  1. I don't know how difficult it would be but special attacks per class while in space combat could make things even more interesting. Even more so if it was somehow based on a toons spec. Something as easy as a timer or energy bar cooldown. Examples: A sniper/gunslinger may have a longer range attack than other fighters. A heal sorc/mage may be able to target a friendly and place a force field. Tanks may be able to force field themselves. Without playing any space combat at all yet I don't know if it's already in there. I think it's safe to assume that since it isn't mentioned, nothing like this would be in place. A special attack/ability could be based on each toons spec based on which column they are spec'd in. Two special attacks per character. A tier one and tier 2 if you will. Tier two ability would only be possible if you spec'd say 35 points into one tree. A hybrid toon would have two tier one abilities such as a bounty hunter with a fusion missile(damage) and a Kolto missile(heal). Knowing nothing of the mechanics involved I could be wasting my time but it's an idea. Really looking forward to some space pvp!!!
  2. Snipers are very difficult to play. I' have been a sniper since day one and to put up the numbers that other classes do takes a lot of work. With cast times, knock backs, moving out of aoe's, los issues, then setting back up all over again playing a sniper is extremely situational. If you use the wrong ability at the wrong time your dps will fall quickly and dramatically. Which in turns can affect the next 2-4 actions you have to choose from, all with their limitations. Yes. A sniper CAN put out the same dps as numbers as the power house classes. No it is NOT easy and takes significantly more work. When I see a merc doing two attacks that equal 80% of his total dps... it drives me up the wall. Marauders are using a variety of attacks but they are still facr rolling their keyboard and putting up huge numbers. Only a few times have I been able to match merc and Maura's dps numbers, even fewer times beat. Sitting in front of a target dummy I can match them. But how many fights in HM TFB and NiM EC does a sniper get to sit in place for 5 minutes? Raw numbers a sniper can match any other dps. In practice, in Ops fights, in practical application, it rarely happens.
  3. I'm curious as to why there are no Armstech schematics through out the game (end game). There are Biochem, armortech, synthweaving, and cybertech schematics throughout all HM's and Ops but I am at a loss as to why there are no armstech schematics. They dont' have to be campaign level, or even rakata level, Columni or even Tionese level would be nice. Even as far as why 'lose weapons' do not drop, meaning no campaign. Blackhole items drop for example, ear pieces, implants that their various classes can RE and learn. Also of course various blackhole armor and in HM's exo-tech armor. I find it hard to believe that this was over looked, just curious as to why.
  4. He makes a good poiont about Armstech. WHY were there BOP rakata level schematics for ALL crew skills cept Armstech? No schematicss in ANY FP, normal or HM, NO schematics in Ops NM, HM, or NM. Not a one. ****, even a schematic for a high level barrel would be nice. NOTHING. 1.2 I see freaking artifice schematics for sale, high level mind you, all over the damn place on several vendors. I seriously hope I see some BOP ARMSTECH SCHEMATICS in the new Ops this week or I will **** bricks. All these rakata level items that everyone can make with any crew skill except Armstech does not make ANY since at all. It just really doesn't. Crit a level 50 purple for an augment slot and it will still be out leveled by rakata weapon. There must be something of value in Explosive Conflict for Armstech or the few that are left, will also leave.
  5. Go Operative. Sniper has no mobility and it really impedes many things, ESPECIALLY PvP. Valor level 70 so I know what I'm talking about. Roll an Opertaive, wish I would have.
  6. Valor level 70 Sniper. STAY AWAY FROM SNIPER if you plan on doin glots of pvp. They offer nothing in terms of pvp. No such thing as 'burst' damage and in pvp mobility is king, which the sniper has ZERO of. You will not see any snipers in any premades once ranked WZ's come out. They really do bring nothing to the table. Wish I would have rolled an Operative.
  7. I have a lvl 50 sniper as my main, valor rank 70, so I have spent some time playing. Ditch your sniper. I've lvl'd up a lvl 50 assassin and working on a BH. The im-mobility of the sniper drags down everything, ESPECIALLY PvP. Warzones are stressful at best with a sniper but I actually injoy pvp with my Assassin and BH (Merc). Well, to be mroe specific I mean Ditch sniper, operative should be fun to play. Stealth sneaky sneaky or heals but sniper... so many things wrong with it. Patch 1.2 did nothing. Everyone else got multiple buffs (not so much actual healers) and snipers got ****. I played 4 warzones last night in my full Battlemaster gear. For whatever reason I barely did over 200k damage, had 1/3 of my normal kills and died 3 times as much 3 out of four matches. I dont' know how they changed the mechanics but screw that. My sniper is going BACK to pvp retirement. Roll an Operative. Also, Engineering is a total joke. It's 'fun' but really is garbage in pvp and even more useless in Pve.
  8. Really? Worried about 2 out of 10 total Ops bosses? Don't make a big deal out of something so little. This 'burst' dps is SO over rated it makes me sick. There is no burst. To people that do not think it may look that way. You can channel a 3 second lighting spell (which does more damage than Ambush) and slowly watch the life go down. OR you can wait 2.5 seconds while you cast Ambush then Follow through ( with follow through they are about the same now) and deliver all the damage at once. Not anymore damage in the same amount of time just delivered in a different time interval. People are starting to post that sniper does not do anymroe damage than anyone else, actually less using parsing numbers. I believe it... especially in pvp. Don't let your 'feeling' towards your sniper class blurr your judgement. The story was the best Ive seen so far but after playing other classes and even having another 50, the class has serious issues and it appears they will be getting no real help in 1.2.
  9. So sick hearing 'sustained' or 'burst' dps. There is no such thing as burst dps in an ops boss battle. Dps is dps.
  10. I dissagree with almost ALL these post. I'm a valor 69 in full BM gear and sniper sucks *** in EVERY way you can think of. Snipers have the survive ability of a baby slug. While other classes of two or MORE ranged cc's we have none, and no, leg shot doesn't count for ****. They can cast at your or in most cases while they can't move they'll throw a HoT on themsleves or other heal. There is NO range advantage. Leg shot someone the split second they are in range and by the time it hits them they are well with in 30 meters, so no rnage advantage. No self healing in any way shape or form. The single biggest weakness is that damn cover. 4/5 of all your abilities require cover, cover means zero movement and in PvP MOVEMENT is above ALL else in importance. You get in a fire fight... they move 5 meters to the side, LOS is gone, you are nothing. Once your 10 secconds of bunker is used up they better be dead or you are. For the simple fact that you will be cc's before you cast anything else with such long cast times. From looking at 1.2 notes I am very dissapointed in sniper adjustments. Looking at the adjustments they made I guess they are happy with where snipers are in pvp, I cna't comrehend that. You will not see snipers in any ranked premades, we are a liabilty and everyone knows that. I have a lvl 50 assasin now and I tell you what, if you think snipers are 'good' at pvp play another class, ANY class. I also have a 37 BH, 10 times more uselfull in pvp. Play another class in pvp and you will enjoy it SO much more. You'll have sprints, heals, cc's of all sorts on a single charater, leaps, pulls, various escapes, MOBILE knockbacks... the list goes on and on. Sniper has NONE of these key items. Better dps? SHOW me the numbers. Burst dps? LOL No more than anyone else. It's 'burst' because of long cast times but it is NO MORE. Channel lightning or 2.5 second Ambush, same damage only delivered over time in a different way that makes you THINK it's more. One the life goes down slow and steady the other all at once after a long period of nothing. I play my BM sniper in pvp today after playing my no gear assasin for the last week and... I can't go back knowing how bad it really really is. Being literally man handled by every class out there and you just have to take it. I like my sniper in pve and he is my main, but pvp no more.
  11. Armstech: I am curious if any 'end game' BoP schematics will be added to exsisting or new FP's and OP's? I am at a loss as to why all other crafting crew skills had BoP schematics in FP's and OP's (end game) and armstech did not. Even if the items made were BoP they were good and in some cases best in slot if critted.
  12. I remember watching the guild summit and one of the presenters said that some classes were not where they had wanted them to be. Looking at the current 1.2 notes, subject to change I know, I see little done in the way of Snipers. I can go on and on about things I think need changed but that is only one opinion. Sniper is great in PvE but seems very weak in PvP. I was hoping for a few changes but the one thing I thought would be the most fair would be some sort of ranged stun. Seems as though many if not all classes have a ranged stun that last up to 4 seconds. I can ramble on and on about things I think could/should be changed but that is the voice of only one person. With so few snipers out there, I wonder if Bioware knows of the delema because there would be so few complaints/concerns. I for one know that I haven't made any official complaints, I just assumed other snipers would. Maybe I should have said something... On a side note, Legacy looks fantastic!
  13. Lethality seems to survive better for one single reason. In PvP, mobility is king. That is the number one HUGE drawback of MM. You can do all the damage in the world (lol, we wish) but it does not good when they guy moves 3 meters to his side and there is no LoS. Done, no dps. Lethality lets you keep moving, like EVERYONE else is. So you can kite, or chase a person, like everyone else is. I've played both spec's a lot. Although I'm well into BM gear now I have not yet tried lethality. I like both spec's, they are just different play style is all. By like I mean I like the class, it is still by far the weakest pvp class in the game, any spec Sniper. In a 1v1 with a sniper vs anything, I'll bet anything each and everytime. Maybe since I'm about half BM gear now through TONS of absolute frustration I'll give lethality a try and see how it is now.
  14. I must say though, that the 2 set bonus for Snipers PvE gear is a bad joke. Ten energy every 2 minutes? That isn't even enough energy for a single snipe, lol. In pvp I see no reason for an extra 10 energy every 2 minutes. Odds are you will be dead in a 1v1 anyways and 10 energy isnt' going to help you. I'd stick with the extra (and do) expertise. I do see a lot of the other classes using the two different set bonues to great advantage. Especially with the healers. Just not so with Snipers, the 2 set bonus is very weak with the PvE gear.
