  1. Well until ArenaNet announced the beta for their GW2 64 bit client I had no idea that they were even considering such a thing. It would be nice if the same happened with swtor and we can only hope that Bioware have similar ideas but given past evidence I am not going to hold my breath on that one.
  2. I have been away for a little while so started a fresh imperial agent with 4.0. All I have done is the class quest and enough heroics to keep me on level for the planets. Not touched the planet quests at all as I have no interest. I am in the low 30's so far and not had any issues being at the right level for each planet nor being under geared thanks to the heroic drops. / shrugs
  3. Sorry I failed the psychic class at school so it was somewhat difficult for me personally to know if this was a design decision, bug or something else. All I saw was vendors missing with no explanation until now several days later why this was the case. So how are we supposed to know where to address our concerns in those circumstances. The change was poorly documented and poorly communicated to your customers and caused obvious confusion and frustration. This is not the first time either and as always it boils down to communication which is sadly a lesson that Bioware seem to have some difficulty in learning. /sigh.
  4. So what colour will you be picking? For the dye I mean, if you do intend to dye something.
  5. Heh yeah I noticed that too. Perhaps its a hidden story line, an intergalactic trouser thief who will take over the entire galaxy using his amazing trouser stealing skill to hold us all to ransom. We must stop this bounder at once, you may take my freedom but for goodness sake gimme back my trousers
  6. The insta 60 is only a solution if you are happy to skip the class story so not really a solution as that is the bit folks want to experience. And playing the planetary quests is OK a couple of times at most but it is still means you having to repeat content you don't enjoy to play the stuff you do. Now a lot of us have experienced the fun that is 12 x makes things its going to be a little rough to step back from that. Still think the best solution is to offer it as an option on the cartel market for about 1000 coins on a per character basis. I would also make it so you can not buy on gtn so only way to aquire is cartel store, money in the bank for Bioware.
  7. With the way KoFE story content is set up and how a good number of people want to seem to play the rest of it I would argue that this is a single player game with optional mmo content (I.e. group raids / content) rather than a full fat mmo. Though to be honest what you label or call the game doesn't really matter as far as i am concerned unless you are a swtor marketing guru. On topic, folks just want to play what they find fun and if that is just the class stories then I think you should be able to buy 12 x xp from the cartel market on a per character basis. I would say 1000 cartel points would be a fair price as it is a fairly heft boost to the gameplay experience.
  8. To get this back on topic so it doesn't get locked as it is important this issue isn't forgotten I already cancelled my sub and though EU maintenance wasn't the main reason I left it was certainly a factor in my decision to leave. I suppose as I came from RIFT & EQ2 (both of which I am going back to) I was kind of used to having EU friendly maintenance times and it is kind of shocking that Bioware hasn't followed suit. Getting any patch a day later at a less inconvenient time is not a problem, at least as far as I am concerned. Indeed at times it is a blessing as RIFT has proved on a couple of occasions when things didn't go quite as expected when the patch deployed to the US servers. Trion were able to push out a hotfix for whatever issue during our scheduled patch time a day later. Which of course meant no disruption to the EU players. It became kind of a running joke that the US players were our patch beta testers Think on that after the fiasco on Ilum. Sadly my faith in Bioware to deal with this and other issues has sadly been diminished somewhat hence why I am leaving. I do wish the people who are staying the best of luck and I hope that this will be among the many issues that Bioware rethink in the future.
  9. Sadly despite saying that I was going to stick around earlier in this thread I have changed my mind and decided to leave (indeed I have cancelled my sub already) The sole reason for my leaving is this broken mechanic that effectively makes every server a pvp server, which rather defeats the purpose of me rolling on a pve-rp server as I wish to avoid open world pvp. I may well reconsider resubscribing again should they every mend this exploit but while it is still present I won't be
  10. Posted this a few times in topics like this: This is what Bioware expect with regards to open world pvp in a pve/rp environment (read the underlined parts.) I would like all the people who are defending this exploit to explain to me how any of that applies to the op's situation. He wasn't asked if he wanted to pvp, he wasn't in a designated pvp area and he wasn't pvp flagged. Someone used a broken mechanic to grief a player on a pve server, plain and simple. It's irrelevant that there is no lasting harm done, other than a few credits for repairs and assuming that you a lucky enough not to be spawn camped, only wastes a few minutes. The plain fact is this is a broken mechanic that is being exploited and people on pve/rp (who likely rolled on those servers to avoid this type of thing) are the ones that are having to suffer because of it. End of story.
  11. I just cancelled mine about five minutes ago due to the pvp force flagging issue that is on the client. I am a little sad as I honestly enjoy the pve aspect of the game but it has no place for me while force flagging is possible. Oh well guess I will have to visit youtube to find out what happens with the bounty hunter story quests
  12. I am glad you are enjoying the game, as indeed I am for the most part, and I am also glad that you have not been affected by this issue (and it wouldn't matter to you if you were, apparently.) I have been affected by this issue and "I" think that the mechanic that allows this needs to be removed. That is my opinion, you clearly have your own, so at this point before things go too far I am going to agree to disagree with you. Thank you for your input on this issue and as you say "each to their own"
  13. Um sorry but now you are talking rubbish. On PvE servers there are designated PvP zones, there is one on tatooine for example, where you get a nice 10 second countdown warning you that are approaching a PvP zone. I think its safe to assume that anything outside of those areas in meant for PvE
  14. Um so you are saying a lack of response from a wonky CS team trumps what Bioware themselves have written, No I don't think so Also please explain how this is not an exploit as defined by Bioware's own support pages, which you conveniently ignore.
  15. Ah ok so I am supposed to be aware of and see the yellow tag of the stealthed player. The two times I have had this happen to me was when a stealthed player walked into my aoe while I was fighting 4 mobs (which is the max I can currently managed.) It says in the PvE server description, and I quote "player-vs-player fights must be agreed to by both sides or conducted in PvP-designated areas." Where in the above example did I get to agree to the fight? (oh an I was in a normal pve area) Or are you saying that I agreed just by logging into a pve server and playing as normal? If so then what is the point of differentiating the server types? Oh and as an aside I did report both people for exploiting and no I have not heard anything as a result of this.
  16. Oh right that really skilled person who is so skilled that they have to exploit a mechanic on a PvE servers to get kills. If they are so skilled they should man up and roll on a PvP servers but I expect that their fragile ego's wouldn't be able to take it and would cry too much to play.
  17. /sigh here we go again ... its a pve server PVE, player vs environment. Having to watch for player of the opposing faction is what you do on a PvP server. Look just read the descriptions from Bioware own support pages and explain to me where both parties agree to the fight when one person forces it onto an unflagged player by jumping into their AOE.
  18. I wouldn't expect too much from Bioware as it seems that they have engaged head in sand mode and are hoping that this will go away on its own as evidenced by this 39 page thread on this very issue which has been ignored so far. I whole heartedly agree with you that this mechanic has no place on a pve/rp server and should never have made it into the launch client (it was apparently reported in beta multiple times too.) Sadly given that they do not seem to want to even acknowledge that this is a problem I am not at all hopeful that anything will be done any time soon.
  19. I agree with you about the fact that it may not be an easy fix and like you I would be prepared to wait for a proper fix but the thing that is really starting to annoy me is the silence that is coming from Bioware as far as acknowledging the issue. If Bioware came out and said we are aware of this and are working on a fix. I would be more than happy as then it is categorically an exploit. Just that would help deter all but the most rabid of griefers. However, as it stands it look partially legitimate (despite what it says on the support pages and elsewhere) and the people that are having to suffer due to it are the people who rolled on pve/rp servers to avoid this sort of thing in the first place. I am not unsubbing just yet but I am only subbing month by month (and I hate myself for doing this and always promised I wouldn't mainly because it achieves little more than being an empty gesture in the end) but if no acknowledgement comes by the time my next sub payment is due then I will have to reconsider my options as far as this game goes. I really do enjoy the pve but if someone is able to force me into pvp in a pve area without my consent then this game has no place for me
  20. My first post on these forums was about a colour blindness issue that I have with blue. As you can imagine the UI, maps etc are somewhat difficult to use. I manage but some colour customisation of the UI features would be a god send for me. Given that I imagine people with less than perfect vision are but a small percentage of the player base (and colour blindness an even smaller percentage) I am not holding out any hope for any thing being added that will help. Lets face it Bioware seem to have their hands quite full dealing with issues that affect far more people to bother with relatively minor stuff (from their point of view) as this. Sad but probably true
  21. I would just like to point out for the benefit of any scare mongering news organisations that may be lurking that no actual women were killed during the playing of this mmo nor anyone else for that matter, its all an illusion.
  22. Given that this question was apparently asked multiple times during the beta and this mechanic still made it to the launch client seems to speak volumes to me and also makes me rather sad. Not that it matters to EA/Bioware they have my money already. Bioware advertise your PvP interaction on your pve/rp servers as "player-vs-player fights must be agreed to by both sides or conducted in PvP-designated areas." and on PVE-RP servers its even stricter "players of opposing factions may only battle each other in designated instanced areas on RP-PvE servers." This is, with the force flagging in place, a blatant lie and simply does not reflect what is the reality on the live servers, where someone can trick you or force you into unwanted PvP regardless of where you are or what your pvp flag is set to. Bioware this needs addressing before this issue is even more prevalent than it currently is. Sadly I am getting the feeling that nothing is going to change or that they will even acknowledge that this is a problem. Starting to loose faith in Bioware
  23. Not all players are so forgiving, especially when some bugs are preventing people from making meaningful progress within the game or making that progress so painful that they give up. Which in turn means they won't get to see the wonderful new content that is being released. I do agree to a certain extent that new content is important. Speaking only for myself though, I would much prefer at this stage of the games release for more bug squashing and some quality of life issue to be addressed such as UI customisation and guild features. Yes they may be different teams that deal with these but to me at the moment Bioware seem to have the wrong focus as far as priorities go.
  24. The ball is still in your court Bioware, how long are you going to keep silent for on this issue. If this is an intended mechanic on a PvE server (though for the life of me I can't imagine why that would be) please can you acknowledge that and alter your description of your PvE servers types to reflect this as currently you are giving a false information to the people who are paying to use your service. If this is indeed an exploit (as I hope) then, again, a simple acknowledgement of that and that you are working on a fix will go a long way to helping your community have a little patience while you work on the issue. Continued silence does no one any favours and will only lead to negative feelings from your community.
