You Guys DO Realize You're The Minority, Right?

Except alot of the bugs have been in beta for six months and bioware still let the game go live with them.

But your right, I'm sure that after ignoring these issues for six months NOW they'll fix them.

Are you sure they're bugs and not just something that is actually purposeful that YOU think is a bug?

A bug is something that is legitimately an error, like an NPC in a questline not spawning, or falling through the world...

A bug isn't something that you think is wrong with the game, like unbalanced sides, hard to beat NPC's, etc...

Even though we are on the same side of the issue, your analogies make no sense. In the "rich bat" analogy, someone bought the brat a present. We are customers who paid for a product. Not comparable. In the McDonald's analogy, while the woman's reaction was out of line, she has a reasonable expectation of warm food. If you go to a restaurant and get cold food that doesnt mean you need to change.

Again, we are on the same side of this issue, bur neither of your analogies make any sense here.

I never said she got cold food. The analogy assumes she got warm food, but it wasn't warm enough for HER. It was the same everyone else gets, but not good enough for HER...

And do analogies need to be 1:1 literal comparisons? After all, they're analogies...

Yes, we paid for a product, but we don't dictate what we get in that product. We pay Bioware for what they "gift" to us. So their "gift" for our payment was this game. To whine and ***** that it wasn't the Ferrari we expected is childish and unrealistic.

Are you level 50?

Have you done a lot of PvP? Are you above valor rank 30?

Have you tried any heroic flashpoints, or operations?

Please explain.

+1

There are legitimate problems indubitability!

Well if you do go to a restaurant and get food that you do not think is warm enough, most will give you a warmer item if you simply request it in a calm manner. And while analogies are not 1:1 comparable, they shouldnt have glaring logic holes in them either. Comparing a free gift(which you should simply be grateful for getting) to a purchased product(which you have invested your own money in) is like comparing apples to oranges. It doesnt help prove your point.

Seriously, if EVERYONE in this forum unsubbed, it'd be just a small dent. Historically, very small portions of the community post on the game forums.

So please do not assume you represent the majority of players in this game.

You, of course are correct. However, every games forum is filled with this kind of drabble from lifes .01% (the complainer). Check out WoWs forum, especially after a patch to see my point -- and its a highly succesful game.

The fact is, if you give the .01% a platform to be heard, they will scream. And in an MMO's forum scream they will.

Its quite simple: this game isnt perfect, and neither is any other. And if you compare this game, which has been out less than 2 weeks, to ones that have been out several years, of course the ones that have been out several years will have had more time to fix issues than this one has. However if you compare this game to the state others were in this soon after launch you will find it actually surpasses most of them at the same point in their development. Edited by The_Grand_Nagus

Are we? Are we really?

Are you counting the ones who will unsub without posting on the forums? Didn't think so

Are you counting the 20 people that will replace each one of those? Didnt think so.

Ah but see my point is that is a societal problem. Idiots like these have been bred by American consumerism and pandering to the whims and desires of treating them like royalty. People have begun to think that they are entitled to certain things and that they have a right to tell a company what to do with its product...

In this case, these customers purchased a product sight unseen, relatively speaking. So the fact they over-hyped it and had high expectations without seeing the product they've purchased is just stupid...

They turned Biowares image into that of a great Blizzard killing savior that would create the worlds greatest MMORPG. Once they saw the real product, instead of changing their own expectations, they sought for a scapegoat and targeted Biowares and turned the company they had made their own savior into a traitorous villain. They now have their own vision of how SWTOR should be, and to them, the only reason it is t that image is because Biowares is evil, deceitful and lying.

It makes no sense, and partially it is bred by the idiocy that is American consumerism. It's also partially bred by formation of their own unfounded and unrealistic expectations...

So like the lady going into a fast food place, they expect the product to be exactly suited to them. Yet they receive something made for everyone and thus get overly upset because it doesn't match their own opinions and desires of how the product should be.

Playing GW2

Your move

lol yeah GW1 was so successful that GW2 must be a no-brainer. LOL. They couldnt give that crap-bucket away -- and they tried. Trash heaps around the country are filled with the unopened free CD's of GW1.

I like how you think Bioware can ride the hype train indefinitely

Eventually the hype is gonna die. Just like Warhammer. Just like Rift

And when people reach level 50, and are sitting at Carrick station for 20 hours with nothing to do, because HEY Bioware thought you should never HAVE to leave Carrick station, then you'll see the subs start to tank.

300 Million well spent am I right?

Forum posters are a minority of total player base. But vocal or not they are generally the most knowledgeable of that respective game.

They generally are the most loyal, where as non-posters have a higher percentage of attrition. There is an ebb and flow of subscribers. At least that was the consensus in the better days of stratics.

But the point that all of this misses is the specific direction Bioware chose well before announcing there would be a SWToR.

Bioware has stated they are looking for a subscriber base that hasn't played mmo's before. They are looking for subscribers that think grinding endgame is "crazy". Their words not mine.

I am continually bewildered that perhaps 500 complainers really think they have that much authority.

All I can say to that is welcome to disappointment.

True, many players unsub without making posts about it...

Also, to those saying you need millions of players for a successful MMO, talk to the creators of WWIIOL, its been going for over 10 years now, has a subscriber base of somewhere under 10,000 and has been very successful.

Now compare the amount spent on each and tell me that.

You do realize you are posting on the forum of a game you dislike...dont you? Do you find that odd, in the least?

Pandas over there >>>

Yeah, we got it "PANDAS OVER THERE, GET OUT WOW FANBOY"

Please tell me where the pandas are again.

People like you who try to rationalize a games failure are the reason SWTOR is about to tank

You are fully correct we/they are the minority however those who post on forums are generally pretty good players to begind with, people who have lived their gaming life for a very long time if not from start...

They have tons of friends who ask them about the game and they will say negative about the game and thus while being the minority they are actually bringing in most potential for increasing population.

Noobs/newbies/kiddos will not go around saying this game rocks and tell everyone to buy it but those 18-30 will do so and they above all else usually have huge groups of friends who play different MMOs and could ''persuade'' them to come here instead.

So you fail if those who write on forum alot leave the game game will fail eventually since noobs will not know where to copy specc from and noobs will not know how to kill 2nd boss in EV opener raid.
