SamuraBob_Fl
I get a lot better performance on my crappy laptop since the patch. If they just fix the random loading screens it'll be awesome.
UA_Wookie
I've had my worst lag yet in WZ's since the last patch. So, yeah, not exactly improved for me in that regard...
Miffy
It's made my game smoother, it doesn't feel as choppy but my frame rate is still so low. Also crossfire makes my UI flash :\
Neuromann
Of course, but if I am only using it for something I pay <$20 month for it doesn't make sense to overhaul everything. It makes me happy to see changes implemented that allow me to have increased performance without increased cost. I would estimate its been about a 20-25% fps increase. Those are the sort of changes that will help the game grow and more subscribers "should" lead to a better game. Lol, this is 100% false. If they had actually added some sort of a performance boost you better bet your right nut they would have made a big announcement about it. They need all the positive attributions they can get right now...
Daekarus
I was messing around on Balmorra this morning and I noticed that my abilities seem more responsive than they were before. I also did not notice any difference in framerate between having AA enabled vs. disabled. Once I got used to the new cooldown style (all of 3 minutes) I was very pleased. I understand they stealth-buffed slicing a bit too, so I'm looking forward to more revenue from my crafting skills too, especially since they de-ubered biochem. Overall a good patch! darthtoph
I wouldn't call this improved performance but ok: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK_O-coTgCg
ThiborF
After seeing all the hatred over 1.1...I just wanted to say I have actually seen improved performance and wanted to know if I was the only one. I am at work so I don't have my exact specs, but previously even on the lowest settings I had major issues. I played last night and everything ran far smoother. I guess I am in the minority that is really happy with the latest update. Worked well for me last night as well. I was rather surprised because I expected if AA was fully enabled by default on mine it would slow to a crawl. Q9400 Core 2 Quad, 8gb ram at 1333, dual nVidia 260 GTX in SLI. Not a bad machine for being 3.5yrs old. Was floating between 25 and 45+ fps on fleet depending on how crowded it was near me and 35-60+ while out questing. No complaints from me on that regard. IrotNoot
Ive seen an increase as well of about 10% id say. Older gear too. Early 2008 Mac Pro tower, 12gb ram, Nvidia 8800GT. I run 1600*1024 with everything on high except bloom and shadows off. Im usually pegged at my monitor refresh of 60fps while playing. Id say I average 40+ in Huttball and Voidstar PVP and fleet where Im 25+ fps usually. My performance just keeps getting better with each patch, a little bit at a time. In full disclosure though, my biggest performance gains came from changing the shortcut for SWTOR. Under compatibility, I set the game to run as Win XP SP3 and easily doubled my frame rates. I cannot remember where now, but I saw a forum post from a supposed nVidia engineer that plays and used some of the diagnostic tools at work to figure out something wasn't playing nicely between the game and Win7. His advice was to run under the compatibility and it works. I can't say this enough, if you're having trouble with frame rates at all and are running Win7, try it, the worst it will do is nothing. I have faith in Bioware and plan on playing for the indeterminate future. I fully plan on playing every single class in the game to 50.
Cytheria
no major ingame performance gains, but i've noticed load in times seem a little less... painful...
CVSiN
swtor actually looks like a modern game now with AA on.. and framerate has increased 400% for me. Before I was getting 15 fps in fleet, now I am getting 60 fps no problem. I have a high end system...6-core/8gig/gtx 560 ti Great job bioware, that was my biggest gripe. rofl at thinking that's a "high end system" I have work laptops stronger than that. Cytheria
I wouldn't call this improved performance but ok: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK_O-coTgCg i get a similar bug... If you find the "sweet spot" position for your camera angle, in certain spots at very specific angles you loose all sight of the terrain and your character and can only see the skybox behind it, and any other players that pass in front of the camera.. I actually used it in one case to take some pics of a guild mates character: http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/5364/samplezd.png taken from the republic fleet.... Saurakk
I wouldn't call this improved performance but ok: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK_O-coTgCg I got that a few times, but not repeatedly as stated previously but my overall performance went up greatly in regards to straight increase in FPS. Saurakk
Can someone explain to me this (yes, just an end user, not a programmer or guru lol) The devs stated: If you installed prior to 5:00AM CST on January 4th, 2012, your graphics will display as "Low" even if actual in-game settings are higher due to automatic preference detection. Workaround: Your graphics setting will display properly once modified and saved. Workaround: Individual preferences will display properly once modified and saved. I was set to have no ground cover. The patch brought it all back. My settings still say 0% ground cover on the slider. I modified it, hit ACCEPT and OK. Still have ground cover. Does modify and save simply mean reboot the game or do they mean go into the INI file and set something to FALSE?
Kingicewind
I range anywhere from 80 to 100 fps, with 4x forced anti aliasing, all high settings, and two 5850's in crossfire @ 1680x1050 I do have eyefinity (5040x1050~5292x1050), and i was getting mid 40s with the same settings as above, but until we can get a fov fix, i think ill just play single screen. Havent played since the new patch (girlfriend lol).

CNally
Lol, this is 100% false. If they had actually added some sort of a performance boost you better bet your right nut they would have made a big announcement about it. They need all the positive attributions they can get right now... What is false about it? I am just representing what I feel like is an important target audience for a MMO to succeed - the casual gamer. I don't think they made some sort of crazy performance boost; however, for some reason my fps has greatly increased and for me that was my biggest issue with the game. Something changed with the update that led to some of us getting much better fps. I just thought that should be posted to counterbalance a lot of the overreacting. Daemonjax
My performance seems to have improved as well. It could be because I'm using AA on high now, rather than forcing 2x through the drivers. I'm not testing it to find out.
YeknomStun
I have also noticed an improvement, especially in the load times when zoning into a planet. The change to the view of abilities is taking some getting used to, especially for proc based ones.
Ituhata
I appeared to have better FPS while there were around 140 on fleet, with the frequent loading screen pop-ups. However later during prime time with 240+ I noticed no distinguishable difference in the low frame rate on fleet. I'll pay more attention tonight. Supahhappy
I have gotten an increase too! Which is nice, considering my computer can barely run it as is.
