for the love of god someone shoot me. Vanguard ended up being good once they fixed it....after everyone left but man that was the worst i think.

Haha, I remember this. Good old 56k connection didn't help either.

I still remember Uo as the "golden times of mmo'ing though"

... some days, I just feel old

 

Actually I think WW2 online beat it with the flying tanks.

Agreed. The only smooth one I can think of was Rift, but it obviously wasn't nearly as popular as WoW or SWTOR.

Everyone was afforded the same oppertunity to do with it as they would.

Everyone was afforded the same opportunity to sit around and wait for the crashed servers to come back up, the lag issues to be fixed, or the queue to be empty. That sounds so much more fun than waiting for an invite that won't have any of these issues.

 

People come with an automatic memory filter, I think. It only lets them remember the best feelings in a situation. I was THERE during the issues with these games and I can tell you, it wasn't pretty what the people were saying. People canceling their orders, reversing their charges to their banks, etc.

 

You can read the history on these games through archive sites..even those who had fairly decent launches... Any time there's a minor hiccup or a anything..it's 'THE WORST THING EVAR!' or 'IM CANCELING MY ACCOUNT' or 'THIS COMPANY BLOWS'. It's all the same words spouted for different reasons to a different company. It's tiresome.

 

You're still going to play it and when you do...we'll most likely never hear from you again. Like all the other launch whiners in all the Games of Christmas Past.

The irritating thing here is that the trouble for launch are not technical trouble

but simply the way they handle that weird un-official release date

they are just creating a very bad atmosphere

 

there is around 1million pre-order... it is the release of swtor

you can expect making people enter 1 by 1 like the line for a hyped night club

and heard only nice comment from those at the end of the line

it's obvious they are not going to feel privilegied but screwed

 

you think you read QQ now ? Wait for those still waiting friday

 

it is a messy launch in the "self sabotage" departement here

swtor is probably one of the most polished mmo ever released
