Pre nerf i was able to get 300k dage and 150k healing in an average arena or 500k damage with zero healing. Now you are saying 200k? Anyway, not going to argue this, was just hopeful that things had changed. I did love this game.

Sad Oh well, other games are coming out.

Wondering if anything has changed? Are we capable classes in PvP now, particularly DPS sages? Thanks

other DPS sages?

What are good PvP Sage numbers about 1.2?

taishartrueblood replied to taishartrueblood's topic in Sage / Sorcerer
The only way we can accurately compare our class to another or to pre-1.2 is via these numbers. As I said originally, numbers do not tell the whole story but they certainly are a good metric. -
Before 1.2 patch I would say that a good sage would end a BG with either 400k damage, 300k damage and 150k healing, or 500k healing. After 1.2, what would you say are good numbers for a sage to aim for? (Yes, it isnt all about the numbers but they are a good metric to use).

Oops, i missed that. Thought you just added color

Community Q&A – April 20th 2012 Blog Discussion
taishartrueblood replied to JovethGonzalez's topic in General Discussion
It would be nice for you to deal with real issues like PvP and class balance questions. It seems that you are only interested in answering fluff questions. -
Where did you see that dev comment?
-
amen I have played 1 time since the patch, I can't make myself want to log in when I know that my class is screwed. Kavaos, what happened to your opinion in this post of yours?
-
93 days left on my sub (stupid 1/2 year plan). I am having a hard time wanting to log in, i played in WZs yesterday and i was just tickling people, doing no real damage.

politically it is commonly "used a hatchet instead of a scalpel". Besides that I agree.

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=390806 Since the PTR board was closed (partially to shut down this thread imo), I decided to post it here. We are 6,800+ posts into the thread and people are even madder now that they are getting destroyed on the regular server.

This patch was just as bad as I predicted for PvP sages. -
What is the role of the DPS sage anymore?
taishartrueblood replied to taishartrueblood's topic in Sage / Sorcerer
The appeal to authority may take several forms. As a statistical syllogism, it will have the following basic structure:[1] Most of what authority a has to say on subject matter S is correct. a says p about S. Therefore, p is correct. The strength of this argument depends upon two factors:[1][2] 1.The authority is a legitimate expert on the subject. 2.A consensus exists among legitimate experts on the matter under discussion. These conditions may also simply be incorporated into the structure of the argument itself, in which case the form may look like this:[2] X holds that A is true X is a legitimate expert on the subject. The consensus of experts agrees with X. Therefore, there's a presumption that A is true. -

Sorry, you don't understand the logical fallacy. Not only would the appeal have to be to an expert, but there must be uniform consensus among experts on the matter. There is not. I showed you other cases where the developers, the ones who work with the game on a daily basis, were proved wrong... they are not the infallible force you believe them to be. -
come 1.2, roll a different class.

The devs also thought that panda land would work in WoW or that ToA would work in DAoC. Using an appeal to authority does not make you correct. -

I have as much math as you and considerably more experience. Anecdotal evidence isn't worth much... from a single person. When you get thousands of people saying the same thing it starts to get traction. -

I like how you think you are an expert or even average in PvP knowledge without PvPing. I know alot of internet geniuses like that Edit: Oh, and saying "Well the devs think so!" is a logical fallacy called an "appeal to authority". The devs are wrong, they are making decisions based on ignorant people whining on the forums.
