  1. +1 to this thread. I already feel like there are too many tiers of everything gear related and it's hard to make sense of it without alt-tabbing my game and looking it up somewhere else.
  2. I'd love to see more planets but I want them to hire a new contractor first because I'm so tired of all the buildings/space ports/caves/building tiles/fleets and everything being exactly the same on every planet and on both factions. There's no point in new planets if they're just going to look like everything else.
  3. I get made fun of all the time by friends who laugh at the Tele rock throw.. And often asked why I didn't play a Sith because of the lightning. I don't know that I'd want to see little rocks replaced with bigger rocks but the point remains. It's just a terrible animation to begin with and needs some kind of change. I'd personally like to see jolts of "blue/white electric" going rock to rock as we throw them.
  4. I have no idea why my Consular has a light saber. I really can't figure out a reason why. It's a Jedi, that has a light saber. That never, ever uses it. When I run out of force I can run in and just whack the (monster/boss/thing) but you do so little damage with it you might as well get rid of the saber and punch the guy. It would be just as effective, just less pink and glowy.
  5. The Lesser's outfit is kind of ******. I'd love to see that in game. Anyway, on topic - the general game play being geared toward male enjoyment as far as SL's and whatnot go does get a little annoying by level 50. I've played through my class with some of my male friends in my group and I constantly get to hear about their flirt options, their lady companions, their romances.. Staring at their ladies in Slave lady gear. I get it, the majority of the people playing this game are men. Perhaps not the vast majority that everyone seems to think - but yeah. I also get that men like staring at half naked women. But maybe girls don't want to stare at half naked girls, or maybe they want to be included on the hilarious flirt dialogues. I know they spent some time on female players options, but it really, really feels like a huge after thought. The Consular romance companion sucks. His story ( all aspects of it ) is hugely lacking. It feels like they just forgot to do it 'til the very end. There is a huge imbalance in the game as far as equal gender treatment goes - but I can say that they're doing more to appeal to both sides than any other game out there. Just hire some (more) female writers and let them set you guys straight for us.
  6. I think that there is already a social aspect of this game that has itself rooted in the community. People chat. Our War Zone groups are all inter-server. The people we dungeon with are all on the same world. You see randoms in all the same quest areas because all of us are leveling mostly together. So all of us are going to have that social aspect of the game with us for as long as the game's around. But people who come in 6 months from now? Wont. They won't be a part of this million+ person leveling orgy to 50. The social part of the game that we're clinging to won't exist for them. When we hit 50? There's little reason to go back to the old leveling zones. Which is why I feel like we do need a cross server LFG tool. Not a massive cross 10+ servers tool. I log in every day to different zone chats that are all spamming lfg. Without something to better connect us - in any regard, no matter what it is - for group content with a simple interface, it just gets skipped. And it's more socially alienating in the long run to individuals to have to skip group and flashpoint and zone content than it is to have a cross small server lfg feature. People can't find groups. They're just going to zerg to 50 in the future and skip as much as they can.
  7. Man. The flirting dialogue is the most hilarious dialogue in the game! I hate that as a female character I don't get the chance to abuse it as often as all my friends playing male characters do. More than half the time they get the chance to talk to a femme npc, they get to flirt. I am so jealous! I'd re-roll to a male character if I felt like looking at their flat behinds all day but I just don't. So I'm stuck with only occasionally amusing chat options and little to no flirting, and hoping they win rolls instead of me.
  8. You have to target the area you want to pass to.
  9. That wall is such a *********. :/ I was pretty surprised I didn't get slapped with a leave penalty when it kicked me, though. As much as it would piss me off to get a penalty for getting kicked out because of a glitch I hate seeing leavers ( and afk'ers.. )
  10. How will that discriminate against the people who don't want to leave but get stuck behind the respawn wall and their timer runs out before the wall lets you through? Because that happens. I watched three other people and myself get kicked out unintentionally because of that glitch or.. Whatever it is.
  11. I do really wish we had world PVP objectives of some kind. Or world objectives that didn't involve just killing the World Boss. Unfortunately the reward for this stuff would just be more commendations for more gear and the game is intensely gear and commendation saturated already.
  12. There's a thread around this forum.. Somewhere. That has a whole list of things like this to improve your game! I disabled my Aero theme a few days ago and my lag in War Zones is mostly gone. Great fix!
  13. I know on K. Spider there are roving groups of Imps who run around for World PVP. I think it's the same for the Republic? I'm not sure if we do that or not. It may just be your server too. I see plenty of World PVP. You should be glad it doesn't happen when you're leveling, though. Spawn Campaing is rampant.

    A Huttball Edit?

I figured I'd broach this topic here before thinking about it myself any further but we all know Huttball. You get the ball, you pass the ball, you push someone into acid and call their mom a cow. I generally like it - it's a really creative War Zone. My issue is the passing skill. I know some people have it down pretty well but we can't divide the game into people who know how to pass/where the pass skill shows up/etc. My thoughts are pretty simple on this, as follows. What about making the pass "skill" part of the interface instead? Like a little thing will show up just above your skill bars that you can click to use to pass instead of it being an actual skill. I started thinking about it when I was in a game and I realized the pass skill didn't show up on my skill bar ( any of them, including l/r bars ) and I had the ball. I wanted to pass it, and I couldn't. In my other games it showed up on the left skill bar.. I'd say about 70% of the time? This isn't about it "being too hard" or whatever - It's just about making it so that the option to pass is there, always. There's no scrambling to find it in your skill menu when it doesn't show up on its own, etc. It would still function the exact same way, including a keybind - it'd just.. Be part of your interface instead of a skill.
  15. ~Level 36 Sage. There must be a massive, Jupiter sized mark over my head that I can't see when in PVP because I get focus fired like crazy! To my PVP friend's amusement. " I don't want it! GUYS I DON'T WANT IT!! " Dead. But! When I have a team that recognizes that I'm a healer and that I am trying to valiantly save their lives with bubbles and purges and heals and cc'ing that Sorc that's ****** them with lightning ( why is there so much lightning?! ), I've found that I can be a very effective. I've gotten MVP several times just for the heal output alone. I'm not even that great of a pvp healer, still learning for sure. But I think people value it. There's apparently a healing debuff? That I haven't noticed at all. We do just fine in spite of it.
  16. I just like hitting a button or using a skill and knowing it's going to work. Bad responsiveness in other games is why I quit them. I am finding that I have to mash the heck out of my keys to get skills to register and go off. It's really frustrating. In PVP it's the worst. And things like DFA, Force Quake, Morter volley, etc.. Keybound and all - they don't go off half the time I use them after selecting my targeted area. It's like the game forgets that I was targeting that skill to actually use it. I am begging the bug team to devote some time to fixing the responsiveness issues in this game. I have done everything on my end possible to improve my computers performance, and can go no further. Another responsiveness issue I get is getting knocked down and then not being able to get back up unless I physically turn my camera and start "walking." This seems.. So strange to me that the game doesn't put you back on your feet when you come out of that debuff. It lags so hard too.
  17. I don't mind the no bracket stuff at the moment. I tried a few war zones and lagged to death anyway so I can't say what I'd be capable of doing ( except casting a few stray heals ) against higher levels anyway - but I like the idea. I can say, however, that I'd like to see a Level 50 or 45-50 bracket only. I was told by a friend that there was word on a 50 only bracket in the future, when more of the population hits it, but they aren't around right now for me to bug them about sources. I know that when I hit 50 I want to be on a level playing field with other 50s, in comparable gear. By then I hope to have a better computer and I want an equal, fair challenge with gear, skills, all points spent, etc. If I stomp someone, I want to know we have all those same opportunities available to us.
  18. No one wants this to become a second WoW. No one wants any other unique game to become WoW all over again. They just want the features that worked really well for them to come to a game they are currently enjoying more. They want to make it better for the community. The only thing that will really hurt this community is constantly shooting down every idea that WoW has, that's worked, when people want to bring it here. It's still a MMO. You still need groups to do things. Finding those groups is not always going to be this easy. WoW is a unique game unto itself. Nothing ever done here will turn SW:ToR into WoW 2.0.
  19. I read yesterday that they didn't have any plans for it. Could you point me to where the devs said they were going to add it eventually? Not being an *** - just genuinely curious so I can spread the word. I know it's hard to find posts though. To RachelAnne - I am disappointed that you don't realize half the features he suggested that you just mini-raged about are going to be implemented. Some games do things right - and there is nothing wrong with taking those RIGHT things and adding them to other games. In the future the lower level areas ( read: below 50 ) are going to be very barren. That's what happens in all MMO's. It just does. It's a side effect of progressing. The new characters get left behind if they don't make during peak creation times. To immediately write off features that help prevent isolation because another game did it is not the way to handle things.
  20. Customizable UI is coming, as are Combat Logs. The former is said to be a ways off ( I don't know what that means, exactly, since we are all new to this games patch schedule ). The latter should be sooner. I second the LFG thing, too. Right now it's somewhat easy to put a group together if you're on during peak hours. But just past those ( flashpoints being the hardest to organize ) people are spread out through zones and asking on all different planets. I'm pretty chatty so I get people on K. Spider talking a lot, and haven't had any trouble at all so far. But I forsee it being a real problem once we're all out of the leveling zones - what are all those little newbies gonna' do?
  21. They plan on adding "neutral" type gear in the future. I'm not sure why it wasn't added with the other gear - but yeah. It's coming - just not next patch. It seems like the next content patch is going to be on the smaller side. Kind of leads me to believe they plan on doing smaller updates more frequent than huge updates less often. Hopefully neutral gear gets put into one fairly soon because like you ... When I first played I picked choices based on what I thought was right in my story/to my character. And wound up perfectly neutral. I would dig up the posts regarding this if I could search.. Tried to grab it from google but no luck. Too many posts to find the right one. Another way to look at neutrality is to call it "questionable ethics" instead.
  22. Space combat is an amazing time killer and doing the little missions is fun to do while waiting for friends to catch up or do whatever they're doing. The mission rewards are pretty hefty for exp rewards, too. So they're nice to have if you are the one needing to catch up to your friends flashpoints/heroics. I don't think it's meant to be a major focus of the game but for a beginning system - if they plan on expanding on it - it's really great.
  23. You must have missed it when I used the force to move a crashed space ship. Bow before your Jedi Goddess. I admit that I do miss my big ugly Consular Companion. His grumpiness was pretty amazing.
  24. Mm. Fresh blood on the PVP servers. We should see a steady stream of people coming into the game for the next ~2 weeks. Holiday gifts will be given - and family time will take away from some game time. But they'll be here!
