RpTheHotrod
That's between Bioware and myself. I'd just like a source and not a "word of mouth from a group of people online".
mSum
Can anyone provide an actual source that Bioware is supporting PIPA/SOPA? It's EA that supports SOPA. I haven't read anything about Bioware supporting it. But they are sort of tied together so.
RpTheHotrod
I suppose Bioware wouldn't have much say in the manner if that's the case. How about a source about EA?

They do not but the ESA does of which EA is a member, stop spreading disinformation, please. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/17/ea-explains-lack-of-sopa-stance/ Edited January 18, 2012 by MrTijger

RpTheHotrod
This is exactly why I'm looking for a source...to avoid incorrect information. So Bioware is a member of EA which is a member of ESA which supports SOPA? Again I would require a source. Thanks
Gegner
Bioware makes IPs IPs make $$$ Bioware wants $$$ SOPA "protects" IPs Bioware is silent as many other game companies are because their customers are the same people opposing SOPA. So why would you announce to your customers that you support something they don't. All that will do it cause a back lash of customers. So I think it's safe to assume that if they don't say anything it's cause they support it and don't want to piss us off.
Kookus
They do not. Links have been provided in the various threads started by Blizzard bots. Claims that EA or Bioware support SOPA are simply the last gasps of accounts created for the sole purpose of negative marketing. Most of these accounts should disappear within the next 48 hours. RpTheHotrod
I did google search before posting but was looking for Bioware supports, not EA. Thanks for the heads up. I'll start looking through EA, now. Edited January 18, 2012 by RpTheHotrod

Aieny
EA explains lack of SOPA stanceby Alexander Sliwinski on Jan 17th 2012 11:00AM 47 Responding to a Reddit reader, Electronic Arts corporate communication head Jeff Brown has detailed the publisher's lack of position on the "Stop Online Piracy Act" (SOPA). "EA has not expressed a position on SOPA," Brown wrote in the letter, noting there was confusion over the holiday about the company's stance on the bill. "We never supported so, naturally, never withdrew. We tried to correct the record but there is still plenty of confusion." "The game industry's representatives in Washington, Entertainment Software Association, has expressed support for SOPA ... OK true, EA is a member of ESA, and ESA supports SOPA, but we don't think that implies our support. Among ESA members, some support, some oppose, some take no position." SOPA is currently shelved while the House "address outstanding concerns and work to build consensus." http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/17/ea-explains-lack-of-sopa-stance/
