  1. That's not as bad. One thing I HATE in MMO's is the whole "Any race can be any class" thing.
  2. I don't get it either. How do you get a legacy without being at least level 10? How is it that right now you either have to get someone to level 50 or spend 1.5 million credits, but with F2P you now just have to spend 350CC (Prob $3.50). The CC version is too cheap and there are going to be way too many Sith Jedi...
  3. Something you get completely for free is a bad deal? That makes absolutely no sense. The amount of game that you get completely for free is in fact a pretty good deal. Find me a PS3 or XBOX game where you can get a game with this much stuff for free. The change was designed to bring more players in as well as increase revenue. Giving everyone everything for free and then hoping they spend at least $15 a month with microtransactions buying pets or funny looking hats would be a pretty poor business decision and lead into less development and expansion of the game and THAT would be a bad deal for us all.
  4. I just have to give my kudos for such a great operation. My guild ran it last week and we had a blast. It's our new favorite operation. The fights are all epic and you felt like you were really in a battle, not just standing there hitting button combos. We have thrown in an extra night of operations just so we can do this one as often as we can.
  5. It's ridiculous that they haven't fixed something like this. I do software development and QA and yes we do have spelling mistakes that get released in our software, but I can tell you when they are reported they are fixed immediately. We do this for 2 reasons: Because it takes literally less than a minute to pull up the code or table and change it to the right value and because the mistake makes our software look unprofessional/unpolished. No its not that important, but even with its low effect rating its ease of fix rating should have put it at the top of the list.
  6. Cause now I have to wait another 40 minutes for it to be ready, . I'm just annoyed that its the easiest fix there can be and they still haven't fixed it after 9 months. Give the table to the copy guy and have him change it in 5 minutes, sheesh.
  7. I just wasted resources and 40 minutes crafting a purple Electrostaff for my companion only to try to equip it and remember that you still have the wrong name on it! On Armstech recipes the Electrostaff's are named Techstaff and the Techstaffs are named Electrostaff! This isn't reprogramming its just changing names in the database. I reported this forever ago.
  8. Everquest 2 routinely deletes (Yes, DELETES) characters that are under a certain level, have not been played in x amount of time, have less than y play time, and less than z currency on them.
  9. This is simple game maintenance. Something will need to be done as the current policy is not maintainable with the massive F2P enviroment that they are pushing for. Anyone can log in, create 20 names and there they will just sit while PAYING customers are forced to have names like Zinglewanamaker. There are only about half a million 5 letter names with at least 2 vowels (and y) available. There are only about a million and a half six letter names with at least two vowels. Over 2 million people have purchased the game. Now think about how many times that will be at least trying out F2P. Stop using faulty arguments saying that this will punish people who are taking a short break or are away on military duty. That's not what this is about. Accounts that have always been F2P and haven't logged in for 3+ months should have their character name dropped if someone with a current or past subscription wants it. Paying customers > long gone freeloaders. It will help attract new customers as well as they won't get frustrated during one of their first experiences with the game in trying to find a decent name and having every option on the name generator say its in use.
  10. You will also get a free month of game time added to your account.
  11. They should have dynamic appearance. If you go on hiatus and you log in after a few months your character should be Body Type 4. You should also end up paler and with worse complexion if you are addicted to Stims.
  12. You can also hit the pause button in the game before you leave on vacation then just unpause when you come back and finish up.
  13. I'd be surprised if it goes longer than a week, sorry. So it will probably end after the weekend or on Tuesday. Once the last part gets unlocked tomorrow (and thanks to bugs, you can do it before that) you can do the whole thing in just a few hours. Since its not-repeatable there's no reason to have it up for so long. The only thing you are missing out on is the Title (and you can get that now due to bugs). You should be able to buy plenty of items of the Vendor at this point.
  14. I would also like to know this. I also would like to know why Armormech's can make Rakata Belts and Bracers and only need one Biometric Crystal Alloy, yet Armstech need 3 Biometric Crystal Alloys to make our orange weapons that are worse than level 50 purple crafted. What a terrible system.
  15. The AC Crispin Han Solo Trilogy is probably my favorite story in Star Wars. She captured his character perfectly and his past just fit perfectly in with the rest of his timeline.
  16. This thread has been moved to the suggestion box and locked as it does not discuss the gameplay of The Old Republic.
  17. I already noticed that. Apparently you can RSVP for Gamescon and talk about Server Forums in General Discussion, but not ideas for the game itself...
  18. One things I forgot Fan Fridays You used to have Fan Fridays before the game came out. Where you would show artwork from fans or TOR dedicated websites and what not. You should bring that make. Have screenshot contests with like a screenshot of the day and people could vote for their favorites.
  19. RSVPing for Celebration VI! I'll be finding your booth before I even go see the 14ft tall Rancor!
  20. I know this is really long, but I'm not sure a better way to post it. Recent additions: HK-51: While this could be fun to get, I am afraid it will not add much to the game. Will he contribute to conversations? If not, I cannot see what this gains me. I have plenty of companions already that fill every possible role. Will he require a concentrated group effort to get? If I can get him solo then this doesn't give me anything new to do with my friends and guild. While its a great single-player addition, it doesn't contribute much to the overall game. Don't make any new space missions. There are already plenty and while I did find them fun, they don't offer anything for replayability. The space missions are only like 5 minutes long. After playing through it once or twice there isn't much incentive to play again. It's a lot of development work for 10 minutes of content. Take it easy on the forum moderation. I posted a questioning post on the profanity filter just to have it instantly deleted. I just wanted to know why the filter isn't always enabled for chat channels. If certain areas are not allowed to be discussed then you should make it aware in the rules (I didn't see discussing TOS on the forum off-limit rules). Things to add: Come up with a better system to customize companions. If I want my companion to have a certain look I have to pay to pull all the mods from their gear. Since they are wearing my old Rakata or Columi this is very very expensive, prohibitively so. There are plenty of credit sinks in this game, modifying armor shouldn't be one of them. A lot of the fun in game is customizing your character and making me grind 5 days worth of dailys to give my companion a certain look is not worth it. Housing Housing, even instanced housing, would be a huge addition. You can have collection items, such as weapons from certain enemies that you kill that you can display on your wall. The greatest thing I have ever seen in an MMO is where when a raid boss was killed you received their head or a statue of them that you could place in your guild hall. This allowed you to make a trophy room of sorts showing your guild's accomplishments. Branched Leveling What I mean by this is that currently leveling is on straight path. For each character you go through the exact same order of planet progression (altered slightly for each faction). Each planet is a repeat. You fly into the docking station and then go to the nearest outpost and level, go one more outpost out and level, and repeat. Generally with each planet you have to run acrossed it while following the same corridor path. This can be changed for future planets. Make side quests meaningful Class missions can have some dynamics thrown in. For instance, as a trooper you land on a planet under siege by the Empire. Your mission is to capture the Empire's commander. If you wish you could go in solo and try to complete it (very very difficult). What you should do is go to villages throughout the planet and try to convince them to come to your side. You might have to: Find evidence of Imperial Corruption (for villages allied with imperials), give them gifts (gathered or crafted), solve a mystery, etc. For each village that you convert to your side you get something to help you with your class mission such as additoinal fighters helping you out, stolen key cards to access new routes, a trick to pacify their pet Rancor, etc. Provide some ingame immersion and lore You have a great writing staff, use it. Put a news ticker on the fleet that has some interesting/funny 'tweets' on it: "Food Shortage on Hutta", "Massive Troop Increase on Corellia", "Group of Jawas spotted on Hoth". Put out short stories of lore or articles in newspaper format. Put the newspapers up for sale on general vendors for very small amount of credits. Get class specific missions Have a mission that requires a smuggler doing smuggler stuff. I have to hop on my speeder and get something somewhere in a certain amount of time. I have to sneak into a place and retrieve something. Bring other class roles into it. Maybe its a group mission and I need a Jedi to use a mind trick on some guards, a smuggler to slice the security system, a trooper to plant explosives, etc. Battlefront like PvP This could be huge. Make it fast paced action. We'll probably never see vehicles, but that would be awesome. Even without those we can still have Warzones that feel like its a battle. For instance one party is raiding the other's ship. They have to disable the shield generator, life support systems, and engines. Any of those in any order. Now there could be side objectives too. For instance, the defenders can activate some automatic turrets (each person can activate one). The attackers have the option of going after the turret control center and disabling the turrets or turning them against the attackers. Not necessary to achieve the objective, but it would help. So eventually the defenders have to figure out how to guard 3 objectives. Do they split up and try to defend all three or let the other two go and focus on protecting one? (Fastest time would factor into who wins too). Maybe I'll post some more later as I think about them. For now I'm still having fun and just bought the CE and another 6-month sub. I feel its like running a PS3 on a standard def TV. It's fun, but it could be so much more.
  21. For any dev - With the patch coming early tomorrow, will you be resetting the lockout timer on EC for those who attempted it only to find out that we couldn't complete it?
  22. A lot of Playstation games I pay $60 for go down to $20 within a year. I just have to remind myself I paid for playing it a year longer.
  23. Only certain species are available for each class. What class are you trying to create?
  24. Vanguard: Saga of Heroes has been running for about 5 years now with a much much much lower population. It's been subscription based the whole time too. SWTOR will not be shut down by next year.
