  1. Hundreds who were promised the coins and it was clear cut - if you 'SAW THE PROMO IN YOUR LAUNCHER' - you will be granted the coins. I'm still waiting, like many others. The fact that some players who play together(couples) one has been given the coins, the other hasn't - that's just how random this nonsense is.

I'm just amazed there's been no response from Bioware as they again bury their heads in the sand and forget that an MMO is a 24 hour operation. The UK DOES have Internet access you know.

  2. Players are hardly buying whats there now as its nothing more than reskinned crap and is far from £30 value.

Yes - the fanboys will say 'well don't buy them' - and I don't any longer. But, importantly - remember when Eric told you all that this new pack offers better value, therefore justified to increase the price from 5400 to 6300?

Check your Collections and look back at the history of the Cartel Packs. Some offered a ton of armour sets (hardly any reskins), emotes, stuff, mounts, crystals all in a SINGLE pack totting up to around 4 pages of items to collect.

Then fast forward to the Gemini tat pack - 2 pages of pure uninspiring tat with a much reduced chance of getting any armour sets or rares at all. If they are looking to boost flagging Pack sales - look back at history and offer the players a reason to buy them without reskinning everything or being lazy with Stronghold items

  3. After James talked about 'Single player' and 'story' -

about the importance of story and how to recreate that SW magic. just how important players working together is and how side characters play key roles in working together to defeat a common enemy - just like in the movies and that its 'NOT a lone wolf story'.

So poor James is probably thinking 'damn'.

  4. I m curious to how many ppl will tell those 3 mamals that normal stream the monthly state of the galaxy to go around the bush and shove it really hard upon their buttocks ^^.

Resubbed, was a mistake, i guess safter my subs days wear off i won't touch th game and will unsitall it untill swtor next season and even then i will wait at least a couple months so i can do the average backtracking story with 20 minutes of awful cutscenes. Bioware if you were ever to aim at the crappiest expansion, well, my friends, you have succeded. I can't even understand why you say chapter XV is good ??? I ve more replayability on Medieval total War, that was launched 11 years ago than playing this game...

lol. Ive watched just 1 live stream as it made me wanna puke after. Watching the devs pat themselves on the back for achieving bare minimum in their game, avoiding key issues, and waffle on about other non relevant stuff is truly something you gotta see to believe.

  5. Is there a toggle or setting that prevents messages from being deleted after 30 days?

Nope. I'm not sure how it works, but key emails remain saved (rewards, updates from class story etc) but selling/expired listed stuff is deleted after around 30 days.

  6. And none for the past 2 weeks. That's across ALL my 24 toons on TRE, 8 on Harb and 5 on Shadowlands and even includes Lowbies & mid tier too. I've had around 10 Queshballs pop in that time.

    Current cycle is

    Waste of time Arena

    Hypergate

    Hypergate

    Civil War

    Arena

    Arena

    Arena

    Odesson (yawn!)

    Voidstar

    Coast

    Hypergate

    Civil War

Q appears to be broken, or I am again just bang out of luck. Even when you search ' The Pit', theres no one there as it hasn't popped

  7. So, I've saved enough Cartel Coins for a Hypercrate, but which one is better? Which one holds more value in items? Gemini or Dark vs Light? What is your thoughts and why? Thanks in advance.

I would probably hold fire until the next pack arrives. Why? Cartel packs are FULL of crap that drops like a stone in value(if you are looking to sell items on the GTN). The DvL packs don't have any chance cubes - which are pretty useless too and another excuse for Bioware to offer very little compared to the previous run of Packs).

Plus because the packs aren't selling as well as they used to, due to the lack of whales in the game now (check your GTN) - the prices will drop within the next couple weeks due to lack of up take.

However, if you are looking for personal use, I would probably take a punt on the DvL packs as you stand a better chance of dropping parts of armour sets.

  8. Not really. I think Bioware are on 'Content Drought Tour 2016' - the 5th year in a row where the game has suffered serious content drought. Made more glowing at the lack of any real end game after over 12 months.

If you love flushing £10 down the toilet for 30 minutes of cut scene and Pet Recruitment yawn fest that is KoFte and entertaining Biowares apparent lack of what is coming next(if anything) - the Dark vs Light event should demonstrate that they clearly have nothing to offer. They have reskinned everything, now its time to recycle - and that is never good.

With the DvL packs now on sale too, its clear that the game has spiralled into a 'Cash Grab' - pay more for less (compare the Cartel Packs from old vs the new ones and you miss out on 2 extra pages of stuff - REAL proper stuff like armour, yet they see fit to charge 6300 for them).

Mine runs out in 10 days and this will probably be my final farewell as Legion arrives and I haven't touched WoW since 2007. Hell, even Rift is updating to 64 bit support! That's the future.

  9. No, they said they'd reward f2p who became subs before 12th. That was a poorly worded promotion.

Actually, they didn't. Eric said that 'if you saw the promo, you will get the coins'. It's as black and white as you can get. Stop trying to defend the indefensible.

    Hey folks,

Just to alleviate any confusion, I am seeing two questions in this thread to address:

How do I receive the bonus coins?

Similar to last time, this was a targeted promotion. If you saw the promo in your launcher and subscribed, you are eligible for it. As a reminder, always keep your eyes open for new promotions appearing in the launcher!

When will I receive the bonus coins?

If you were eligible and subscribed by the cutoff, the coins will be granted over the next few days. The hope is to have all of the coins granted today, but they should be granted in full by early next week.

Thanks everyone! Apologies for any confusion.

  10. So, I just received a reply from customer service. It seems that the information at customer service raises further questions about the eligibility of the promotion, and it seems to contradict the information provided by other players in this thread, and by Eric Musco earlier last week. Many people in this event report that they are long-term subscribers to the game and received the targeted promotion in their launcher. This is what Eric Musco had to say last week:

This quote seems to suggest that the person coding the algorithm to target the promotion was fully aware of what the conditions are to be eligible for extra CC to be subscribed on July 7th.

Now customer support tells us that people who were previously subscribed do not count towards this bonus CC grant, and that the promotion was "targeted at players who were not previously subscribed", and they "had to activate a subscription on the seventh".

Just so I get this right: You send a targeted promotion to players who weren't even eligible in the first place?

As I explained in my post: It seems that some of the targeted accounts weren't even eligible for the promotion. They have to check a lot more than just who receives the CC. Someone handling the database queues and the promotions team have just made a huge mistake.

    That makes zero sense.

I've had a sub for almost 2 months in a row - saw the advert on or around the 4th or 5th of July I think in my launcher - my sub runs out in 11 days. I still don't see any coins. So who knows whats going on and Biowares silence on the matter is deafening.

  11. Hey folks,

We have seen a few questions about a special bonus for subscribing that some players had seen in their launcher. Some of you may not realize this but our launcher has new functionality which allows us to do very specific and very targeted campaigns. This particular promotion was a test of that functionality. We chose a sampling of active, non-subscribers, to give a special bonus offer for becoming a subscriber. Simply put, if you could see the offer in your launcher, then you were eligible and those coins will have been granted to you already. If you did not see it, then you weren't eligible for this test offer. This promotion was not "everyone who is subbed by 4/11 qualified," which is why it was not advertised outside of the targeted promo in the launcher.

Our goal is to see how well targeted offers go, so that we can look to roll out more offers to everyone in the future. I hope this clears up any confusion. Thanks!

    -eric

I saw it in my launcher for the past week and got nada. So clearly that isn't right or something isn't working - again

  12. Did they remove the Wings of the Architect when I wasn't looking? The achievements for completion of content? HSF drop some pretty nifty decos that aren't available anywhere else, not to mention the armor set pieces for first-time completion of each HSF. Completion of TEC gets you stuff unavailable anywhere else for that matter.

Yeah because they are all recent - not - and added during a period when Bioware actually put some effort in.

  13. Given the obvious proliferation of pack items on the GTN each pack cycle.. I think it is safe to assume that for a lot of players... yes.. packs are worth the CCs (which by the way are not all purchased). And the reason you don't see packs or hypercrates lingerling on GTNs... is because they get snapped up almost immediately. ;)

You don't have to like it, and you certainly don't have to participate in buying packs with CCs (I don't), but you cannot deny their popularity with the wider player base.

Many still are.. as they can only be farmed from within the game. and.. the same evil /RNG is at play there, as well as in may cases group competition for a super rare drop.

Personally, I'm fine with some highly desirable cosmetic items being in Packs. Any given pack release generally has a super rare weapon or armor or mount that drives sales.... which in this day and age of MMOs.. is fine IMO. The fact that any player can freely trade/sell said items to other players is what makes it acceptable in my view... as you do not have to actually pay real money for CCs to go up against /RNG.

It has nothing to do with the packs being 'popular'. Once the cool timer expires, you tend to see 10-20 packs listed all within a few credits of each other. Now you hardly see 1. Therefore only 1 or 2 packs are posted and they may be purchased. 1 or 2 is a far cry from the 10-20 listed a year ago.

The whole 'you don't have you buy' is kinda boring now and I remember you being Biowares fan boy. Glad to still see you are posting nonsense. I used to buy packs with credits because the packs over the past 12 months simply do not represent good value.

And yes, its great to have rare items in packs but not when they are the ONLY rare items in the game. Players pay a subscription and the last time I checked, only tacky reskinned walkers were offered as 'rare' awards. That is not how MMOs work. A rare item is something you work for, spend ages trying to achieve it, that's where its value comes from. Not because someone hasn't either got the £20/50 million credits to spend opening packs or due to the poor drop rate in those packs. Stop kissing their backside!

  14. As many have pointed out - the Cartel Market saved this game. But. That was 3 years ago and clearly the changes to the packs and the amount of crap you get in them are less attractive to players. Are these packs really worth £20? The fact there's hardly any on the TRE GTN proves that even those whales aren't buying them any more.

A rare item should be something you EARN and it should not be rare because its found in a Cartel Pack - and that, is sucking what little life there is, out of the game.

  15. I actually resubbed to see what has changed after not playing just after KoFTE dropped - as it was a very poor recruitment drive for more pointless stupid pets(aka companions).

The new Warzone brought me back and also made me quit again. VERY poorly designed and planned as you run around like a headless chicken trying to find the action.

Importantly, I noticed several key things - mainly the lack of 'whales'. They are the people who buy up all the Cartel Hypercrates and put them for sale on the GTN. I haven't see ONE Hypercrate for sale in 4 weeks. I do see individual old packs selling for 1-32m on TRE GTN with a handful of the newer packs at 2m each. 12 months ago, 30x packs would sell for 5-10m and individual packs 100-400k

It's also very sad Bioware have just spent these past months reskinning everything and anything to shove in these packs and now a rare item isn't something you EARN, its rare because it comes from one of these crappy packs. THAT is killing the game - no wonder servers are low population 80% of the day.

    Such a shame.
