  1. So how do you balance healing in the PvP meta, when healer HAS to, first and foremost, keep tanks alive in PvE OPs boss fights? The answer is buff DPS.
  2. the burgers are not great pilots 1v1. i have never been out flown by any of them. what they do is cover each other's backs. you'll be chasing war around, working his shields and BAM whata gets you. or you'll be running from war and whata and BAM princess snipes you.
  3. best i've seen is huggy-bear... i've never been so thoroughly made another pilot's ***** the way huggy farms me.
  4. I've thought about this a lot. imo, all strikes need is a magazine that reduces missile lock on and reload times. doing this would make them the dominant mid range ship. it won't be able to dogfight like a scout, it won't have the insane range that gunships have, and it won't be the short range area deterrent that bombers are... but it'll be an offensive powerhouse that all 3 will have to account for, unlike now.
  5. /sigh... Ya. Dammit. Stings looks like really ugly dogs. Bloodmark is so much sexier. Curse your logic!
  6. What if there was a UI indication that, regardless of its skin, it was running T1, T2 or T3 components?
  7. Ability to spend them to reskin a ship to another ship's appearance, as long as they are the same class. Purley cosmetic.
  8. I'm sitting up at work and can't log in to the game... What's the Fleet Comm cap? I just thought of a perfect use for them in GSF.
  9. these things good for anything, at all gsf related? no. then why do we get em as gsf daily rewards? can't convert them to ship or fleet req. nothing new added to the crappy fleet comm vendor since makeb. i mean, i guess you could get the legacy gear, if you don't already have it, but after that... pointless.
  10. ive played bombers. all you have to do is find a little nook somewhere, so that anyone that wants to kill you has to come at you from one way, drop your **** and chill. if something actually does come in and try to kill you, you can always just weave in and out of the many many objects flying around and wait for help, while your AI does all your work. meanwhile, whoever as actually attacking you, has to deal with a human pilot and an AI that never misses. ive been playing with emp missiles a bit lately. don't hit hard, but at least i have a fighting chance so i can get close enough for lasers. get em mastered with the engine ability debuff and gunships won't be able to barrel roll away anymore, either. my disdain for bombers has inclined me to build a ship exclusively for hunting them. gimped vs all else. don't care. hate. them.
  11. they don't have to target anything. they aren't punished by a twitchy wrist or anything. their mines and drones know when anything is in range, regardless of a camera view... all they have to do is drop mines/drones and then fly around trying not to die while an error-free computer AI does all their killing for them. if that's gonna be the case, then the AI needs to be retooled so that it misses as much as a human being would. because we aren't perfect. we are fallible.
  12. granted, this is my first week back after a long absence, but the T2 strike used to be mean as hell. i'll check out the emp missiles. are they worth anything besides node clearing?
  13. and that would be fine if it wasn't for the domination factor in the metagame. as long as the mechanic for capping a node is proximity, a ship specifically designed to keep other ships away from it needs a hard counter. T2 scout's pretty tough. when i first got mine on my shadow, i went on a gunship killing rampage for like the whole first week i had it (before bombers were added). objectives? screw that... there's a gunship that needs farmed. that being said, the T2 strike is pretty good vs T2 scout, imo.
  14. cloaked klingon ships were fun to fly... it was a little bit like ground combat, but that didn't make it not fun. it wasn't a twitch game, but it WAS balanced well.
  15. honestly i think if the tier 3 strike fighter or scout had a component that worked like flares vs heatseeking missile, bombers wouldn't be so bad. if there was something we could drop that would force the rail gun mine, seeker mine or whatever else to focus on it, instead of you, that would actually balance bombers out, immensely. but as it stands right now, it's just too dangerous for a strike or a scout to get close enough to the bomber to do anything.
  16. i know they can be killed. i've killed em. it still doesn't address the fact that a bomber pilot just has to drop his mines and let the AI do all the work for him.
  17. doesn't address the underlying issue, which is that the bomber pilot is riding the game's AI, not having to target anything. just drop mines and wait.
  18. star trek online had exceptional space combat, complete with capital ships.
  19. ok, so basically, everyone agrees. the T3 scout ship is useful if you're in a coordinated group that is constantly communicating, has a fall back position established, and is actively working together to accomplish the objectives. any other time, it's butt *********** useless.
  20. i just came back to the game after about a year and decided to jump back in to gsf to see if it had gotten better. after being away for so long, i think i have a pretty good objective perspective on these things, and why they are unfair. bombers largely don't have to rely on the human error factor. they drop mines that are controlled by an AI. they never miss. they know whenever anything gets within range. basically... a bomber pilot really doesn't have to do anything but sit next to a sat. drop his mines, and let the computer do the work for him. and for that he gets his stats padded. his damage and kill count are being wracked up by an artificial intelligence that never gets a twitchy finger, or can't press tab or r fast enough. the AI should be retooled to make the mines act more like a companion on the ground game. they only shoot at what the pilot tells them to shoot at, or whatever attacks it. as long as bombers remain how they are, the are quite simply put, overpowered as node guards.
  21. fly the one that takes skill to pilot... so, none of them.
  22. why would you guys make the tier 3 scout the best looking ship in the game, and then proceed to screw it up by making it barely functional? dump the sensors. make the systems a secondary component, and then add a second secondary weapon. boom. tier 3 scout now worth it. call it a "Heavy Scout" or something, but right now, its just this side of useless. and with the massive decline in gsf players, across all servers (mostly due to bombers not gettin nerfed hard enough), requisition points are super hella slow, so buff that ****.
  23. there should only be two classes... force users and non force users, and they should each have pools of skills to choose from to tailor their characters to their playstyle. stories should never have been tied to class. neither should companions.
  24. cleared my cache. fixed it. please delete thread, admin.
  25. Talos Drellik... i've wanted to choke the **** out of that little nancy boy since beta. Skadge (total waste of a companion), Gault, Andronikos, tranny Khem Val, Ashara (whiney do-gooders suck) Keeping Blizz, Mako, Vette, dark side Jaessa,
