  1. Sooner, this is where we disagree. You state that there are plenty of viable PvP options... I disagree. If there were other viable options then they would already be in use (unless you think that all sage/sorcs want to spec the same way just because?). They have nerfed the only current PvP option into the dirt and have nerfed all other options as well. There arnt a myriad of good choices, there is only one currently and that is being removed with no other good choices being added.

  4. Sere, this is what I am talking about when I complain about ignorant players commenting. Yes, tyhe math shows that hybrid is losing 2.5%..... AGAINST A SINGLE TARGET. In PvP, our AE damage is at least 50% of the damage that we do and now it is going to be nerfed to nothing. In your carebear land the nerf might not matter, but in a dynamic PvP environment it is a huge nerf. Why should I role a different class as opposed to trying to get this nerf retracted? I am not a BW fanboi, I can actually think for myself... give it a try, you might like it

  6. Sorry kid, you may be a fanboi, but most of us are rational. Yes, obviously the role of a DPS sage is to do DPS.... the question is whiether or not we can do that effectively anymore. Can we keep up with other DPS? Do we have a special role to fill? You are excused from the thread, you have nothing to offer.
  7. I don't believe there is any intent to ever put meters in game or, indeed, a combat log available in game. Crazy? Yes, but thaty is BW.
  8. Lets just take your premise (though I disagree with it) that all DPS specs kill approximately equally in terms of speed, meaning that thier DPS is approximately even. Ok, but sages are, by far, the most fragile. That is a disadvantage that must be added in.
  9. I was mainly refering to Luc, but I will take a stab at it. Full TK and Balance was the original spec for most DPS sages but it simply doesnt have enough DPS to be a DPS class. Most of our damage is turret style and with that we are going to fall even farther behind come 1.2 We have no burst. Not all specs can be "played equally" unless they are balanced, the reason that everyone went hybrid was because it was the only good spec. You are a JK and, correct me if I am wrong, don't play sage except as an alt and you have little/no experiance in PvP from previous posts of yours.

  11. Without playing quote-fu, I will just respond to the last sentence. Utility is NOT what the Sage/Sorc was built for. We were built to be either the best DPS or best healing with the worst survivability. That is what our trees say, that is what the class role has been, that is what all cloth wearers in every MMORPG are always designed for (monks excluded ). They are changing the class now.... and by changing I mean nerfing. They didnt give us more versatility, they didn't give us more utility, they simply nerfed the crap out of the only things we could do.
  12. These are our advantages? We don't have superior mobility unless you are counting sprint. We have to be standing still to cast our primary damage dealing spells, other DPS can do that on the move much easier. We can do DoTs and AE, but our AE damage has been wrecked with 1.2 and our Dots tickle people, nothing more. If we actually did have good off-target damaging (freighter flyby style) then I wouldnt be complaining at all... we did have it before 1.2 with a useful spec for TKW but not we have nothing. Lots of classes can do AE, we are actually the most limited now in that department. Utility. First off, battle res is never used in PvP so I am going to discount that. Our rescue has limited usefulness, certainly it is a nice spell so I can't knock that. We can heal, but unless you are speced for it then you can't keep up. Our utility is useful overall, yes, but it doesn't overcome the destruction of our damage that 1.2 is going to do. I didn't play this class to be a jack of all trades, I played it to have mage style damage.... glass cannon. Now, as my signiture says, we are all glass, no cannon.
  13. So far no one has articulated a role for the DPS sage. Everything we can do, another class can do at least as well with fewer problems (PvP).

  15. You act as if this nerf suddenly makes our other specs viable. There's a reason people were using 13/28, our full trees suck. More bad variation = bad.
  16. THe big problem is that the 31 talent spells are crap, utter crap. The healing one is great, obviously, but the other two suck. You do more damage spamming TT or TW then using those. Fix your trees if you want to nerf us into oblivion

  20. We used to be one of the top DPSers with the best AE in the game. Now, even full spec, we are good DPS but not top tier and we have no real AE anymore. We have no burst. We do have longevity (we can cast forever), but if the fight is less then 20 minutes (being generous), that doesnt come int o play. Seriously. PvP or PvE, what is our role? Why should any group take us above another DPSer?
  21. I want PvP to MATTER. How? Either have it grant a player abilities that increase his playing skill for X number of wins (DAoC style), or have some sort of perpetual combat in Ilum affect everyone in the realm (also DAoC style). What I mean is, if Ilum is controlled by the empire then all empire players get +10% exp/money/valor/something. Make it so that people feel like they need to defend thier realm.
  22. No, i loved doing them, but they are way too easy now. I practically have all the courses memorized and I can't think of the last time I was challenged by any of them.
  23. This was a game that probably appeared in the 1990s. You picked which race you wanted to play (insect, human, cyborg, maybe some others). This was a basic fighter game where you shot down enemies/protected your bases in order to earn money which you could then spend to upgrade your ship and repair it. I remember there were "sky hooks" in the game which moved you around the map faster and that some of the enemy fighters would turn red and then try to kamakazi into you and one mission had an astroid you had to blow up into little bits. Also, while we are at it, anyone know if there is a game out there that is a spiritual decendant of Tanarus?Thanks!
  24. Looks like this has been answered. We are squishy targets that can't fight back or heal out in order to make the other classes get better self-esteem. /bitter
