they worked out a solution..its just a solution you dont want so therefore not a solution to you..but a solution to many many more.... theres always someone hurt in a compromise... even if it is a slightly bit more hurt than everyone else... this compromise hurts people, but its still a solution

oh dont get me wrong..i think its dumb too.. really dumb.. but we as consumers can only do so much.. and though everyone says vote with your wallets.. i know first hand coming from a cs position it really isnt that influential:P but if you like the game ( im a huge pvper too btw:P lovei t but ihavent pvped in like 2 months cuase no one on tarro blood) ive gotta move..so i will. ill lose my characters but thats teh way the ball rolls..ill accept that to play the game i like..if at asometime in the future i hate the game.. or find something better ill leave.. it would be nice to have someone else to pvp twith tho:P come to whatever server tarro gets transferd to and start over:P

you were giving a choice to move or not.. sorry it sucks but you can stay on your server.. and wait and transfer to somewhere your name isnt taken. you are just upset, and rightly so that your server wasnt a destination server. and becuase of that you... not some other unlucky guy lost his names... its a double standard alot of people are willing to tout on these forums.... do it to him not me... sorta feeling.. the same thing happened when the australian players wanted the times changed for maint.. alot of NA players said they would support the change over to make it more fair, yadda yadda.. but the moment bioware tried it the forums were flooded with NA players complaining about the downtimes.. people dont even realize they are doing it, the introspection to see that they are being unfair even while being treated unfair is a hard concept to grasp and i do not blame anyone for failing to grasp it.. my wife says i have that problem with my children all the time, so i can relate and sympathize. if you are unhappy with the content of the game. by all means stop paying and stop playing,, if you are unhappy that your name was forced to being changed for whatever reason, atleast try and look on the bright side and see that they FINALLY addressed the issue and have a fix that seems to be mostly a good one. again not fair, but no one said life is fair. the only fair concept is death..it eventually takes everyone. until of course i can transform my body into a robots and walk around like a terminator...but thats a bit off still

I never asked you to stay subbed.. i refuse to do that.. i believe that the moment you hate playing the game is the moment you shouldnt log in.. apparently your name is so important to you that it means more than having that connection with your friends.. which is your right compeltely.. however.. if you accept the roll of the dice or not.. thats the situation and something you have to deal with..its called real life. when i was in the military i didnt want to nearly completely destory my shoulder and lose my military career.. b ut it happened, roll of the dice. I didnt want one of my friends to be shot in the head.. roll of the dice. it sucks, but life isnt pretty. life isnt easy.. and if renaming yoru character is the easiest way for you to learn that life isnt going to always land your way and in your lap.. then you are one lucky man.. alot of people learned it alot harder ways. i hope wherever you go you find a game you enjoy and it meets up with your standards and requirements.. eveyrone should be happy with something they pay for. good luck and have fun.

itsi mpossible for someone to work less hard to get the legacy.. and yes.. i said it sucks.. really badly but the case is .. someoen has to change his name and you drew the short straw..it sucks alot. either you wait and transfer out and miss out playing with your friends who wont be friends with you if you have a new name...or you transfer with a new name and hope your friends arent silly enough to ignore you for having a new name..or you unsub. either way. its nothing that is going to affect me.. but i think you are being unreasonable, not because you dont want to change names.. but because you cant see that it was a roll of the dice and you lost....im betting you arent a gambling man... you gambled when you switched servers.. a completely optional thing to do.. .and you rolled craps.. now you want the guy who won the lottery to give you all his money.. the world sadly doesnt work that way.. wish it did. because i am sure i will lose all of my characters names, as well as legacy name.. and i am not happy about it , but it is the way the dice rolled.

the other guy who has that legacy name.. did he work any less hard? did bioware just GIVE him hsi legacy name?? consider it from a less selfish point of view.. and you will see you are being unreasonable

but its a choice You CAN make.. and if you want to join your guild then change your name.. accept it as a pain in the *** that bioware caused you to do. learn from the mistake of trusting bioware and go back and enjoy playing with your friends.. on a side note however.. why in the world do you think your guild wouldnt transfer over? you said yourself in order to pvp theyd need to.. you seem to be graspign at reasons to complain about this already ****** situation

i understand you want the names back.its logical.. but besides the legacy name ( which takes leveling) what effort did it really take for you to find a couple of names, and put themi n the game and see if they were taken, if they were wash rinse and repeat till a name you had chosen got through. its not like you were solving differential equations in order to make a character..its hit and miss. the legacy yes i agree with.. you had to work to get that, Id have liked to see a more stable way for people to keep legacies.. but remember ..if you had to work your butt off to get a legacy name... someone else had to as well. and by your admission, you really couldnt care how much work someone else put in to get THE same legacy name on THEIR server.. only that you lost yours.. the problem isnt that people lost names, they did, tis unfortunite. it sucks and i am about 90% sure i will lose all of my names and my legacy name whenever i FINALLY get a transfer.. but the problem is that people are not considering that this OTHER person that took YOUR name, had it on a seperate server, and got lucky, roll of the dice lucky... it isnt there fault, but you are trying to basically make them take the burn instead of you i wish bioware could have come up with a more 'fair' way to sort out the naming convention for transfers, but sadly this is the way they decided to go. it isnt the best system, but its the only system we have.

I would fully agree on either character creation date, OR the date the person signed up for the game.. early access granting basically.. if you go by early access, then it really is no different than allowing everyone to 'rechoose' their names like when we first created the game.. the earlier you gained access then the more preference you have now sort a thing.

as much as a ghos server as your old one would be.. no one is forcing you to switch if you are that dedicated to your name..wait and get a transfer to a server that has that name avaliable later

I am quite active, i have a level 15 that i do not play currently due to the fact that i got absorbed in the other story line of my other character..it by no means says that i am abandoned my character or that i dont or wont play it and i had early access as well. id be pissed if they took my characters name away because you happened to have a higher level character than me... bt well.. people want everything and they simply cant have it.. im sorry you wont get your name. you could always stick around your primary srever and wait for paid transgfers and move then

this.. i agree with fully sadly I think part of the peoples issue with name changes is they feel they are being screwed becasue someone else gets to keep the name and they dont...its a perfectly valid feeling to have, b ut just because it is valid it doesnt mean its a good feeling to have. if someone is mad because they are losing out, well join the club, alot of people are losing out here. hell some of us havent even been transfered yet, we are waiting patiently and by the time WE get transfers, there is even LESS chance of us getting the names we want.. and yet.. Ive never complained about it once... i realize like this poster said.. my characters name does not fundamentally change my character, it is less important than getting players to rp and play with. its a give and take, and though it might not be fair that people get to keep a name and otehrs dont...tis the system we have to work with the ONLY way it would be fair is if everyone destination server included were forced to on a set day and time, reset their names, first come first serve to pick the names they want.. if its gone on your server its gone.. that however is just to much work for bioware to have to code, so they went with this system. which though isnt fair, is about as good as we can get

now is the reason why you wont transfer because you are attached to the name..or is it a you think you deserve the name because you were early access and this person is only level 12.becuase i have a couple of characters that are low level, that have been low level a long time. yet ive been in on second day of early access too just because the character that has your precious name is low level it doesnt mean they are a new character.. if you are looking for special consideration for being early access, you have to consider the fact that that level 12 character might belong to an early access player as well
