  1. Are you sure you want to blame people's bandwith? Really really sure? http://www.speedtest.net/result/1918929103.png That's from Chicago to San Diego. Here's to a local server, http://www.speedtest.net/result/1918937675.png I get about 12-15 fps in a warzone. What settings i play at doesn't matter (can't really tell the difference between them as they all look horrible) I would tell you my computer spec's but you've deemed it irrelevant. I guess my 4meg/sec upload isn't enough to play swtor. btw, WoW on ultra settings in raids i average about 50-60fps.
  2. I have 2gb of vram and still have that issue.
  3. I like swtor cause it randomly re-activates my account and I can post on the forums. All those other games that are p2p, don't give me free play days to entice me to come back to playing it, which i never will because MoP is far superior to swtor, even in it's current , nearly broken, beta state.
  4. I was a healer through the first half of wotlk, then switched to tank when work got in the way of raiding. We were, at the time, a top 100 us guild. I will admit though, that i was one of the worst healers in the guild, but easily one of the best on our realm.
  5. hmm i thought they fixed that. You know though, now with combat logging, you can provide proof. Keep it turned on and when something like this happens, copy paste the death so you don't get fanboys coming in here saying u sux learn2play.
  6. Why do you compare a game you play to a game you never have played? Anyways, WoW does do this. If you are a healer, and you have the boss targeted you can cast a heal and it will attempt to heal the target if it can't it will try to heal the targets target. However, at least in wow, if you try to heal the TANK like this you are completely retarded. Maybe back in MC days when boss mechanics were simpler and you NEEDED and had 3-4 dedicated tank healers, you could get away with the heal "forwarding". Today though, bosses have mechanics that switch target, inflict massive damage, then swap back fairly quickly, often before many people could notice and cast their heal. Instead of taking 10 healers like you did in 40man, you're taking 4-6 (unless your a bad guild then you're taking more). You could cast a heal that's easily going to the wrong target without noticing or being able to cancel and re-cast effectively. DPS works the same way, but there are many times you don't want to blindly follow the tank's target as a single tank could be tanking multiple mobs, and you only need to attack a single target. Blizzard has had assist (and tank) frames that allow you to target a single friendly and then they would be the person in charge of focus DPS. You could do this in all of wow with macro's and later without when they changed how targeting works. Besides, the ONLY thing you need to be an effective healer is mouseover or click casting and a proper visual cue system (i.e. calling out that Joe is about to get bombed with super massive dot ). Almost anything that players have needed to raid successfully, blizzard has added that to a raiders toolbox. Whatever is missing is soon added by addon authors.
  7. People have been doing "Challenge" mode for a long time anyways, they're just adding ways to prove your merits and reward accordingly. I remember back in stratholme, our guild had contests for who could run dead side the fastest, with 3 or 4 people (when 5 was the cap)., etc.
  8. Hmm.. maybe we should all start chanting change the engine or sell the IP to blizzard for proper development ?
  9. It'll be a feature in the next patch that will break something like raid resets or something stupid like that.
  10. Who doesn't! I mean it's so hard to figure out if it's AM or PM by looking at your wrist watch. What would they do with something like this, http://gadgetsin.com/uploads/2011/12/ziiiro_ion_wrist_watch_1.jpg Would they think it's 3:00 am or pm or 06:00 !!!
  11. This just blows my mind. First off, while there are quite a few Americans that consider America the entire world, saying that ONLY the US and Canada use a 12h clock is wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12-hour_clock#Use_by_country Also, you don't "count" gallons or feet[sic], since they are units of volume and distance, which are measured.
  12. awesome. i found this too, http://www.spacearchive.info/military.htm I was wondering, do these guys complaining about 12hr time format know how to read an analog clock? Some images of clocks in Europe Supposed oldest clock in Germany on some church. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IGVy5D9HfEo/TCcTlzCPEdI/AAAAAAAAAPo/OBnG_ajU7FY/s1600/small+clock.jpg Street clock in France http://wwwdelivery.superstock.com/WI/223/1597/PreviewComp/SuperStock_1597-106729.jpg London, http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02040/big-ben_2040112c.jpg
  13. Remember Archimonde? It was down for the second two weeks of live. I remember they gave every one straight up two weeks compensation for those accounts alone. On Hellscream,I remember at least 10 days of compensation before the end of 2004.
  14. Maybe he forgot the 0, when they had those 30hr extended maintenance windows?
  15. By "see blizzard do this," you mean hype a patch update over the course of a month, have it implemented for barely a day then push out another minor patch the next day that reverts your over-hyped patch, then take the servers down to make a NEW patch with no notes and more changes than just putting every thing 1.2 did back in place. yes, we have and will never see Blizzard do this.
  16. Wrong, Every one got the following. 12/12/08 N/A One Day Credit 11/8/08 N/A Three Day Credit This happened around sunwell I believe. Other days, 12/26/09 N/A One Day Credit 7/20/09 N/A One Day Credit 5/17/09 N/A One Day Credit This account opened in 3/2007. My original account is locked atm. Another account of mine had the following.. 12/21/08 N/A One Day Credit 12/18/08 N/A Three Day Credit Also there was a massive server overhaul that took 2 or 3 days, i forget, but we were compensated for that as well. This was for the TBC release.
  17. http://i.imgur.com/9CtQB.jpg Ya, cause FXAA helps these shadows a lot...
  18. Eastern Plaguelands and Hellfire pvp objectives worked. no, really, not being sarcastic. I know i look forward to 7 loading screens taking any where from 10seconds to a minute, then all of the connecting flight points from my location to yours, and probably some that aren't connected either, just to provide a little help? by the time any one gets there that isn't already on that planet, the battles are already over.
  19. It didn't take bioware a month to create all the animations for, face it, one race. the bodies of all the "races" in star wars are identical except for textures. they only had to make one set of animations. Blizzard has 9 completely different models to re-create, along with unique animations for every one.
  20. Wow had a global chat channel for about a week then they removed it. I remember that week, it was horrible. But you also have to remember back when they did this, there were literary thousands of characters, if not more, online at once on most servers. Warcraft chat channels are split in to zones. In TOR zones are planets and chat is exactly the same. Later on wow combined all of the city channels (there used to be separate channels for org/uc/TB for example) into a single City chat, but you probably wont get that in tor because there is only 1 "city hub"
  21. Blizzard has reworked hundreds of animations for all races and classes for Mists. They're also rebuilding character models but they said that it takes MONTHS of work just for one race & class, so it will be some time to finish all of the characters. Before the end of Mists, they expect to have every class to be as fluid as the pandas. this will also extend to ALL NPCs that use character models as well.
  22. I went through every emote in star wars and not one of them had ANY facial changes in the character animation or model. I won't compare Mists to star wars though. Mists is too new and yes, there WILL be an improvement. I will compare star wars to Blood elves, released at the start of 2007 and has had no work done on the actual model itself after release. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uDF_JLVLV8 My video proves my point. 5 year old models have more character than star wars. I think i am going to have to remake the video though. the Tor clip is kind of dark.
  23. The boss dies. Each player has a chance to win loot, independent of the other players. For each player who wins loot, the game randomly assigns them a spec-appropriate item from that boss’s loot table. This subset contains only items that the game (meaning the designers in this case) thinks are appropriate for your class and current spec. Notice that you aren’t rolling Need or Greed. You don’t have an option to Pass. The game just says “Take this.” You can’t trade this item, or that would defeat the purpose of removing the social pressure on groups of strangers. If you don’t want the item, you are free to vendor, delete, or disenchant it. Just to clarify your post. I put in bold the most important difference between the way TOR does it, and the way WoW will do it.
  24. before OMG GO BACK TO WOW POST!!, back in the MC/BWL days i wrote an addon for the guild that i was in that did almost exactly this for our DKP system. CurseForge ftw. http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/project-1830/ It used a system of tells. I didn't want to rely on having every one using the addon so i made it easy to use. non loot masters can use the addon and if they did the loot would pop up in exactly the way you describe. If they used the addon and wanted to bid on an item they could click it in the window. If they didn't use the item, they would send a tell with the item name in it.
