  1. The ability to create legacy family portraits to use both as decorations and our own personal splash pages replacing the default at game launch. More of those cool landing cinematics for each planet in the galaxy.
  2. I found this post while searching to see if anyone beat me to this point. I wholeheartedly agree with this suggestion and ask that you seriously consider it. Thank you.
  3. Strangely, my Group Finder Tool does not allow me to queue for Flashpoints. I can queue for planetary destinations, but all my Flashpoint options are greyed out despite being lvl 19. I was able to group up for Black Talon once, and nothing after. I've asked around and no one else seems to have this problem. It's very strange.
  4. You had me until about half way through. It sounded just lame enough to be true. I thought I was back in Star Wars Galaxies for a second.
  5. I know there's a way to set program priority on a computer so that, say, a Skype message or a system alert or some other pop-up doesn't switch you out of the game. But I can't recall off the top of my head what it is? Anyone? There's nothing quite like getting swapped to the desktop by a virus scan in the middle of a fight.
  6. Meanwhile, back outside Nerdville... Apparently, nobody cares, not even the nerds at BioWare who get paid to be nerds.
  7. Who are you people demanding more content before the game has even launched? Where do you come from? Who pays your bills? Are you employed? Devs say it takes 200 hours to hit the lvl cap on average. There are eight classes with their own stories, each with two advanced classes with three skill trees to explore. Even if you only do one alt, that's a minimum of around 400 hours of game time. And you're looking for major content additions in the first patch? You can't even get through the content they have in that time.
  8. Makes a huge difference in my book. The focus on character, story, and cinematics takes what is otherwise a tedious list of chores and gives it purpose.
  9. Ditto. Can't say I noticed. Turns out I don't size up kids.
  10. I will pay provided the queues disappear before my first payment. I'm not paying for a game I can't access.
  11. To everyone arguing that LFG keeps you from hand-picking your group, I ask how? Because it occurs to me that you can still sift through the who list for hours looking for the perfect group. If anything, letting us unsophisticated yahoos use LFG should improve your odds of avoiding us. Why argue against the option?
  12. Standing around spamming for an hour like a dirty panhandler hardly makes for rewarding and interesting gameplay. That's the whole point. People want to access the gameplay, not run an Occupy Coruscant simulator.
  13. Exactly. As it stands, there is no incentive to chat in group, or to maintain relationships past the dungeon of the hour. It's like an MMO orgy, a bunch of one night stands. The question is, is that good or bad. I, for one, think it's great that the game is designed in such a way that groups can instinctively progress through dungeons without a lot of chit chat. Community is great and all. But the game shouldn't force it. The onus should be on you to form community. The rest of us came to play a game. This isn't a $60 chat room.
  14. Laziness applies to work. This is a game. It's not supposed to feel like a chore. For MMOs to break into the mainstream, they must be accessible to the casual player. Running a dungeon (which a agree heroic quests are) in under two hours all things considered is not unreasonable. Ensuring that more people enjoy the game and stick with it benefits everyone who plays the game.
  15. This discussion is fascinating. I view this early game access as a bonus and don't buy the argument that anyone is being cheated here. I'm sure the terms of service, which everyone agreed to without reading, have a provision covering this. After all, they can't guarantee game access. That said, even if we aren't being cheated, we are entitled to our opinion of what makes good business. While I think a lot of threats to cancel pre orders are empty (obviously, if you're upset about the queuing, you want to play the game), I do think people will refrain from subscribing if this continues past launch. Queues are a deal-breaker for busy adults who play casually, the bulk of players. Most of the time, I only have a couple hours to play. Queuing really cuts into that, often preventing play entirely. This must be solved post haste.
  16. Just received email. I'm guessing its part of the third wave for 12/14 even though that wave has not be announced yet. Otherwise it took an hour for a wave two email to reach my inbox. I redeemed my code on 9/8. See you in-game!
  17. This should be a locked thread. We should be able to see official updates, not complaints and troll spam.
