  1. 1.2 was not kind to tor. They decided to aim the game at the topend players, when from the start it was a game aimed at the most casual of player bases. Gear is way too easy to get, and once you get it, there is no reason to run normal raids or flashpoints. So quickly the game devolves into pvp, 2 nights of hard operations a week and dailies. Pvp since 1.2 has become a joke on many servers, for republic especially on my server we suddenly went from winning half to winning very few, and even die hard pvpers slowly stopped logging due to lack of fun. The raid is ok, but again aimed the top end, horrible bugs and enrage timers being the usual cause for failure, bring a balanced raid instead of the primo dps classes and you may as well not bother, and the four hours of running if you fail on bosses was a real joke. Most were tired of it before the bosses were cleared. As for dailies, I have done a lot of them in my time and after the dailies in this game, I have realised i will never buy another game with dailies, and wont subscribe to this one ever again if their idea of things to do in your spare time and to raise money is dailies. They played around with many class mechanics in 1.2, the player base was loud and clear that if those changes went ahead, whether still playable or not, the fun was sucked out of many classes and builds, and quite often unjustifiably, (ie the healing changes,) and for many 1.2 went from something to look forward to, to something to regret. I thought I would play this game for years, I have played many other mmos for years straight, and this one seemed to tick all the boxes to be a good home. I enjoyed the Pvp, Pve, leveling and alting. But I did not enjoy switching my main to an alt, due to 1.2. So much of what was there before 1.2 was fun, it was like the devs said "Right, that's enough fun, let's get the hammers out and remove it from our game." It is a real shame, but such is life.
  2. With lotro, i gave the store the benefit of the doubt, and slowly but surely, one by one, all my fears were realised. I wouldn't even wait for the implementation next time, cash shop announced - sub cancelled 1 minute later. Cash shops aren't there to make gamers happy, they are there to make boardroom meetings have diagonal lines going upwards. As soon as that diagonal line starts going sideways, not up, they start breaking all their promises en mass.
  3. Worked fine for us, and we just turned when they lit, instead of going our usual n,s,s,n. Maybe we got lucky. Weirdly the top puzzle was already solved at the start, but we had to turn it left once , then back to actually solve it.
  4. 1) Right click general chat tab. 2) Click the part that says "create custom channel" 3) In the box that pops up, make a name like "Flashpoint," "Global," "Glfg," or "Server." 4) Get everybody on your server to join. 5) Hey presto from every planet, all levels, from pvp, space or heaven forbid on the fleet, you suddenly have a tool to use without having to stand around twiddling your thumbs. Maybe your ignore list will grow a little to avoid spam, no different from general on fleet anyway, no doubt, but your problems of relying only on people on fleet to do fps are gone.
  5. In fairness the game does throw a fair chunk of loot at you. This system is thrown in to protect pugs, as they expected guilds to run hard, and pugs to run normal. It is quite annoying though when you stand in on mainly alt zergs and come out with 4-5 items even your companions no longer use. If you are finding normal easy enough, don't be scared of stepping up to the hard level. You can assign loot as you please there, and the difficulty is not so harsh that it makes you cry.
  6. Thankfully this is down as fixed for the next patch, no doubt there will be an whole heap of new bugs to make us cry when it lands.
  7. This is true. Lots of servers are now adding a custom channel called something like "Flashpoint" or "GLFG". Then you can go about your business. The part about getting friends or a guild is an home truth. Most of our guild are now done with flashpoints in the main, but we will run them for alts or friends. I am done gearwise, but will often go and help people asking for an healer to help. It makes new friends usually. I would never click that auto dungeon finder though. Unless the dungeon finder you wish existed provided a tank and an healer for you and your dps friend to go off and clear in zzzz mode, no tool will ever fix that problem. Those heroics were a godsend for that reason as i leveled, those I did not do with guildmates, I pugged, and in doing so I hit 50 with a full friends list. You cannot blame the game that you are anti -social until it serves your purpose to suddenly demand 3 other mugs carry you to free loot.
  8. Yes, yes, Though art sheep, go count yourselves, and go to sleep. This is the reason why your favorite television programme is cancelled mid season and replaced by the vilest garbage reality tv series you could imagine, and makes you want to throw your television out of the window. Good job for being a sheep, Nice that people need other peoples opinion to define their lives. It is sad that people cannot use that gift and curse inbuilt into each one of us called a mind. Why can so many people not actually think for themselves, decide their own pros and cons, rights and wrongs. Well Mr sheep, seeing as you need random people on the internet, I order you to think for yourself and play the game and give your own review score, completely ignoring everybody elses.
  9. You would be on most ignore list, mine included for this approach. There is absolutely no need to ninja in this game. Our guild and friends method is to generally greed on the random trash blues and greens. For purple drops we use - Need for self, Greed for companions/greed if it's your class item- but you have it, but want to strip mods, pass if for neither. If we find that everybody passed we simply decides who wants an item for the mods, and they will loot it. You need to work on server social rules, yes there will always be ninjas who will need because they can, these soon get on 90% of peoples ignore list and complain it takes 4 hours to never get a group.
  10. Lots of servers are now making custom channels, either "globallfg", or simply called "flashpoint". This saves having to stand around the fleet. So make it, advertise it everywhere, and profit. Secondly flag yourself lfg, I look in who and see 2 people out of 200 flagged as "healer/tank lfg x dungeon", when a good 100 people out of those 200 people will be actually looking for groups. Thirdly when leveling on planets there are lots of heroics, stop being anti social, and actually run these things. Overall they offer the same level of loot as flashpoints, are often trickier to run than the flashpoints, so you can see which people can actually play to some extent. Those you get to like add to your friends list, and suggest x flashpoint after you are done, if you like the group. Hey presto you reach 50 and you have a full friends list, even if you chose not to join a guild. Stop trying to turn this game into a single player game with 3 strangers who may as well be npcs, because that approach might get you through the normal modes, but without a few friends around you won't ever see the end of an hardmode flashpoint, because 3 random strangers wont carry you.
  11. Nice and simply solved, go into chat options, create custom channel. Create "globallfg", then encourage everybody of all levels to join it. Put a few people on ignore for spamming it with anals, and after a while it becomes a tool people can use from everywhere, and for all levels, for flashpoints and heroics they may have left behind on other planets.
  12. Dear Bioware, please do a samoa, and time travel us all past the free month, so we dont have to endure the rank junk of too many of these free month then gone posters. I am tired of filling my forum ignore list. Dear Blizzard, please hire better employees to troll the bioware forums, as you have been seriously ripped off.
