    Loving Swtor PvP

The game was in development for how many years? They had time. Now it's showtime and they're doing a pretty stand-up job of being mediocre.
  2. There aren't any more Battlegroups in WoW. It's all merged.
  3. Well, that other game may have had more time to mature, but that gave BioWare a bar to meet or exceed. Bugs? No problem. Completely understandable. A *********** terrible User Interface? No excuse. At all. Even Rift did it better and that game died on launch day. Breaking things (Ilum) that weren't broken? Good idea guys. Taking after the pros. Touting your breathtaking graphics and then waiting until the first free month was up and people got charged for the next before you admit you disabled high-res textures? Awesome. Customer Service reps that don't know what a flashpoint is? Brilliant! 8.2% of America is unemployed and you're giving jobs to people who don't speak English and don't even know the product they're supporting. This is just the beginning. BioWare got the full list. If you look past these glaring issues in the foundation of the game, kudos to you. If this were Survivor, you might be the last man standing someday soon.
  4. Winning the game doesn't actually win you credit. The credit goes entirely to the people fighting it out in mid. Not even a single medal for carrying or passing the ball into the end zone... So... Stupid.
  5. Nope. I've only been to Ilum once or twice. My computer hates it. But hey, when in doubt, accuse accuse accuse!
  6. Marauders are amazing in PvP. Anyone saying differently just needs to improve.
  7. Cannon fodder is great! Keep em coming. It's good experience and I mean, really, it's lowbie Warzones. Why get so worked up about it? Wins or losses you still get experience. Doing solely pvp from 43-46 has netted me 1000 Warzone AND Mercenary commendations (not including the Champ bag I already bought), full sets of pvp gear for myself and my healer companion and a ton of credits. No reason to keep anyone from doing something they enjoy. I do think that the system should prevent you from queuing until you've selected an Advanced Class, though...
  8. Not well said. He insulted paying customers for sharing their displeasure with the product. You also don't seem to comprehend what happens when you cancel. You purchase 30 days of game time every month. When you cancel 15 days into a paid month, you don't lose that 15 days. Keep putting people down for sharing their opinions. It only makes you look worse than the people you're insulting.
  9. If there's nothing new, what's the point of paying the same price for a game that's largely unfinished. There are more polished games with the same philosophy. These forums are also filled with narcissistic individuals who seem to feel that opinions and discussions are only acceptable so long as they agree with it. People have a right to speak, especially considering you have to have game time on your account to post here. You have a right to not post, or disagree or whatever. Calling people names for sharing an opinion you disagree with makes you stupid. End of story.
  10. Lots of people in this thread are going to be really surprised when the game goes dead, full-on Rift style. Sub runs out in 9 days. Hopefully something REALLY awesome comes along, because I was looking forward to this game for a long time.

    Tracer Spam

People make such a big deal about Tracer because of the unique sound. As Pyro, if I'm left alone I'll cast Power Shots all up on your healer. I can do it just as long as an Arsenal Merc can, thanks to Muzzle Fluting, but I get the added bonus of keeping your entire team from capping an objective with a no CD long duration DoT. Arsenal is the least of your concerns. It'll get nerfed and everyone will go Pyro and you'll really hate life.
  12. That the genre is dead? Yeah, that's about right. $100,000,000 flop.
  13. People were done with the underwhelming PvE content within a week of hitting 50. Then came a content patch with new bosses that died the first night. You play casually and that's great. The hardcore audience is always the ones who get left out from over-absorbing the game. It may be their own fault for seeing all the content and boring themselves, but that's how MMORPG's traditionally were.
  14. Someone who doesn't play the game, here to make up stories to defend a point he never actually made. Resolve bar is a skill cap? Hahahahahha. 20-25 seconds? Yeah, ok, well you have over 120,000 HP in WoW. Here you can get CC'd for at least 16 seconds straight and you have 1/10th the HP. I'm a Star Wars fan, but if you think this game is a good, skilled representation of the PvP community.... Oi.
  15. The days of that kind of World PvP are gone in these big AAA titles I'm afraid. These are about money, and suiting to casuals is how you make money. They subscribe longer, buy more extras, and are generally pretty accepting of some flaws, so long as their basic needs are met. They just require that they be able to log in when they want (prime time), pvp fairly (instanced pvp) or pve for an hour or two (instanced flashpoints) and log off. Minimal investment. RvR in DAoC, for example, was made possible by die-hard players and pvpers in general. The true MMO "basement dweller" all the kids these days seem to like to make fun of. Those days are dead, not because the developers don't know how to bring it back, but because their choices are: Money or Fun. Unfortunately, the great Obama hasn't found a way to turn Fun into a legal currency, so big titles like Star Wars go after the former.
  16. There is no more world PvP per se, but at least other MMO's were able to pump some life into being outside the main city. Even Rift, in all it's illustrious failures, had an AMAZING 2-3 weeks of World PvP when they introduced new World PvP quests. I mean, any hour of the day you could go to that zone and run into 20+ people. It was amazing. There's no ganking, or "world pvp" on SWTOR because, yet again, we've been given a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER world that can be played from one small capital city (ship). I've said it so many times before - I'm convinced BioWare did everything they could to avoid the 15 years of MMO PvP history when making this game. They actively took part in implementing every idea that we as a population have openly stated a dislike for, and let the parts that have been rehashed to death make it into the game into, for many, an unplayable fashion. I remember after 4 months I had to walk away from Rift because it was starting to feel dead... You just can't help it. Really sad to see it happen here, though. Edit: For the people who say WoW doesn't have any World PvP - You're very correct. However, it does have WORKING, CHALLENGING PvE content. And not so challenging PvE content. It has everything SWTOR wants to have but reliable and, sadly, without lightsabers.

    1m "Trinket"

It should just be simply: CC'ed in the last 30 seconds? Can't be CC'd.
  18. Stuns need to be removed entirely. I'm ALL for incapacitates and slows because this promotes cooperative gameplay. If you're running a sloppy team, incapac targets get damaged and the cc is worthless. Against a good team, they're making smart use of focusing down non-incapac'd targets. As the game stands now, it's not worth $14.99 a month and I spoke with my wallet because of it. 9 days left, which I'll spend in Warzones so I dont' forget why I unsubscribed.
  19. Credibility rating from a guy rewriting my words.
