My understanding was it goes into effect when your current time ends as long as your account was active on the 12th. The forums are generally a bad place to look for account specific questions like this, and using the ticket system would be a better idea. I'm in the same boat, as I'm set to get billed around the 18th or 19th (too lazy to check), but I don't think it really matters since we'll get 30 free days either way. Sooner is better though.
