Space ships - what up

To add, a game is limited only by its architecture, not its mechanics. The rail shooter aspect of space is driven by set mechanics, but the environment is live and three dimensional. Freedom of flight can be achieved; only the mechanics need designed/altered within the architecture.

They can't. The Hero engine they used won't support it. That is all the space you will get.

 

even tho the heroengine site DOES show a demo of space combat with free flight form

but if you look at it it looks like it is on rails as the ship pivots on its axis while following a path so yeah, it looks like we are sol for tie fighter vs xwing which is exactly what pvp should have been in a SW game

You really don't know much about game design, do you?

 

Please refrain from this kind of comments. it has nothing to do with game DESIGN but with the engine itself. have you even played with heroengine?

 

Space combat is expected to be like Bungie's Reach space combat...anything less than that is poor. Personally I am surprised that Lucasart went with this rails shooter...with all due respect

 

And by the way, purposefully making your comments a bright color just to give them more impact does not make your comment valid...it just makes your comment look obnoxious if I may say. Why the need to draw attention?
