  3. Hi all! In the light of the news regarding the upcoming patch/expansion/update shown at E3 2012, scheduled for later this year, something suddenly dawned on me. The current legacy level and character level are both 50. If the level cap will be raised by 10, we might see the legacy level also raise to a max of 60 also. Players applaud the excellent 3-act-story and leveling experience but soon get bored at level 50 and WANT MORE CONTENT. As well as the standard new operations / warzones / planets / content, soon we will get a new companion. Currently players can send out an extra companion on crew skill missions every 10 levels, roughly speaking. The HK-51 droid will be the new companion and obtaining it requires completing puzzle quests by characters on both Imperial and Republic sides within the one legacy. So this fits nicely with the legacy system and the level system too. A NEW difficulty rating for flashpoints and operations at level 60 would be welcome! Its quite easy to see how this could be the new SWTOR future content model and i hope it will be something like this. A LARGE content update at the end of each year. However, paying $50 PER YEAR is pretty steep compared to WoW's 3-year expansion cycle. I have a solution. I believe BioWare could blow away its competition yet again with another mould-breaking step in terms of how to sell us an end-of-year update. Simply subtract your legacy level from the maximum legacy level and pay a dollar per legacy level to update your account to play the latest expansion. So for example if your were legacy level 25, then you would pay $25 dollars for the newest update. If you were legacy level 50, you pay nothing more than your subscription. Not only would this encourage players to stay active on their servers by growing & maintaining a solid community & user base, but also reward them for their continued loyalty into the future. Level 60 players could help out lowbie players and still be rewarded with Legacy XP. Lowbie plays will get through content much faster with higher level players around and their Legacy XP will skyrocket. Remember, unlike WoW, grouping with other players no matter their level, increases everyones XP for completing missions. There are even legacy unlocks coming in 1.3 to further BOOST this. When a player is ready for the new level 51+ content, they could pay upfront or grind more Legacy levels with the help of higher level players, unlike WoW's archaic approach to grouping and XP rewards. Its Win/Win for both high and low level players, and for Bioware keeping subscription levels up. Not everyone will get to legacy level 50 by the time this update happens at the end of the year. The few players that do will probably want a special reward for their loyalty to the game and I believe it would be fitting to grant them the expansion for free. After all, this is a fresh new game with subscriber numbers that are overshadowed by other games. World of Warcraft are obviously the kingpin of MMO's right now and have been for many years, but even they had a very slow start. Energising an excellent game such as SWTOR with consistant yearly updates in this manner is exactly what players need. Continuing subscribers is exactly what SWTOR needs. A healthy competition is what the MMO landscape needs. So if you read all that, would you consider this a fair and equitable solution to improve populations, active subscribers and the future of SWTOR?
  4. So i was doing a Heroic4 quest on Hoth today.. and after quite some time we cleared to the end of the quest's instance. Then the party leader lagged out and disconnected... we waited 10 mins for him to come back, but as he was having some bad lag issues during the run we decided to push on without him. We killed the final quest mob as a 3man group. We did not get credit for it. I know the "owner" was disconnected at this time.. so therefore we cannot progreess further? He was not coming back any time soon.. and theres no point waiting hours for him to come back. The party "leader" was transferred to me... but the "owner" was not. Are we to bite the metaphorical bullet and start the entire quest again from the beginning?
  5. im wondering if there are any extremist npcs in the game that would hunt you down / exclude u from doing pvp/operations/flashpoints/world quests when they find out you are in a SGR
  6. even if you were an american wanting to play in a late night guild (aussie guild) .. you wouldnt NEVER want to go to an Australian server and suffer 6 times worse pings
  7. Thank GOD! Thank BW! The Swiftsure just aint swft enough for sure!
  8. The UI was fine before... except for 1 thing.. fix the cooldown of specific abilities so they show when they are available. They used to be "visually always available" which was wrong. Now the entire bar flashes and i cant see the status of my next ability, until its much later. Clicker, yes, but it was 99% perfect before this patch and now its dropped a long way. Having the whole bar flash white (ie global cooldown) is terrible! Especially if the "dimmed" version of a button is the term used to display a button being on cooldown. Is the button "lighted" (ie. available and off cooldown), or "dimmed" (ie. unavailable and on cooldown)?!?! I cant tell at first glance.. which is all i should need to see it. Especially since im trying to play a game thats visually awesome.. this is very distracting and not very coherent with gameplay. Just have that 1 button do a global cooldown flash... NOT EVERYTHING! Or, just bring back the old UI and fix that 1 thing that didnt work right - lighted/dimmed buttons to correctly display if something is on or off cooldown. No one cared about seeing a visual cue for how long the global cooldown lasts. A better way again of showing the "time left on cooldown" is a number on the button that counts down. I used the OmniCC mod for WoW, which shows a very simple little number on the ability button ...DONE.
  9. ive been in 2x 5 hour queues today, after internet glitches and drop outs you're trolling or u dont understand this is a global game either way this isnt a constructive dialogue
  10. logic dictates they make oceanic servers.. but no and now they are paying the price for their lack of vision sry had to go there
  11. Im an aussie on The Swiftsure server (west coast usa) I tried logging in yesterday at 1PM AESDT (Australian Eastern Standard Time) or 6PM USA West Coast time and was put in a queue that lasted 4 hours and 40 mins. I logged in this morning at 7AM AESDT or midday USA West Coast time and i was able to get in without any queue. My internet droppped out somehow while i was in game and it kicked me out. Now 1PM AESDT again and im in a queue that seems will take me 4 hours again. I understand the aussie and usa populations and their timings. I just hope things improve or i can see it seriously impacting sales on this game.
