  1. You know what's funny? Carpal tunnel is actually MORE IMPORTANT than 'content' to a lot of people who play enough (and have jobs that aggravate it), while not playing SO MUCH that they have run out of content. Because a game built for people who play 18 hours a day isn't really what most people are likely looking for. And having this (as the above person said, with spec setcs of binds, skill points, gear, and UI settings) would probably save on the order of 500 clicks each time. So yeah, I have come to the conclusion that this should be an A priority with PvP and spec-switching built so integrally into the way the game is played.
  2. Is there really new voice content? I doubt this, but will bite my tongue if it is the case. (afaik, all the classes have the same coice content, irrespective of race.) Also, his point is not that individuals wouldn't decide it was worth $15/mo, but that The Market (not the CM, but the Worldwide MMORPG Purchasing Market) decided (by unsubscribing) that it wasn't worth $15/mo.
  3. I'll disagree with this. IF the new race required a new skeleton (like a quadraped), THEN I might understand a true cost to the racial add. But this race is very much limitied to facial features. Few if any gear changes need to be made to accomodate the race - heck, probably none, since cathar companions exist. So this added race cost Bioware ~$0 to create, and charging subscribers for it seems... unnecessary.
  4. Still obsessed with cantina tokens and possible hidden achievements… Has anyone found any achievements related to putting tokens in each of the Cantina jukeboxes? It seems like such a logical place to put an achievement, but I haven’t spotted any notice of one yet.
  5. Allow me to taunt some of the players responding here, including the OP, I think: In regards to 'leaderboard' assessment by some of you, There are very few things on the leaderboards that actually reflect what one SHOULD be doing in the PvP scenarios. I am pretty certain that the "dude" with the highest Damage Done, the most noticeable stat on the leaderboard, is NOT doing what he/she SHOULD be doing in a match. EVEN if that person is DPS. Killing is seldom an actual goal in the PvP scenarios given in this game (Only in Ancient Hypergate). In many cases, killing is a waste of time, and in some cases, detrimental to the goal of winning the match. (Huttball - geting killed is a speedpass to a defensive position.) While I actually love most of the PvP scenarios the game has to offer, I hate the way Bioware has decided to reward silly things like damage and kills. So those of you who think you're ultimate duuuuudes at PvP because you have highest damege/kills/(even healing n some cases) - Lurn2play. Distinguish the GOAL from the "things you get credit for."
  6. YUP. Best teams do this: "Snow Clear." "spot 3 guarding grass" (the one guy incoming from recent death) "2 mid..." "stay frosty, 3 unk" (which is why mics win in pvp - not as easy to relay 'trivial' info like where enemies are accounted for.)
  7. Or they slow your guys down Just. That. Much. Or one of your team gets killed on the way. Or a teammate is stuck behind the 'in' door. Or 'something unexpected' happens. Which is the **nature** of combat. I repeat, defending a held asset FTW. Recovering a lost asset that was recently held: risky and very annoying, if even possible.
  8. LOL. I like this logic. Because this is what the opponent is thinking. "I'll just go solo, and waste my time and his time and get nothing done." Or you could assume you opponent is smarter than a brick. To assume that it's just one incoming is the height of... something. Remember that little, "A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush" rubric? Seriously. Defense of a held asset >>> attempting to grab a potential asset. (most of the time - there are exceptions, determined by strategy.)

    PvP Guide

The most awesome thing about this post? While killing other players and surviving is important in PvP, it only directly contributes to a win in one warzone, and it's only a minor contributor in that case. (blatant self plug). So as important as gear is, Strategy, situational awareness, goal-oriented play, and persistence win every time.
  10. Tired of this argument. Making the game EASIER ON PLAYERS is not the same as making the game EASIER TO 'WIN'. Games aren't work. WoW made it 'expensive' because they are MEAN and STUPID. I don't care if they have 20 million players - just means 20 million stupid people, willing to subject themselves to bad treatment, imho. Make the game friendlier to more people. More people will play the game. People can plan their builds away from time-sensitive game situations, save the builds and equipment loadouts and keybinds, and be ready to switch over FAST and SIMPLE when everyone is chomping at the bit to get into the Op/FP/PvP/etc. Not everyone knows every proper build for every character they have all the time. Not everyone remembers to switch every piece of equiment every time they switch from Tank to DPS or from PvE to PvP. Making the game challenges harder for the characters to overcome is good game design. Making the game harder to play for the players is petty and shortsighted. Flame ON.
  11. Seems ridiculous to me that anyone can assume solo guarding, even for a well geared tank, is good strategy. 2 non-stupidly played anything are likely to be able to get that solo guarder far enough away from a node to cap it. 3 would make it downright trivial. Of course, the guarder can get lucky. But to count on it? Lunacy. Leave a tank and a haeler on your 'gotta keep it' node. Let the other 6 players wreak havoc on the other team, and be fluid on where to go - 6 should be able to take out 2 guarders before they know it. If you spot a node with 2 guards - BUG OUT AND GET TO THAT NODE! If all the defenders kite with you to the new node, SEND BACK A STEALTHER TO CAP THE UNGUARDED NODE! 'Be like the Water.' - Bruce Lee. 'Hit 'em where they Ain't' - me.
  12. I can only hope that some extremely well armed ****** spots you doing this behavior and proceeds to embarass you. Because bullying is wrong, and Justice is eminently satisfying. "The ultimate expression of power is restraint." - Me, just now.
  13. I know every movie I go to where there's an overwhelming power trying to destroy a weak, non-belligerent enemy with no hope of beating the undefeatable foe, I root for the giant remorseless killing machine and not the scrappy underdogs. Nice.
  14. So you’re that hero in the 3rd movie that kills all the helpless ‘younglings’. The one Amidala falls madly in love with because he got her pregnant and then tries to choke her to death. Kudos! “Search your feelings, Padawan.”
