  1. But sir, the odds of successfully avoiding the Cartel Market are approximately 3720 to 1! QS
  2. but... these go to eleven! (just wanted you to know your comment raised a smile-ta!) QS
  3. Think of it as a form of Cathar-sis till you get to play them Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress! QS
  4. Great for those of us with alts, so ty! However, I'd like to add my voice to the PVP side of the argument. Increasing WZ comms gained (and valour too I guess) to be in-line with the XP increases would be awesome, especially if we're trying to max the comms gained till we hit 50. It's not a huge deal. I can slow myself down by playing on weekdays if need be. But it'd be nice, y'know? Cheers! QS
  5. I think you just got lucky. Or I am very *un*lucky. I still ctd a lot. I can go about 3, maybe 4 warzones and then I'll crash. Logging in and out of characters hastens the crash still. So no fix my end, and it's been like this since 1.4 - I dearly wish they'd do something about it! QS
  6. The Joker by Steve Miller Band for the smuggler QS
  7. Fantastic! This thread always cheers me up! Awesome QS
  8. I would love to see this added as adaptive gear: http://d2bm3ljpacyxu8.cloudfront.net/width/198/crop/0,0,198x350/www.chemayla.net/primeval%20ardetn%20blade%20c.jpg http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear/15862/primeval-ardent-blades-vest I currently wear it on my trooper, but being medium armour has gimped me a bit in PVP QS
  9. I think this possible Machinima thread is worthy of a mention! Cheers! QS
  10. I got mine from Amazon just a couple of days ago. They have them for £80 delivered (as opposed to £100-125 everywhere else). I needed a new mouse anyway, and I play SWTOR a lot, so took the plunge. Loving it! To be fair, it takes some getting used to. I had to keybind 12 different characters, but it didn't take too long! I've rearranged my quickbars into a 3x4 grid to mirror the button placement, and it helps some to do it like that. Then just play against some mobs, see which skills you need easy access to immediately and rearrange their positioning. Also I've not tried it wireless yet. I've used wireless mice before (though this was several years ago) and they're never as reliable, input-wise, as a wired mouse in my experience. So far though, all good. I believe the crystal thingy is now over though, which is a shame. Would love to have grabbed one of those crystals! Cheers! QS
  11. It's frustrating I guess when people don't play to your own sense of morality, etiquette and fairness. One FP the healer needed on everything and taunted another player for raising an objection. "**** - it's only a game!" A vote to kick was initiated and 2/3 of us voted him off the group. The third person was incredulous. "You kicked the HEALER?" Truth was, he wasn't actually healing that much/well anyway. I died twice before we kicked him. I off-healed and nobody died. We completed the FP one person down and with no more wipes. I've seen it bring out the best in people too though. Another time a F2Per needed on stuff that was of no use to him whatsoever. He ignored me and other members trying to explain to him, in an incredibly polite and accomodating manner, a little etiquette. Long story short, I ended up with nothing of value from a 45 minute Black Talon run, despite the majority of the drops being for my class. of which I was the only one. We were all being inclusive towards this F2Per as, you know, we're trying to help out and make people feel welcome so they're not turned off the game right at the start. At the end, one of the group members offered to take me through the FP again so I could grab the loot that had been needed on by Mister F2P. Which was a lovely thing to do! I certainly don't hate on F2P players. I enjoy this game a lot, and hope others are attracted to it and want to come play with us all. Fostering a good atmosphere and making their experience a good one goes some way towards that goal. QS
  12. I had a thought the other day (just the one, though!). With the invisible 'covert armour' chest piece coming in cartel packs (which is 'invisible'), how hard would it be to make a covert armour piece for the headslot? I mean, it's invisible. And if you toggle head slot to on, it would appear as if your hood is down. Not perfect, but a possible workaround of sorts? QS
  13. Technically it's polygons, meshes and textures, but I hear ya! QS

    PvP Blunders!

Some great posts, and I've done most if not all of what everyone's posted at some point or another! I had to laugh at one blunder by an opposing player in Huttball. I'm in mid, trying to hold it to get the ball as the opposition scores. In the brief seconds before the ball re-appears after a goal, this particular opponent stuns me and jumps up onto the ball spawner at mid. Of course they'd just changed the rules in the previous patch, and they insta-died. Bless! Was fun to watch though! QS
  15. Ignore will exclude people on your ignore list when looking for groups via group finder. It won't do it for Warzones. Hope that helps, QS
  16. Sounds reasonable to me. I have a few characters on a US PVP server I'd love to move to my Euro PVE one
  17. But that's anecdotal. I could easily tell you my anecdotal story too which is that local outlets seemed to have plenty, and they weren't sold out at online retailers I frequent either. QS
  18. I won't labour the point but I do this kind of thing myself! My most successful game sold 5,000 copies. Nothing great really. But I made it free for a day and it got 10,000 downloads. When people ask how well it's done, I always say 'It's been downloaded 15,000 times'. It's not factually incorrect, just as saying SWTOR has sold 2.4m copies isn't factually incorrect. Neither of us are 'lying'. But as a journalist, my very first question to EA would have been 'Is that 2.4m sold at retail/digital, or shipped to retail?' It may have sold 2.4m into retail, with only 1.7m actually sold to consumers. Without knowing for sure, saying it's sold 2.4m copies is still correct Anyway, I'll let it go. It's just always been something that bothered me! QS
  19. This is my point though. Companies would, a lot of the time, say they 'sold' a certain amount - it looks a lot more impressive to say 'we sold 1m copies' when in reality they'd sold that 1m into retail but had only really sold 500k to consumers. Which makes a sale not always a 'sale' As you yourself say, " Its unlikely that someone would pay 50 to 150 bucks and let it sit on the shelf." I completely agree with you. And for that reason the 700k that did not sub at all has always not sat right with me and made me think they are literally the copies still sat on the shelf at retail. Thanks for the response. QS
  20. Just a quick point about the 2.4million box sales and the 700k that never subscribed. A long time ago I worked on a games industry trade paper as a journalist. Companies would always boast about their sales figures. What a lot of them did (including EA at the time if I remember correctly) was bolster their figures by giving me the 'shipped' numbers. i.e. the amount of boxes that had been sold to retailers, not the amount actually sold by retailers to consumers. Because of this I would always end up asking if these were 'shipped' or actual 'sold' figures - and nine times out of 10, they would have to go hunt for the 'sold' figures In my experience, this a probable explanation for the mystical '700k' that never even installed the game. Unless of course someone has a link that I've missed that shows the 2.4 million boxes were actually *sold* and in consumers hands, but they just didn't bother to install it. Interesting discussion though. A good read! QS
  21. I kinda like your ideas, thanks for posting them One addition I'd love to see personally is a your level progress bar displayed somewhere for each character, so if you're level 23 for example, you can see how far along you are on that level. Why would that be useful? Well, if you have an hour to play, you might want to know which of your characters you can get to the next level within that time. So you might have two characters at level 23. Character 1 turned 23 last time you played. Progress bar is minimal. Character 2 is 3/4 of the way to 24. Progress bar is 3/4 full on the character select screen. If I had just an hour to play, I could, without loading in any characters to check, make a snap decision to play character 2 as the info on the character select screen would indicate I'd likely level up in that time. Just a thought anyway... QS
