Unfortunately those specs aren't well suited for the game, even though they may meet minimum, they only meet the bare minimum. You would literally be playing at 1-4 frames per second.

A 560 ti is equivilent to trying to run Counter Strike on a computer from the 1980's. It's a terrible outdated graphics card.

 

To acheive satisfactory gameplay results you would need to run a minimum of 3 Nvidia GTX 590s in Tri-SLI. This will achieve around 30-45 fps, to get 60+ frames you would need the latest Nvidia cards in Tri SLI.

OP..donot pay any attention to this guy's post. He is making a poke at the poor performance some experence in TOR and is obvously trying to troll. My system is similair to yours ( I7 2600 and a Radeon 6850 1gb ) and I can run TOR fine on max settings....60+ fps. The 560TI is about the same as my 6850. And the I5 2600k cpu is on par with the I7 2600 when it comes to game play.

- I would spend a little extra and skip the i5 CPU in favor of an i7. It won't cost much more, will provide a noticeable performance increase, and will keep the system solidly in the "higher-end gaming tier" for an additional year-or-two.

 

- A SSD is great, but your hard drive is rarely a bottleneck in a consumer-level system (unless for some odd reason you would also be hosting a large SQL database with large amounts of random IO, or something else with a similar IO profile). You could safely skip the SSD and not see much of a performance impact at all, offsetting the cost of the more powerful i7 CPU.

 

- 16GB of memory is overkill; 8GB is enough for daily tasks and gaming, 12GB is enough if you're also going to be using the system for extremely memory intensive tasks.

Your motherboard 'is" crossfire? Do you mean that it natively supports crossfire? Even that doesn't seem to make too much sense. They probably mean you have 2 slots for graphics cards (pcie). Then again, I'm not too aware on dual graphics card setups, it should work fine as you said though.

This will be more than enough to handle the game smoothly. I'm also looking to upgrade soon, but my current PC still runs most areas of the game at playable FPS. My computer is only an AMD X2 5500+ 2.4 ghz dual core with a

Nvidia 9800GT 1GB card.

There are 2 issues with your build.

 

First, AMD Radeon video cards = Crossfire, nVidia video cards = SLI. Especially with micro ATX motherboards (which you have specced) you need to specifically see SLI if you're thinking of using 2 nVidia cards. I don't see SLI specifically stated with your motherboard. If you look at the Maximus V Gene from Asus (micro ATX) you'll see support for both. It's not an issue if you're only using 1 video card, but if you want to use 2 - then you'll have a problem with 2 nVidia cards with your motherboard you have in your build.

 

Second, if you are thinking one day you'll get 2 video cards - you'll need a more robust power supply than a 600W.

You won't have any trouble with TOR on that system, I've made very similar for a few friends and they run at max settings.

By the way, your DDR3 RAM is faster than the highest spec of DDR3. You'll need to overclock your bus (this is usually built in nowadays, called xmp or turbo or something in your BIOS / UEFI) before you can reach it's maximum potential. Edited April 26, 2012 by Sparxysparx

The 560 Ti is a great budget/gamer card that is only a year and a half old. It runs the game very well.

 

I have an i7-2600K, 16GB of RAM, and a GTX-560 Ti. When playing, I expect to see 50-60 fps, even on the fleet with a hundred players. During the Rakghoul Plage Event, approaching the plague parties would make the graphics hitch for about a half second, then the framerates would return to 50+.

 

I'm able to play with antialiasing maxed, and high detail models and textures. My shadows are on Low, but that is only because the High shadows were distracting with the (not so) occasional jagged shadows falling across player models.

It is a good card but it doesn't make sense in a new machine when the 7850 is practically the same price but more powerful. gtx670 launches at the start of may so the 660 shouldn't be far off too.

I been looking at this as a possible alternative to the ssd. i dont require that much storage anyway most of mine is stored externally except the files which i access from day to day.

I'd stick with the SSD, reduced load times and instant access to files and programs is priceless. I certainly wouldn't drop it in order to get an i7 as its extra threads wouldn't be used in games anyway, there's hardly any that even use the 4 cores of the i5. Clock for clock they have the same performance.

This system will eat this game up. Dont worry its a great system and will run TOR at max settings. Ignore the troll saying it wont.
