Fdzzaigl
10 Champion bags for one (set) item in the new patch. Not bad if you get ~4 every day with a bonus 6 for the weekly. Still, might be slower than the time it took for some lucky guys out there.
ErnieVega
<SIGH> Lootz to the welfares yet again ill take welfare epics over lottery epics any day... Also i dont think that this is very welfare, you still have to grind your *** off in warzones. Dont be mad just because you had to gear up in a broken system, be happy that there will be more competition in pvp.
towely
As someone who just opened 22 Battlemaster bags without receiving a single token, I would like to add that these changes do nothing for me. Can someone who's good at math tell me what the odds are of going another 22 BM bags without a token, assuming an alleged drop rate of 25%? towely
Oh dont worry, it will still take forever to get 1 bit Im currently 20 bags, 3 BM comms That's within the standard deviation of expected drop rates.

ROMULOSNAKE
Champ prices cant be staying the same, or they are just giving them away. They said it was just reducing the RNG range so it will be more steady. Don't expect it to be faster, it should still take as long as the avg old system person to gear up. Just those unlucky guys wont have to deal with 0-20s anymore. ------------------------------------------- well i just ding lvl 50 like 8 day ago and it is soo soooo hard to play pvp when you have green lvl 108 vs full champion-battlemaster geared imp, i think i have open close to 12 bag and i have got 4 implant and 2 brace :s , so this great news can help new lvl 50 to get gear some how or they can add craff armor for pvp
Kazzuk
not quite; even at 7 champion per bag; the weapon cost what 72? so 10 bag for the weapon ? not too welfare imo Just doing enough Dailies to get your two weeklies done not counting anything extra bought with the commendations gained from doing this will net you 12 bags a week, for 3 evening of pvp play or less...... yeah.. giving it away. Also i dont think that this is very welfare, you still have to grind your *** off in warzones. Dont be mad just because you had to gear up in a broken system, be happy that there will be more competition in pvp. No this is welfare, its gamers who don't want to put any time in. In six months you'll be able to just roll out a level fifty with whatever gear you want because people don't want to put the time in. I enjoy the gradient of gear levels, it allows for a more dynamic environment, but people dont want that they want the best asap. Then they'll complain the game isn't hard enough or long enough, well it's because you guys are lazy. I'll never have the gear the 30 year old in his parent’s basement does, which is fine, but someone who plays half as much as me should never reach the gear level I do. If anyone wants the game to be 'leveled' for all type of gamers, than the 'hardest' 50% of gamers will eventually get bored and we'll be left with all the mediocre players. nubzz
saw this coming...actually most people did so they didn't even bother with the gear grind yet. So there are people who want to pvp but they are waiting to pvp for easier gear ..please explain the sort, the goal and the reasoning of said people. towely
Who wants to play socialist game -_0 Time =/= skilll =/= luck in both pvp and pve. It's better to be lucky than to play a lot and it's better to play a lot than have skill. No MMO is a capitalist meritocracy. They are highly structured, controlled and everyone has the same ability to succeed as everyone else by doing the exact same thing. If that's not socialism (arguably, at its best), I don't know what is.

dadamowsky
Step in the right direction. Now I'm not so concerned about nearing 50 on my alt and will I have to choose: reroll again to have fun, or to suffer unfair competition for no-one-knows-how-long. Dracyula
you should only be saving up bags if you have about 370 or more (or simply 7 items there or therabouts) champ commendations worth of champ items, you are statistically better off opening them now if you have less than that. This depends on the new drop rate for tokens.
Jaiyne
more free candy for the whining nubs,,,lol...just remember your seniors earned it. I don't understand this, given that the vast, vast majority of BM (and Champ) geared players got their gear by farming lowbies in WZs and if Empire, farming Ilum with zergs since 1.1. How is that earning anything? Further, the concept of "earning" anything by grind - and not skill - is laughable to me.

Actually, most people at this point, even those that aren't quite BM geared yet, have played against players that were, for the most part, on equal ground speaking from a gear perspective. It's only now with the late comers, the re-rolls, and the extreme casuals finally hitting the PvP floor that you see all of this whining about being undergeared. I haven't been farming undergeared players, I earned my gear fighting against people that are already BM and valor ranks ahead of me, so don't try to downplay my accomplishments simply because you made it to the party late. RedEnsign
I'll just quote and answer myself, these would be the so called "welfare epic" grubbers. It doesn't get any more welfare than farming non pvp gear equiped lowbies for weeks Princess. Gratz on your "accomplishment" though. I must ask though, in your simple litte mind did you really think anyone here would be offended by some irrelevant nobody forum jockey calling this improvement "wefare"? I'd like to think no one can be that stupid but you seem to be providing a serious test to my theory.

I have PvP'd since my toon was level 10 and am not BM yet, nor do I have full champion gear yet. I didn't enjoy being farmed when I was level 20-35 in WZs until they finally bracketed out the 50s who had zero real life other than SW:TOR. I actually stopped PvPing until they bracketed as it was just making the zergbabies fatter. That was only a few weeks ago, so really, unless people were very very lucky with bag drops in the last few weeks since 1.1, yes they got much of their gear before bracketed WZs. You still didn't "earn" anything Princess. The cold hard facts are you got good rng results. Only a complete simpleton would try to argue that. Come on, try to argue that some one who has logged more hours of pvp than you but has less gear due to bad rng results hasn't earned it like you have. I earned the points that purchased the bags that got me the gear. Listen guys, I know you're probably angry about being farmed by people that played the game more or played it more astutely. But you wont take anything away from me. You can be angry about not having gear, or you can get on the game and get it like everyone else did/is, but the only person you're going to hinder or help is yourself.
