RyStrife
I'm a Commando Vanguard and I want to take the role of the tank. Are there any skill trees I can follow in order to be a successful tank? Or can someone build me one? I was originally thinking that I should invest all my points in the shield specialist, but I'm not sure. Whats the best route? TormDK
You're either a Commando, or a Vanguard. You're not both If you want to tank you'll be wanting to go down the Shield Specialist tree, there's plenty of guides on this forum already, so do check some of those for further insight. RyStrife
PVE Tank Why No Soldier's Endurance. Isn't the point of a tank to have alot of HP?
BardaTheHobo
Why No Soldier's Endurance. Isn't the point of a tank to have alot of HP? Endruance is good, however its only 1% per point, not worth 3 points for 3% more endurance.

Is Charge! really that much of a QoL improvement? Also, why no Static Field? 4% Damage Reduction is bad, or buggy talent?
qwinnet
I'm using http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801GRGrdoroTzZMsZb.1. My guild has several tanks and sometimes I dps. Taking Steely Resolve and Brutal Impact helps.
PaxFelix
Endruance is good, however its only 1% per point, not worth 3 points for 3% more endurance. I'm leveling a Gunnery Commando at present, and sometimes I love it, & sometimes I have wished I were playing a Tank, and may roll one. I reached the same conclusions about Endurance, even though many or most of the specs you see posted on various message boards put all three points in it. What think you all about the relative value of the following options for a good, solid tank that survives but also optimizes damage & thus threat management: Brutal ImpactBlaster Augs (i.e., for the ion cell damage boost)Frontline OffenseHeavy Stock All told, there are potentially seven points here, and not nearly that many to play with when essential points are cast in the SS tree. Many thanks!

I would probably take Power Armor instead of Rebraced Armor. 16% bonus to Armor rating doesn't actually work out to much more than 2% damage mitigation even with top-end armor, and doesn't help you at all versus internal/elemental/penetrating abilities.
