  1. No offense but I think you guys are being too close minded about it all. Why does it have to be just planets. Why not epic - truly epic - space stations. Hasn't anyone wanted to tour a death star - I mean the scale of those space stations are monstrous. Imagine fighting mobs in the power core of a massive space station. The giant crevaces like in ep4. Snaking your way through an intricate maze of corridors and levels with impressive space vistas out the window. Otherwise if thats a bridge too far and you're developing a new art scheme anyway - I was always really puzzled why Kashyyyk wasn't included at launch.
  2. Not the greatest rip-off but a bit of fun...... <To the tune of Def Leppard - Pour some sugar on me!> Legacy's the bomb, you've really got it on Livin' like a hunter with lightning storm Jedi's a chiss, a blue man sham Novare coast, Iovin' pvp man. Denova 'n' legacy 'n' a flashy new UI Transferred to Asia, now I go all night From sometime to alltime, this ping is sweet Little Taun taun following me, yeah So c'mon, take a bio, write it up Break the silence, twitter it up Pour some 1.3 info on me Ooh, in the name of love Make an announcement for me C'mon, fire me up Pour your 1.3 info on me Oh, I can't get enough Rockjaw you pommy, tweet! From your hands to your cell, yeah
  3. For those of you not familiar with contemporary Australian advertisements that have become part of the vernacular. "Not happy Jan" = "I am experiencing extreme annoyance at your actions"
  4. Bioware, Let me start by saying I like your game a lot. I am also really looking forward to these transfers - and can't wait to play local! Playing on a local server is a first for me, having only previously been stuck on West Coast USA servers before with other games. However, when it comes to these transfers I just feel like Ive been misled over a number of communcations from you. Whether that is my misinterpretation of your messages or not, I just don't feel like the messages of how this process was going to happen has been communicated very well. My current issue is about the 28 Feb 12 cut-off date for transferring characters that existed at this time. At face value the 28th Feb constraint seems like it is an arbitrary date, purely there because it was the opening date of the Asia Pac servers. There may be another reason why - but I just can't see it at the moment. Personally, I took the messages communicated at the time from you that the legacy level for any chars on the Asia Pac servers (which would undoubtably be smaller than your US/EU server legacys') would be overwritten when the character transfers were to happen. What was I left to do? I had already levelled a character to 50 on a US server but wanted to explore your additonal content without a penalty. It wasn't as though I was going to stop playing. So to continue my progression I have been happily levelling alts post 28 Feb 12 on my US server. Now I feel attached to all my characters pre and post 28 Feb 12 - they are all part of my legacy family so to leave some behind is not an option for me. I have financially invested in their gear (in-game), have spent time I would not want wasted levelling them up and become attached to their specific look crafted through character creation. To have to spent additional money transferring these partially levelled characters in the future when we could do so now really frustrates me as a customer. I think its important to also remember that the 28 Feb was 7 weeks ago - almost 2 full months of gaming time and roughly half as long as the game has been officially released. What were you expecting us to do during this time - if Asia Pac server legacy was going to be overwritten and characters created post 28 Feb could not be moved? It just seems a no win situation and we could have taken no steps to avoid a penalty to progression in either case. My hope would be that you allow an unrestricted movement of characters until the cut-off time for when transfers close or at least some date somewhat close to cut-off. This is what happens in other MMOs and I don't see why SWTOR should be held to a lesser standard. Otherwise could you elaborate on why the 28th deadline is so important over being just an arbitrary date. I guess that clarification would help in some way. Lastly I still want to project that I am really happy you made the decision to offer the transfers free to us in the red-zone who technically 'did the wrong thing' by buying the game early because we were so excited for it. I think we are some of your most passionate fans, and wish for this game to continue for a long, long time to come. Well done on 1.2 and I'm looking forward to hear whats coming in 1.3. cheers Saaz.
  5. another 5 makes it 0.241% --------------------- sorry finally got it around 33ish odd hilts
  6. But my specific scenario is (0.8)^22 which equals 0.00738 probability of occuring.... or 0.738% Just seems crazy. I'll make another 5 and see how I go
  7. I know that some people have bad luck.... but I was making a Might Hilt 9 for an alt. The tooltip states 20% chance to discover. I have made approximately 22 hilts trying to get the discovery....... Using my basic math I think the probability of that happening is less than 1 percent. Am I just unlucky or is this broken?
  8. Guys, Just wondering which class - Marauder or Jugg - have the ultra cool armor set shown in the CGI vids. The set the Sith warrior minions that fight with Malgus. It has the pointed head armor and claw armoured gauntlets. I really hope its an orange set!! Looking forward to your responses. Saaz
  9. "On character transfer the higher of the two legacies will take priority" Really? So your lesser legacy xp character gets overwritten by the higher? Gosh - surely it shouldnt be so hard to benchmark a legacy allowance per character to allow them to transfer with 'x' legacy. I've rolled an Asian/Pacific character because the latency is great being a local server but the free transfer is still 2 months away. Now I'm really enjoying the new character I've made but with todays information at the guild summit, every time I go to log on to the new character I say - "oh no I wont I dont want to waste any legacy experience, better go on another character that I dont really want to play but oh well." Can't you find a way that I can play the character I want to play now without the punishing wasted legacy xp when I transfer over my 200 hrs+ characters?
  10. Hey guys I just finished reading Drew's "Revan" and wondering where the best parts/stories in TOR are that tie in to what happened in the book. I've played through a Sith Inquisitor and started a bounty hunter, but the Inquisitor storyline specifically does not seem to really touch on the events in the books. The inquisitor seems to be more strongly linked with Teneb Kel in some of the earlier comics. I hear I should do 'The Foundry' as that instance sums up Revan's fate but where is Darth Scourge?? Also do any of the storylines take you anywhere near the Emperor? Thanks
  11. Thanks for the update Bioware. I have an immediate question regarding the legacy levels and character transfer that affects my current gameplay. I'm about to finish my first act on a new character on the new servers I wish to transfer to. I therefore have to pick a legacy name. I was thinking of naming my new Aus character legacy the same as my US legacy. Will this cause any problems when it comes time to transfer? Thanks - I know you guys are busy with the guild summit but any advice you have is appreciated.
  12. 'Smooth' launches are only for US customers. Remember that being Australian you're in the future anyway, so your dissatisfaction hasn't even happened yet.
  13. Expectation management is hard. At least that's what I hear. The community wouldnt be crying if they hadn't build up an expectation of when transfers would happen, which has been repeatedly stated by Bioware as happening very close after the server launch.
  14. Biowares statements to all Asia / Pacific users: "First of all welcome to the red zone. 1. You are excluded from launch. 2. If you ordered at launch anyway despite our exclusions you will get a transfer to Asia/Pacific when we launch in that region. 3. Oh, except if you didnt register as being in the red zone when you registered. 4. Actually...those transfers....they'll be two months after the server opens. Enjoy TOR." Good work guys.
  15. I'm really disappointed with the way character transfers are being handled. The current FAQ which seems to have been updated today states that character transfers are happening in "late April"?! What two months away? Seriously? What happened to March? Also, those character transfers are only open to those who registered as being Australian at launch?! What?! You mean those people who registered as being from a country in the red-zone at launch - when Bioware SPECIFICALLY excluded Australia and tried to restrict (through limited online and store ordering) those in Australia? I have to admit being one of those that couldnt wait - I wanted SWTOR and ordered it from overseas with no expense spared. In fear of reprisal I registered under my old US address. Now I find out that I am getting excluded from getting a transfer due to a condition that Bioware was going to enforce in the future without notice at the time I actually registered? I mean, again, What?! So far all information from Bioware regarding character transfers for Asian / Pacific customers has been "Yes - it will happen - don't worry about it - we got it and you'll get one." Followed by a "Now we are only going to give transfers to those customers who luckily complied with a rule we didnt communicate when you actually registered. And also for these customers who against common sense registered as a country we specifically tried to exclude when we actually launched the game." Please - please - don't tell me my 200 hours+ characters are not going to excluded from transfer - I have invested a rather large amount of time into building my characters/legacy and to abandon them now due to a mistake I could have never have foreseen is a catastrophic problem for me. I look forward to your advice. I really hope you can help here. Saaz
  16. I believe the technical term for these wing extensions have been termed "Strike Foils" because I quote the tech manuals here, "The Fury also features a newly designed set of ‘strike foils’ that remain down for travel but can be expanded in short range combat to maximize the ship’s agility and range of firepower." So while one might ask why these foils deploy for interstellar transit, the fact remains that the use and design of these strike foils are woeful for today's discerning modern sith.
  17. First let me start off by giving all SWTOR players a notice of impending recall for all sith ship related travel activities. It has come to my attention that during the design of the Fury class vessel a Republic SIS operative coerced one of the leading Ugnaught Flight control engineers to include a fatal flaw in the ship design. Certain footage of the operation of the Fury class shows that in nearly all cases when the ship conducts a vertical take-off, the wing extensions open and 'shake' into position, before the ship flies off into the atmosphere/space. Let me reiterate - the wing extensions open and 'SHAKE' into position. This engineer used PNEUMATICS (or alternatively a very large spring) to control the extension and retraction of the wing extensions. How this error passed through Imperial Quality Assurance and Flight Testing is unknown but suffice to say that the issue is now under investigation. Since the deceleration between the ships climb to hover is enough to make the wing extensions flap around 10 degrees in a long period oscillation, this spring must be extremely weak and serve no aero-elastic or load carrying function. Indeed, if this ship was to fly in normal atmosphere, it is likely the wing extensions would vibrate loose of the fuselage causing catastrophic failure. So all Sith Furys are recommended to be towed (not flown) to your nearest imperial ship garage so the proper retrofit of a hydraulics system can be made as the preferred means of flight control. This will mean increased performance and a safer space travelling environment for all!!
  18. Can you guys help me with my SWTOR addiction when not online? The security ap for iPhone is just awesome but what about GTN access, crafting or just simply an easier way to navigate the forums / get updates - thanks
  19. I recently just got to the end of the voss stories on my way to 50. To be honest I struggled to take down the end bosses in some of the stories while soloing (Sith Inquisitor story and the Avatar particularly). What is your design philosophy for some of these end world bosses - as I feel they could present real bottlenecks for less practised gamers.
