WHat do you enjoy about your shadow or sage in PvP?

Debating which AC to take from the perspective of having a 50 operative medic which means I already have a heal option and a melee DPS/stealth playstyle option. So it's really between PvP Tanking vs ranged DPS.

I know both AC's can be effective but effective doesn't always communicate enjoyability. And since what I enjoy most is PvP understanding what the current players like about their classes in PvP seems the relevant decision.

I wouldn't mind having a wade into the fray tanking support beast with kill capacity nor a melt faces with utility healing and CC option.

Heck it might come down to a which lightsaber as I think the call between the AC's is that close for me enjoying both playstyles.

I'd also like more answers. Got a level 8 counselor on the way and soon to choose the Ac and I really can't make my mind up :p I kind of want to heal, both in PvP and PvE, but my main's a sniper so I'm kind of missing lightsabers, and sages don't seem to find much use for them. Loving throwing debris and rocks at the enemy however :p

I have a sith assassin, wouldnt mind making a jedi shadow knowing they're mirrors but.. I have no idea how they do in PvP. I'm not the kind to go for the "most op class for PvP", but my DPS with my sith has been kinda "slow", and I really enjoy PvP , so I'd hate to pick that class and feel like I'm throwing tiny stones at a concrete wall :p

Personally the thing I love about my Shadow is being able to burst dps everybody down really fast, and that I am great against almost anybody 1v1 (lvl 32 infiltration spec atm) I also love the fact that I have an in combat stealth escape which very often lets me avoid death, heal up and come back to kill. Now I have also specced Kinetic and that build is really good as well, you will have more defence than you know what to do with and people will hate trying to kill you. Downside to that is that your DPS will suck until you start to get to the higher lvls, and get good gear to compensate and then its not bad at all.

One thing about Shadow tho is you are either going to be really good or really bad IMO. There isn't much middle ground, for this class in my experience.

If you like to be stealthy and do lots of burst dps (infiltration), or if you like to spec tank and be hard to kill then I would say go Shadow, but be patient and learn to play it as you go. To see a lot of the potential a Shadow has, watch Powerr's videos, and read his guide's. (He has them for both DPS and Tank) They helped me a ton.

If you like to heal, and do good ranged dps then go Sage. I played both and I found Sage pretty easy to play as (giving that there are really bad ones tho and it's obviously a huge difference from the great ones) and really as a Sage if you are healing and shielding you become useful to a group at lvl 14. Although I personally don't que until I am at least lvl 20 on any class.

Earlier today I was fighting some kind of BH with my Infiltration Shadow on Voidstar. i got him pretty low, but he went for the healing thing at the side of the level, putting him to about 90% hp. I hit him with Clairvoyant Strike to put me at two stacks, then hit him with low slash. I popped Force Potency, Power Relic, and Expertise adrenal. I hit him with Project for 3k+, then Force Breach for 3k+, then Spinning strike for 3k+ to kill him. It made me happy.

You can't always do stuff like that, but the burst that Infiltration provides is a lot of fun to play around with. And coming from a Sentinel, all the cc and utility is fun to use, too.

I agree. It's moments like this, that make an Infiltration Shadow fun to play. I also love being able to win when its 2v1 :D

I just got spinning strike and that moves makes a lot more of a difference than I initially thought it would!

I've got a Kinetic Shadow, lvl 48 now, and I couldn't be happier.

The level grind is a pleasure; tank specced Shadows are PvE gods. I can mow through most quests with little or no downtime when I'm using Theran (and I'm using him religiously). Most 2+ missions can be soloed with a little help from stealth. I'm a beast in 4+ and Flashpoints as long as I have a halfway decent healer.

As far as warzones go, I find myself pretty dang effective, especially in Huttball. When I'm handling the ball, I can take quite a bit of abuse, as long as the ENTIRE team isn't on me at once. I can run the ball pretty effectively, and with the expert use of Force Speed, I can usually break loose of the ensuing mob and score.

In the Civil War WZ's, I can rack up some pretty respectable numbers from defending objectives or running escort for someone who's going to capture an objective. I spend a lot of time directing traffic via /Ops while I snoop around in cloak as well.

All round, I'd say that Shadow, especially Kinetic Shadows, are a blast to play. We've got our weaknesses as well, once you learn them, you become a more effective player overall.

TK/Balance Hybrid 23 tk (one point to TM) and 18 Balance.

Very sustainable, and bursty when it all comes together.

Fezzick: I just figure why you give me so much trouble.

MiB; *groan* OH?

Fezzick; being on the brute squad I've been specializing in groups. And you use different moves when you are fighting many people instead.....of ....just .....one.

Everyone else has been talking about taking out ONE guy at a time. With my Sage set up I can take out 2-3 at a time without breaking too much of a sweat.
