  1. With the mass exodus of players from this game to other games, I'm not sure there are not enough whales left in the game to make this sale a "success"
  2. I'm glad to see the steady subscriber drop has gotten your attention and while these changes are nice, they are not good enough to keep me subbed. This is just fixing a very broken and very, very unpopular system. As someone said earlier, the real problem is RNG. I couldn't imagine participating in an endgame system designed for a free to play model that's locked behind a subscription. I'' be back to check out 6.0, but as long as GC remains in the game, I'll find another game to play.
  3. I'm done. Not re-subbing until they get it done right. I'm not paying to be their beta-tester.
  4. This post right here is why the game is in serious trouble, and proves that EA/Bioware is completely out of touch with what the player base as a whole really wants. Get rid of RNG, get rid of the aberration that is "Galactic Command" , stop adding mini-flashpoints and make some moves to get new content into the game. Anything else is a Band-Aid, and if I were in charge of the team, I'd fire the lot of you.
  5. ...and that's it for the remainder of the playerbase that did raids... I will NEVER play a game based on the Star Wars IP EVER AGAIN!
  6. I completely understand, and I also understand you meant to say "SEC" and not "FEC". With that said, any media or press release by the company prior to filing their required 10-K and 10-Q reports are NOT subject to sanction. While I think we're both "right" here, the real proof will be in the SEC shareholder reports for EA's 3rd and 4th quarters. Aside from sounding like "doom and gloom" here, things aren't looking too good for the game. Hopefully the jjmovie will bring in fresh blood that will stay after they blow through the currently released chapters. With the absence of a clear endgame and no new content coming except more chapters, I guess time, and hopefully excellent advertising will prove me wrong.
  7. Thank you for the citations, however, two things you should know: 1) The information linked is from EA, intended for shareholder consumption. Need a more reliable source. 2) Linking a massively article is just thismuch a step up from Kotaku. Need a better source.
  8. OP is spot on. And, we are at the 1 month post-KotFE point, where proof of success would lie in sub numbers and Cartel Market sales and... ... cancellations are up, or we wouldn't be discussing "Subscriber Rewards" ... requested feedback on the "new" CM packs are being described as "underwhelming" Not sure what "focus group" Bioware listened to that told them KotFE and a "return to story" was a good idea.... Stick a fork in this bad boy...
  9. ^This "Means" being the obvious shortcoming. The "Classic Conversation Presentation" in Alliance interactions is the prime example. No more voice content to recycle, and no funds to bring the original artists back in to add to dialogue. Stick a fork in this one, it's done.
  10. I was wondering when someone would crunch the numbers in their own guilds, and the fanboys are true to form, bashing the OP, shooting the messenger... Look, I liked this game, lots of other people did too. KotFE did this game NO favors, and only served to reduce the population further. I truly hope the fanboys that stay to play have others to play the game with in a few months...
  11. OP is spot on. I enjoyed the game before 4.0, but too many changes here for my liking. This is the 2nd game I've invested time in that has been changed midstream so dramatically that it barely resembles the game I started playing. So with that, this will also be the last "MMO" I will ever play. It seems that companies NEVER learn...
  12. Run them story mode solo. Just pull a comp, set them to tank, and let them go to work. All you have to do is occasionally kill a few mobs, and loot your companions corpses.
  13. I guess the "sale" applied to the new craptastic packs release with KotFailE. I was also hoping the old packs would return...
  14. Rollback to pre-KotFE. That is the ONLY thing that will save the game, and also their subscription count, at this point. Not CM pack sales, not BIG announcements teased via Twitter...
  15. At this point, I wouldn't take anything Bioware would give me, free or not...
  16. I bought the 14,500 CC card and bought hypercrates of the more popular packs (Gatekeeper, etc). Moving forward, most likely the rep items will come from the "Alliance" boxes(?) or some other avenue tied into the KotFE debacle, and the armor sets etc will be released as direct sale items when the jjmovie releases next month. You all should get used to this new direction of the game... I haven't started KotFE, nor do I intend to. I've heard that you lose too much and are shoved into a very inplausible storyline with companions you can't customize...
  17. Excellent post, thank you. Communication is all we wanted. That goes a long way, it makes a current customer want to be a potential future customer. However, I have no interest in playing an internet-based KOTOR-style game. With that, I have cancelled my subscription. As I started no characters in the "new" story, I'll return when the vision for the game changes into a more player cooperative endgame-friendly experience with some re-playability, similar to what we had before KotFE. Best of luck to you, and to your new vision for SWTOR.
  18. I toyed with the idea of posting something similar as I was "warned" as well. I will not add anything more except this: Communication. That's all we want. Not indiscriminate bans for discussing information found at a discussion group your community relations people visit and post at regularly (reddit). That's all.
  19. Wow, OP! Spot on post. Couldn't have said it better myself. I REALLY hope someone at Bioware reads it. Its been almost a month since 4.0 went live, and with their "subscriber rewards" survey today, it almost looks as if sub numbers might have taken a hit as a majority have either moved to preferred or just outright cancelled.
  20. Yep, not even a month after KotFE changed the game they are worried about players burning through content so fast they are flipping over to preferred status. Bioware- We don't care about subscriber rewards. We care about playing a game with value that we feel is acceptable for our $15 a month. It is all about producing a quality product, and COMMUNICATING your full intent. "Subscriber" perks are most certainly a "carrot-on-a-stick'. Deliver us something with compelling gameplay and a level of difficulty that is both challenging and exciting. This KotFE "story" thing, that isn't it...
  21. /thread and to add, this is no longer the SWTOR that was packaged with the CE box set. It is now a complete story driven game with lengthy cutscenes and quick combat.
  22. ^ Pretty much this. ^ I also only have 3/8 class stories completed and my influence level 8 Xalex no longer has to "go to become a God". 4.0 made him God. Whatever planet I take him to, whatever my level is scaled to, whatever enemy I choose to face, Xalek takes care of it. In the daily area on Yavin, he had a champ, 2 golds and a handful of trash mobs on him and he never fell below 90%. He held ALL aggro, and any mob that broke off him to move toward me was pulled back to him within 10 seconds via his "mass pull" ability. All I do now is loot his corpses and farm nodes. So, I have bestowed upon him my title of "Darth Nox" and have given him my seat on the council. I'm hoping I take his place where he stood in the corridor of the ship, and hope he doesn't put me on bathroom detail scrubbing the toilets... Yes, the amount of Presence we have is astronomical, which is the real issue. Could be a mix of that and the goofy level sync, who really knows now... The fact that not one dev has responded to any of the threads created on the subject probably is the way Bioware wants the game to be. There's no other explanation...
  23. Just equip an empty weapon on your companion, set them to tank and clean up after them. You don't even need to bother with green gear, and they will NEVER need a heal. Makes for a fun, awesome, immersive, and exceptionally Star-Warsy and Iconic experience.
