  1. The known issues was just updated confirming these items ARE supposed to be sellable on the GTN, so that part seems to be a bug for the moment.
  2. Reputation/conquest mechanics aside, my two cents on the fact of blueprints being junk is just that it feels so... pointless. So lacklustre. It's essentially a background process that you can simply ignore and it does the work for you. GS is what brings me into the game with a purpose, an intent of 'alright, what do I need to do to advance this?' With this new system, there's no glancing at my inventory to see how many rep items I have, no deliberate turning in of items to advance anything. It's just... there. There's no sense of progression, no meaning to it now.
  3. For what it's worth I've had several instances since 7.4 dropped where my character's sprint got toggled off as well, so it wouldn't surprise me if there's something glitchy going on there.
  4. a) Griefing is not 'normal' gameplay. b) As I explained earlier, most people don't RP on the fleet so other people can see them. They go to the fleet cantina specifically because it is a natural hub where players congregate, and some of those are roleplayers. This is not unique to SWTOR. Main gameplay hubs are also main RP hubs. Additionally, from an in-character perspective, it makes sense for characters to gather there. c) 'Everyone else is an unwilling participant' - by this logic, every player is an unwilling participant in every chat channel. Unless, of course, they use that handy little toggle button to turn off the chat channels they don't want to see, including the ones used for RP. Again, false equivalent. A chat channel you can totally ignore can't be compared to the physical and audible disruption of roleplay activities by trolls. d) Forced unmount would not be 'forcing participants into roleplay'. There is no 'forced' interaction with the roleplayers happening in this scenario. What if nobody's roleplaying there when you zip through and get dismounted? How can that be considered forced into roleplay if there's no roleplay occurring? All that said, I agree with the majority that forced dismount is not the answer here. It offers an only maybe solution at the expense of the rest of the community. But 'just go somewhere else' is not the answer either. Roleplayers have every right to be on the fleet the same as anyone else, their RP is overwhelmingly not disruptive (see point c), and it shouldn't be the majority of THAT community that is penalised for the actions of a few trolls. Because the problem is still the griefers, not the roleplayers.
  5. I personally don't think that 'banning' mounts in the cantina is the proper solution, in that we agree. I don't have a suggestion to offer on that score. But it also shouldn't be the people who are not being disruptive who are then penalised, by having to go elsewhere. If I'm sitting in a restaurant with some friends, eating and talking, and someone comes over and starts playing a kazoo every time one of us speaks, should I and my friends be the ones who have to abandon our table and our meal? Not an exact analogy, because this is a game and that's real life, but it makes the point. Folks who are not roleplayers don't understand the value, the immersion, of being able to roleplay in the proper setting. (I can't even tell you how many mind-blowing sets were built in WildStar just for one particular roleplay session) If a scene is happening on the fleet, it makes a difference to be able to enact that scene on the fleet. Also, open-world RP has been a living, breathing part of every MMO I've played over the last 10+ years. And yes, it happens primarily in large hubs, like the fleets, because that's where a large number of players naturally gather. It's hard to find open RP out in the middle of Taris. Again - if seeing RP bothers you (the general you), it's a lot easier to hit that little toggle button in your chat, than for a whole group of people who are minding their own business to get up and relocate. And while I can't speak for other roleplayers, I can tell you that I have never thought to myself 'Yes, let me go to the busiest place in the game so everyone gets to read my RP'. Because we are not roleplaying for the benefit of passersby, we're roleplaying for ourselves and other roleplayers.
  6. And there's a REALLY easy solution for this - turn off the emote channel so you don't see it. Whereas roleplayers have no way of stopping griefers from disrupting their sessions with things like giant mounts and forced emotes. I'm seeing a lot of hypocrisy in this thread that amounts to "the fleet should be for everybody!! (except roleplayers, they should find someplace else to go)". And there's a fundamentally false analogy being presented here. Roleplayers are not all streaming into the fleet cantina going "let's see how obnoxiously we can roleplay to annoy other players!" Whereas certain non-roleplayers/griefers ARE deliberately going out of their way to be obnoxious to roleplayers. It's not the same thing. Intent matters. LOTRO has an excellent feature where you can 'opt out' of forced emotes by other players, just a little toggle on/off in your settings. I think that would be a great thing to have in SWTOR as well.
  7. Yeeeep, I've got the same issue here haha. Especially where he's got dark skin, it's... awkward-looking. I don't know if they'll ever change this - to my knowledge it's been this way since launch - but it's honestly my number one desire for character creation.
  8. Pretty much this! Additionally, the Onderon weekly quest rewards tech frags where most other 'wrapper' quests don't. And if you've reached that part in the story, Interpreter's Retreat dailies reward 100 tech frags each, so you can get 600 per round of those (and they're quick and easy). As a solo player who ALSO wants to go nowhere near anything PVP, I feel your struggle haha. Best wishes!
  9. Seconded! It's such a waste of tech frags to re-buy pieces if you've already got some parts of a set. (Or, it could be someone only wants one or two pieces from a set, and isn't interested in buying the whole thing. Either way!)
  10. Agreed! Ossus remains one of my favourite segments of the game - visuals, storyline, even the dailies.
  11. Same here, I'm grabbing what I can now. It's not a great feeling that I feel pressured to try and stuff my cargo bay with things I may or may not want, just because they won't be readily available down the line for when the decision actually arises. At least there was a heads-up, anyway.

  13. Did you read the part where this is intended as a thread for genuine positivity? Or did you just elect to ignore that bit in favour of being snide? If you'd like to complain about the KOTXX storyline, you're of course welcome to do so - in another thread. Now come on, what's something you really like about this game? What makes you smile when you play? (And if the answer is 'nothing', then really, why did you come in here in the first place?)
  14. I was trying to put my finger on what was really bothering me about GS this time around and you know, this is it. Putting the debate about new companion vs not aside, at least the previous progressions went through more of the GS track. With this, the way it stopped halfway through, made it feel like it just flopped over and left a person hanging, like 'wait it's over already??' Incredibly anticlimactic. And then progressing the rep track feels so pointless, as you say, not just mechanics-wise but story-wise - why are we continuing to collect and deposit rep items for a story that's already been resolved?
  15. I have to agree with a lot of the folks here - especially for people like me who are avid Space Barbie players, this is an awful change. As a particular example, I have intentions of recreating my main character to go through the class story again with the new cutscene lighting changes, and this means recreating his outfits as well, many of which incorporate these 'random' pieces. So instead I'll have to try and find replacement pieces that still work with the outfits - not as easy as it sounds, and not fun at all, when I worked hard to compile the original ensembles.
  16. In light (or perhaps dark) of the overwhelming negativity I so often see on the forums, I thought it'd be a refreshing change of pace to share what we LIKE and ENJOY about this game. Because for all its faults and flaws - clearly many of us are still here and playing! (No, this is not a troll post. Nor is this a place for backhanded, sarcastic comments like 'I enjoy how x is still bugged'. There are plenty (PLENTY!) of other threads for that sort of thing.) Share what makes you happy about this game! A favourite character or location, a great experience you've had while playing, your favourite thing to do while you're running around in this galaxy far, far away. What draws you to this game? Is it the story, the playstyle, just the fact that it's Star Wars? For me, as a nearly lifelong Star Wars fan, I love a game where I can log in and create a plethora of my own characters and have their stories intertwine. SWTOR is what got me writing proper fanfic again after legit ten years of not, and I'd forgotten what a joy and delight it is to have so many story ideas that no matter how much I write, the list never gets shorter. I love that the game gives us so many varying companions to accompany us on our journey and to weave into our own characters' stories (for me, top of the list is Scourge. He FASCINATES me with how complex he is, ruthless and decisive yet also open-minded and hilariously snarky sometimes, and it has been a LONG time since I was so invested in a character who wasn't mine). I love the emotional impact so many environments have, whether it's the fading, yearning sunset of Coruscant, or the uneasy darkness of Belsavis vaults, or the reflective breathing space that Ossus always brings me. And I love taking screenshots across so many fascinating worlds, working with the different colours and lighting to create a little story in just a picture or two. I love playing Space Barbie in this game, the challenge I set myself of taking pieces from totally different sets and pulling them together into a cohesive outfit. No other game gives me SO MANY OUTFIT SLOTS! And I'm very close to maxing them out again on my main character even after they were doubled to 32 xD I've met some wonderful people thanks to SWTOR, whether in game or just out here in the community. And I'm so very grateful that this game exists.

  18. Ah yes, Force forbid anyone have dreams or desires or, gasp, a wishful thought! Are a lot of these suggestions EXTREMELY unlikely to ever happen? Of course. 0% chance? Yeah, could be! But we don't know that for sure, because we're not the ones making these decisions. So we ask. Express a little hope. Find that we're not alone in wanting something. I don't agree with a lot of the suggestions I see here. That doesn't make them wrong. People have different views and opinions and it's not up to one person to decree what is or is not 'realistic', 'good for the game', 'useful or useless'. It's not up to 'most old players' to go around condemning an idea because it's unlikely to ever happen. You really seem to delight in bringing a black cloud down on every aspect of this game, and you know? I'm sorry for that. I hope one day this game brings you even a small amount of joy.
  19. Unless there's an official post stating this, or you can somehow predict the future, you can't know that. People don't come into the suggestions forum EXPECTING any of these things - they are SUGGESTIONS. WISHES. Why do so many others feel the need to come in here and smack them down? All that said, I agree - at least having event items as bind to legacy would be fantastic.
  20. Seems like a lot of people have trouble comprehending the idea of 'nuance'. Does the game have a lot of issues, is the player base generally frustrated with all the bugs and lack of updates and scant communication from the devs? Yes, absolutely. Do a whole lot of people still care about and enjoy the game? ALSO yes. These two things can, in fact, both be true at the same time. You can want to express something positive about a game while still acknowledging that it has been a major disappointment in many areas. You can LIKE playing while still being outspoken with your valid criticisms/complaints and wanting to hold the game to higher standards.
  21. So much this, THANK YOU. They've done this for a few years now, it's nothing new. And I'd love to see MORE creative, community-centered events. Seems like a lot of folks on here don't want to accept ANYTHING good or fun, they just want to complain. And if that's their reaction to everything on these forums, I'm inclined to ask such folks why they're still here, making themselves miserable.
  22. Is there a trick to this? I was trying it just now, and no matter the item, COD price, or recipient, it still wanted to charge me the varying tax fee instead of the flat 100 credits.
