    The OP was. You should likely have read it before posting. Sorry, I didn't read past the first line. My guess is it's a big excuse about how you know what the OP meant, even though it's not actually there in his post. Am I right? If you're not willing to read what other people say, why should anyone bother with you?

    LoL.... wrong. I made my point on page one before I even responded to you. You should maybe, you know, read the thread or something. Might help you make a valid point. There is nothing to "challenge" in your point because it's completely irrelevant to the topic. If a person wants to get the same results on the leader boards in the 50 bracket that he got in the lower levels, then you'd be right.... why would I challenge that? However, since that's not what the OP asked for, your point has no impact on this thread. It's nothing but a Strawman argument, and that's why I called you on it. Read this ^ My original response to your strawman was valid. He never asked to have the same results, yet you attacked him as if that's what he had said. Your big man on campus remark was along the same lines, you don't tell someone they aren't the big man on campus anymore if you don't assume that's what they expect. That's the problem here, your entire argument against the OP is based on assumption. You're backing down from it now, because you were wrong. Funny the way you came in here calling people names and yet you're the one taking this whole thing personally. Who's being defensive again?

    There's nothing to "figure out"... I took what the OP wrote, and read it. That's what you should have done, instead of figuring out what strawman arguments you could make.

    YOU said it. You took his line about wanting to top the leaderboards in the lower brackets and acted as if that meant he wanted to do the same in the level 50s. Don't forget your "big man on campus" line... if that doesn't mean "the best" what did you mean? One of the best? Yes. You posted a strawman argument, and now you're backing out of it. So he doesn't want to be the best after all? He just want's to be effective? Great that's what I SAID all along. Ummm YOU and one other guy imagnined the OP said something he didn't, which you're now backing down from... that's a far cry from "everyone" Listen... the OP didn't make any of the claims you pretended he made. He did not say he wanted to be the big man on campus, or to be just as good in the level 50 bracket as he was in the lower level ones. YOU MADE THAT UP. He just doesn't want to feel ineffective. And I don't see why that's such a bad thing to want.

    No, I do have something to say, and I said it. My point being that if you're going to argue against the OP, you need to actually argue with what was written, rather than make up something in your head and then argue with that. NO WHERE did the OP say ANYTHING about wanting to be the best player in the the level 50 bracket. He just doesn't want to be worthless. I don't know why you took off into a completely different direction from what he said, but that's what you did. That makes YOUR post pointless.

    And yet no where in that paragraph does the OP say he/she wants to be the best in the 50 bracket. Only that he was good in the lower brackets and thus shouldn't be horrible in the level 50. So basically you guys are making up nonsense and arguing with it instead of actually responding to what's written. "Reading comprehension" means reading what is there, and understanding it. Not imagining whatever you want it to "suggest" and then acting like the words on the screen say whatever the hack you want them to say. Strawman arguments are not logical.

    I'll ask again... where did you pull this from? I'll say again.... I don't think anyone is asking to go into the 50 bracket and be "big man on campus".... they just don't want to be worthless. I ask you the same. Maybe you'll respond to what is actually being said this time?
  12. Gear progression itself is fine, but the difference between a top geared player and a low geared player in PvP should be very small. And regardless of how you play, you should have a path towards that gear. Even if it takes casual / solo players much longer to reach it. When you have to play a certain way or do certain content you'd rather not do just to get gear, it's a bad system. This ^ I don't care if they have gear progression in the game or not, but once it becomes the reason you're playing... the game is broken, plain and simple.

    Where exactly did you pull that from the OP's post? I'm pretty sure no one really expects to jump into the level 50 bracket and start topping the leader boards, but you shouldn't feel worthless either.

    /agree You shouldn't have to hate the game for a week or so in order to maybe have fun, eventually. On the other side, I also have no desire to easily beat new players because of my gear. It ruins the fun and challenge of the game when I feel gear is what's winning the match instead of actual ability.
  15. It's sort of like Rock / Paper / Scissors..... The best starting strat is the one that counters what the enemy is doing. After the initial charge.... Moving quickly, good defense, calling incomings and reacting fast to what the enemy is doing wins warzones.
  16. This is a good point. I guess playing operative, in which just getting to a place where you can use your high damage abiliites once sours me to the whole spamming the same rotation at range thing.
  17. Yeah, I realized that and edited my post thanks. I'm not saying they spam 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 all day. More likely it's.... 1,1,1,2,3..... move on to the next target.... 1,1,1,2,3 Still far too simple imo. To me that's exactly what this thread is about. Because debuff stacking would be fine the way it is, if it wasn't so simple to do it.
  18. This ^ In order to stack 5-10 debuffs on you, you'd need to be hit at least 6 times (depending on spec) by two different players. That's 6-10 hits that could have been full DPS attacks instead of moderate DPS with an armor debuff. Basically, If you're being focus fired on by more than one player you're going to die fast anyway. My issue with the debuff isn't that they stack with each other, it's that each commando / BH is just spamming the same attack over and over again. No class should be that simple to play.
  19. I don't find it that hard really. At the start of a WZ I look for casters, even if it's not the healer, it's a low armor DPS, so that's better than hitting a tank. After about 30 seconds you'll figure out who the healers are. Then you just attack them whenever you see them. Waiting around for the OPS leader to find the healer and mark him for me isn't really helping the team. Honestly, I'd rather marking was removed. I'd personally rather do a bit of extra work to find the healers on my own, because it forces the enemy to do the same. It's just one more area of the game where shortcuts are there to make up for a player's lack of ability.

  21. Wasn't that the OP's point? I'm a grown *** man, I don't "cry" about video games. That doesn't change the fact that a good number of players don't actually play MMOs just for group PvE, and that alternative paths to reaching the top besides raiding only makes the game better for more players. It's pretty silly to make a genre that treats certain playstyles badly and then argue that people who play that way are the minority.... of course they are, you don't put anything in the game for them....duh. SWTOR actually has ALOT for solo players, which is why there are quite a few of us here. Just because you're in a guild doesn't mean you're a group PvE player. I'm a solo player, but I join guilds for social aspects. Group PvE is only one reason why people might play MMOs or join a guild.
  22. Playing for a "chance" to group is fine.... but assuming that your reason for playing is the one that should be catered to, and that people should need to group is not. I also think that some of you assume solo players are a very small minority, but that's not really the case. There are more solo players around than you might think.
