Working as intended

Healers working as intended, healing themselves, staying alive and generally not being afraid of anything.

And my tonight's combat log from WZs:

22 deaths, 1.209 million healed, 1.198 million damage received. Total balance: +11k healing done. Success.

Is this a buff healer thread or a nerf healer thread? I cant even tell anymore.

And even if your only healing damage being done to yourself your still negating damage that otherwise would have been done to your team. Unless of course your doing something stupid like running with 0 expertise or standing in orbital strike.

Neither. It's just to show how ridiculous combat is in SWTOR.

Bioware developer: In SWTOR you can be whoever you want to be! It is your legacy!

Easpeak: OK, I will roll an epic manly profession and then choose a support class to become a human punching bag!

Seems about right

Pre 1.2 you would have died half as much as a merc/commando healer with those stats for dmg taken.

Now if you were a sage/sorc healer...you would have died over twice as much.

This is what happens to sorc/sage healers in premade vs premade fights.

And no i am neither of those Sorcs.

Bottom line is if a competent team with good melee sees a sage/sorc casting any type of heal spell in a WZ that toon is in for a very very bad night.

There's no way to kill equally-geared merc/commando or Op/scoundral healer 1vs1 for most classes, so I just leave it alone...

fixed it for you.

Sages/sorcs are very squishy.

Shadow/sins, Ptechs/vgaurds and Mara/sents and Sniper/gunslingers face roll them when equally geared and piloted my comparably skilled players.

Sages/sorc grumble faster when applied focus - in 1-on-1 situations they actually have more resources/utilities than you are giving them credit for.

I will agree with this statement to cirtain degree, They have the ability to escape but that does not necessarily mean fight back.

They can hold off a single attacker by trying to kite, CC and los healing but certain classes will **** them very quickly in a 1v1 situation.

However seeing as WZ's are a 8v8 affair they rarely are caught in a 1v1 scenarios as a sage is not the ideal class to be by itself in any WZ.

As well as the other healers by far outperform a sage/sorc healer in 1v1 situations.

The sage/sorc is severely lacking compared to the other healers and in general it is very low on the list of powerful classes.

Dont get be wrong it has fantastic utility (ccs etc) and decent DMG output in DPS mode. But as a total package in 1.2 where TTK has been reduced it struggles to keep up with the pack.

If the TTK was not so small b/c of classes like Maras and Powertechs the Sage/Sorc would be about right as it stands the real prob is the gap between it an other classes that makes it under perform.

I will go on the record and say the SAGE/Sorc healer is far more usful then the other 2 healers in Hutball for obvious reasons. But that game is not about healing or killing. Its all about Moving the ball , CC and Utility which the sage/sorc does well.

But seeing as you can not que for specific war zones its a small consolation. The other healers are better in 3/4 of the warzones.

I believe you mean equally skilled as well. I can burn down healers easy because I manage my interrupts, use CC as an interrupt, and time max burst for after stopping their large heal. A smart healer will bait my interrupt, CC me and pillar hug, and generally kite to wait for back up. A stupid healer will try to heal through my dps, be scared when i interrupt, and die.

Why I said it's not neither a buff healer or nerf healer thread is that I think the problem is not the professions or even TTK (even though I'd like to see stuns being toned down - CD timer on them is about right, but instead of 4 seconds I'd like them to last 2), it's that the "support" classes don't really have the abilities or a way to stand back and do their thing - it is really easy to just zerg focus them (DPS just runs/leaps to him and keeps whacking, having more CC than the healer (perma slow etc) - which leads to either having commando healers that just tank damage, ops running around LOS-ing and healing themselves or sages/sorcs force running away.

It should take effort/tactics to make it to the healer, not healers trying to LOS/tank 2-3 DPS while hugging pillars and hoping that his/her teammates kill the remaining guys faster than the 2-3 killing him (and they will kill them, just depends on which side does it faster).
