  1. They do try to stop you from entering and leaving if you're infected you know >.>
  2. you know what else is a helpful solution to asking in general? Google.
  3. that just means that none of the players on tat wanted to sell their samples, EG they were saving them because they wanted to buy stuff. EDIT: When the event started I asked general on the fleet where you spend the dna samples, and got an answer, from several people almost immediately.
  4. It's totally Bioware's fault for being logical.
  5. they are, a robot scans you and you have to kill two guys.
  6. How did it ruin your gameplay? How old are you?
  7. Why include the compromise if there's no reason to? There's no loss from being infected, and there's a great deal to be gained from it.
  8. It's not griefing because it's not preventing you from playing, you can just as easily die from this with no net loss. It's actually beneficial to die, as you can sell the DNA samples and make some cash. Let me say that again: THERE IS NO NET LOSS FROM DYING . You don't take durability damage and it doesn't cost you anything.
  9. Yep, considering that the 5 DNA samples would probably net you something like 15k credits, which is enough to buy as many samples as you need.
  10. The real question is, why don't you like the event? There's stuff to get that looks cool, a title an orange set of armor, 2 pets and some neat bind on legacy companion kits. It also makes the universe seem dynamic that something like this could happen randomly. It also gets people out of the fleet and around the galaxy.
  11. The real question is, why don't you want to be infected? There is literally zero benefit from not being infected and it is, in fact a good way to make some money.
  12. Avoid the players standing in a circle in the fleet, avoid Tatooine or just the fleet in general. Even if you are infected and pop you can VERY easily sell your DNA samples to make way more than 2k.
  13. You don't play a lot of MMOs do you? Literally every single MMO does this(theme park MMOs that is).
  14. To be sure I think the thread was hijacked by trolls awhile ago who just wanted to come to spout off at how much they hate the game. I think anyone who was seriously offended by this are the ones who aren't threatening to unsub.
  15. No I would have taken what was given to me and not been mad about it. If they decided to give something special to only a portion of the community I would be fine with it. Furthermore, I wouldn't be offended by this even if I wasn't getting free time.
  16. First, they did reward players for leveling on the test server. In a title reward and by being able to see the content earlier. Second, your evidence is anecdotal, what if I said that I knew 2 level 50s who fill out bug reports all the time, and are active members of the community who discuss class balance, PvE and PvP content on here and on the SWTOR subreddit? My point is, just because 1 person at level 50 doesn't help the game, doesn't mean that ALL of them don't.
  17. I didn't even play on release either, I started in BC.
  18. Not to mention level 50s form the backbone of the community to begin with. The reason people play MMOs is, in part of the community in the first place.
  19. I wouldn't, I don't really care who Bioware thinks their loyal customers are, or who gets free game time from the company themselves. I certainly wouldn't think any less of them for it, and I wouldn't cancel my sub over it.
  20. WoW actually gives out a lot of fairly random in-game time for different reasons. I've received free months in wow, several free days, and even a couple of weeks before.
  21. I actually agree, I think cancelling over such a small issue is incredibly childish.
