  1. I've read that leveling as the tank spec is actually very viable and easy. One big bonus is that the tank spec gets their 2 main attack upgrades early on, while the other 2 dps specs rely on abilities and talents that don't come until the late 40's.
  2. I wonder if IGN said the same thing about the WoW 90-100 combat? I'm going to guess no. Not to mention WoW's mobs in dungeon hallways that stand there and wait to be killed. I'd expect hard mode flashpoints, ops, PVP are for challenge--no real depth on these at all. I certainly would not say SWTOR is perfect, but it's not being graded on it's true strengths and weaknesses. It's just contrived stuff. Leveling is supposed to be easy--this is MMO 101 stuff guys--especially so new players can do it. There is nobody stopping you from dismissing your companion--or setting it to DPS or tank mode.
  3. Perhaps but the State Of PvP// Server Research thread at the top of the SL forum pretty muh says Imps dominate unless you run with a premade.
  4. And one of the reasons Lhancelot gives is factions are reasonably balanced. I doubt you can say that about JC or SL. I'm pretty sure both lean heavily Imp. I don't know this firsthand, but that's what I've gathered from reading forums. It's also why I rolled on TEH,. I can't verify for 65, but pre 65 I have seen a pretty even split.
  5. I haven't had any luck with finding a guild via recruitment section. When I log into the game and /who the people that have tried to recruit me, they usually have like 4-5 people. I just want to find an active community of friendly, fun, respectful, mature people that do PVP and PVE -- with around 20 or more people on at prime time. The faction doesn't matter. I'm a long time MMOer since DAOC, SWG, and Vanilla Wow. I haven't gotten into SWTOR endgame, but I'd like to--but not really hardcore.

    Devs this is it.

I wanted to like GW2, but I love healing--and GW2 has no healers or tanks. So, it's not for me. I personally think SWTOR just needs to have cross server PVP (and flashpoints) and be more active in class balancing. Cross server is a technical challenge. I'd also be concerned about latency depending on the physical server location--i'd prefer a mid US server to bridge players from East and West--or have 1 East Coast megaserver and 1 West Coast megaserver. Bottom line, I don't want West Coast ping.
  7. What I'm reading is Pub sucks on Harbinger most of the time and in ranked. Ebon Hawk is even--but has a lacking population. I not leveled past 40s because I"m not sure where to play either. I'd go Harbigner, but my ping varies from 90-150 there-and that's kind of bad especially for any melee. Ebon Hawk is where I am now, and it's 20-35 there--but queues are kind of long in low and mids. There don't seem to be many/any large PVX guilds here, so I'm concerned about population. I wish East Coast had a Harbinger size server instead of a close to even split across 3 servers. What to do...
  8. I am returning to the game after a few years. I enjoy healing, so I'm trying to settle on a healer to main. From what I've read: Sage has bubble and can better protect against burst. Easy mechanics. Scoundrel has sustained healing castable on the move (via hots) and stealth, but it seems like weak vs burst. Tracking and maintaining hots and Upper Hand kind of sucks. I know little about commando, except the green "HEALER HERE EVERYBODY" love beam seems awful for PVP--no idea on any real benefits. I did watch a commando DPS pvp video today, and it looked pretty fun. So, from reading the forums, I can easily read that sage/sorc is "best", but I'd like some help from those that have played the game for awhile. How far below sage are the other two? Why is sage top; is it just the bubble or also other things in toolkit like cc? How do they rank in PVE? And finally, how effective and fun (yes I know subjective) are each of these healers' damage specs?
  9. I have this same problem. As preferred account status, I had it happen several times, and then I grouped with my son, who is subbed. When he queued for us, I got credit. Then I later subbed, and tried on another toon--and again, I did not get credit. I opened an in game ticket. I hope they squash this bug. Very annoying.
  10. PvPvE never works. I hate to see so many votes for it. Faction capping is the only effective way to make it work, even if some people can't get in for every battle. Tol Barad works. Old Wintergrasp did not, despite the "buffing" they tried to do to compensate.
  11. Inquisitor was just bad, although I liked the twist ending of 1. Agent story so far is great. I find myself playing longer than intended because I want to see what happens next. It's like a novel you don't want to put down.
  12. What an silly post...almost as bad as the scoundrel complaining about assassin vanish... No scoundrel/operative is asking for instagib buffage. It's about utility and gapclosers. Assassins > by a mile concealment operatives as a stealth DPS class with cooldowns and defensive utility and sustained damage. Sorc healers > operative healers for the same reason.
  13. He is referring to abilities that apply poison to the target--because of these talents... Tactical Opportunity [Tier 4 Lethality Talent] - Collateral Strike has a [50 / 100]% chance to immediately re-grant Tactical Advantage when hitting a poisoned target. Collateral Strike [Tier 3 Lethality Talent] - Laceration has a [25 / 50]% chance to trigger a Collateral Strike, dealing 375 additional kinetic damage. This effect cannot occur more than once every 10 seconds.
  14. Ideally, open from stealth, stay in melee range (snare), use interupt, stun. If you get knocked too far away, flashbang or vanish depending on distance. Don't give me the die before LOSing, that's your fault..and you want to get chased around LOS, that puts the merc in melee range. If anything, it sounds like scoundrel problems not a tracer missile problem. Buff scoundrels.
  15. Here's a few suggestions... 1. Interrupt 2. Knockback 3. Stun 4. LOS If that doesn't work, then QQMOAR.
