PvP I think I'll try a Smuggler. Or maybe I'll go really crazy and try an Imp class.

Also, I've just joined an active guild, so I expect the whole world of raiding, Ops, and Flash Points to be opening up.

I can imagine using up this game: players can get through content quicker than developers can roll out new stuff. But it looks like I have a long way to go. I suspect what will eventually pry me from SWTOR -- my first MMO -- will be trying and loving Guild Wars 2 or Diablo 3.

Re-roll on a non empty server?

Come to the Swiftshire, it's a very good server. And what I just typed is what everyone else should be doing as well. Instead of writing back to the hate posts that everyone is making about server issues, the one who are on a healthy server should be opening their arms and saying, "Come on in!!!"

The ones who are on a healthy server are mostly people that gave up like you probably did and re-rolled on a more popular server, which is what is currently making them "healthy". If not for the re-rollers and give uppers, even the fatman wouldn't have a "healthy" population.

So yeah, listen to this guy, re-roll on the fatman or zakkeg beast or the harbinger, and then in three months when the servers have been merged and those are the only three left, I can join you without having to waste my time re-rolling, as I'll have been merged/xferred by then.

To be honest, all you do is add to the problem when you re-roll on a more populated server. In a month or two when you've finally caught up to the progress you made on your first server, everyone else will have two toons in mixed war hero/bm while you're just replacing your first piece of recruit gear.

I thought it was just my guild. I asked how old everyone was and all of them were over 40.

I'm 29, and yes, I love to blow things up. I'm the guy with a powertech in fleet constant doing the death from above animation to everyone.

Still, my guild is cool. A real bit slow on some things. They aren't exactly spacebar-ninjas either. At least they get on though. Yes, younger people do not have huge attention spans and must try the new fangled game.

Maybe I feel older. I'm a Operation Iraqi Freedom vet, in the Marines. So I guess they added years to me. My body certainly feels that way.

Anyways, congrats on finding something you love than embarrassing yourself on a motorcycle or convertible and strolling the aisles of native american casinos.

40 and I love this game. I think it will adapt and get even better over time and hopefully solve some of it's short-comings. it's cool though, 'cause I am patient. I've waited a long time to play this game and I am having fun. I can wait a little longer while they perfect it. Until then, I will keep finding new things to enjoy in this game. Edited by Tomb-Stone

Totally agree. My buddy who finally got me to play had two level 50 chars before I started. They were all waiting for 1.2 and ranked battlegrounds and then hours before the patch they pulled the plug. Their whole guild basically does not play anymore because 1.2 was a total joke. I joined another guild and they folded 5 days later and all went back to wow. The only reason i'm still here is because I just hit 50 last week so the grind is semi fun for now to get some gear and smash some skulls but I really don't see where this game is going. The dungeons atleast to me seem boring, rift and wow had much better dungeon systems and much harder.

I can understand though because it's their first attempt at an mmo and maybe they will learn from thier mistakes on the next one. One big mess up is the netcode. I feel like I warped back 8 years. Maybe people are lag hacking sometimes not sure but you see people wiggle, can't hit them then they are 50 feet away.

After spending months in beta, tbh, Bioware was still MONTHS away from a proper MMO launch considering it's 2012, not 2004. In beta I remember not being able to click on a peeps name in chat to throw an invite, send tells, etc, you literally had to write out their full names, you couldn't even post links in chat, it was friggin' 1999 folks, no kidding.

1.2 features and the upcoming 1.3 LFG should have been in the games release, Bioware is sooooooooooo far behind in this game and I FULLY blame EA.

EA pushed Mythic to release Warhammer too early and it flopped because of all the bugs and the horrible balance between the classes, etc.

EA pushed Bioware to release for Xmas and we all bought a sub par MMO. A good single player game mind you, but a sub par MMO, period.

Leveling in this game is amazing and honestly the best experience I've ever had in an MMO after playing SWG, DAoC, WoW, Guild Wars, AoC, Warhammer, Rift, etc, this game is the best for leveling......but that's where the joy ends.

Grouping sux unless you're on a packed server like The Fatman, especially if you're not playing during prime time. WZ pops can drag as well.

Bioware really didn't plan this out too well. Players want an MMO, not a single player game.

The Legacy to be honest, is basically a lame gimmick to keep their subs rerolling new alts because frankly that's the most fun people have with this game. The BAD part is how it ties you to your server....and if your server dies.....you're SoL.

Here's what I'd do if I was Bioware, first allow Legacy to move with the player and give us at minimum free one time transfers (knowing we're dealing with EA I can even handle paid transfers). Merge all the dead servers.

Set up cross server LFG and cross server WZs so peeps can play 24/7 (I really like how Rift does this).

Now, being from DAoC and knowing Mythic is onboard with this game, some instanced RvR would rock imho and spice up PvP a LOT!!! Open world flopped, engine can't handle the numbers...granted, so create a controlled instance for RvR and also make it cross server.....and I GUARANTEE peeps would come back because NO ONE wants to sit in fleet with their thumb up their butt, sorry Bioware, rerolling alone DOES NOT make a fun MMO......rant out.

I'm 37 and I totally agree. I was playing WOW before this and left because of the bad community. My mother had just had a brain tumor removed and we had to move my grandfather in with my uncle and 2 of my elderly dogs died. I've had a bad couple of years and this game brings back good memories.

I play on the fatman server and most of the guild I'm in is over 35 and it's awesome.

Happy gaming OP!
