  1. 7.x has been an utter disaster in terms of content. iirc, it has been an all time low in story, pve, and pvp additions. pvp had the most "work" done on it with 7.2, but all they really did was replace one queue with another and add one arena map. meanwhile they effectively removed any sort of "progression" end game from the mode (now everything is effectively Story Mode). pve OPs are a mess with R-4. story, which was (I think) the mainstay of the three modes before 7.x, was probably the most neglected, probably to allow devs to devote time to pruning and redesigning the character sheet? (and eliminating any semblance of progression end game content 😄). although personally, I thought story was trash since maybe Ossus (I liked the planet, but the story was super bland).
  2. comically, the only reason for me to sub at this point is to post here, and I'm doing it on a different account anyway. no need to resub when the time comes unless the rules change. so I'll take the small victories.
  3. I was going to say I don't think this would work at all in WZs, but again, it's not that you wouldn't still have class stacking. it's just that you wouldn't have premade class stacking. so I guess it could work. I don't know if I agree with how "easy" it would be to implement or how pressing an issue it is though. anyway. it is intriguing.
  4. i actually like the idea of limiting class in grps to just 1 per role (so you cannot have two PT dps but you can have a PT tank and PT dps). but I also think this is a minor QoL tweak at a moment when there are a solid 6+ catastrophic, game breaking issues that take precedence. it wouldn't hurt late night arena pops when half the queue is op and sin dps so long as the ops aren't grouped. and this would serve as a "soft" incentive to break-up premades (which you are all for?). but it's very low on the totem pole, as already mentioned.
  5. that’s not true. even the half arsed way they ran it required more effort than they were willing or capable of giving. and calling it half arsed is being kind. er. wait, 0 effort for the 50 or BW?
  6. crystal meth. hehe. brilliant. (prolly get an infraction point for that statement on this board though).
  7. actually.... balance issues are applicable to all aspects of the game. matchmaking is pertinent to that small fraction that plays pvp. that said, whenever there's a balance change that a PVE player doesn't like, he blames it on PVP and (mostly) vice versa. 😄
  8. the fact that you can complete virtually anything with any class (or solo) in this game is a product of game shaping. that has nothing to do with casual. casual pvp players, just like casual pve players, are still going to see/feel and ask for balance changes. There's always a healer who's better for one thing or another, tank, range, etc. the game shaping issue is more along the lines of pvp players and raiders (hardcore or casual) have been "pruned" in a manner of speaking since...gawd. I don't know. Since the 2nd xpack when they basically gave up on end game content outside of story?
  9. balance is incredibly important to both pvp and pve. I'm not sure what you're saying here. casual players in both formats will either A) flock to the fotm class/spec because it's easy for a casual to pick up and play, or B) bemoan loudly that their chosen class/spec is woefully underpowered, and they are therefore pushed out of progression spots and have nothing to do but organ grinder SM content. The latter are also the most likely to complain about fotm in WZs. Or not bemoan loudly and simply login less.
  10. 😄 "sometimes." you either have a very selective memory, or you don't play arenas nearly as often as I do, because players would be vote kicked every 3rd match on SF, and SF is the "kindest" of the servers (from what I gather). to add insult to injury, players incur a deserter debuff for being kicked. simple math: you don't make heavy handed (i.e., draconian) decisions that adversely affect 4 out of 5 players just to get at the 1 player you're targeting. Or on SF, that would be more like adversely affecting 9 out of 10 players to get at that 1 in every 10 who actually hides or tries to prolong the fight. last time I reply to you on this crusade of yours, because it is become increasingly circular: if you can figure out a way to ensure that vote to kick cannot be abused or adversely affect players who are not actually afk, then I'm all ears. but, at least in arenas, you have not presented any argument that does so. I'm not eating a deserter debuff b/c nikana and his budd(ies) feel like it. gth out of here with this. you're never going to make it work in arenas. I don't think you'll make it work in WZs either, unless it's something incredibly obvious like the guy this thread is about...which is like 1 in 30 or 40 players on SF and certainly not worth creating an easily abused draconian system over. just do your job Biosword ToS, and ban the account. edit: no. that's not fair. WZs are a lot worse. but on the other hand, why wouldn't someone afk when it's <no idea insert a guild here> smashing a bunch of pugs? or it's a map you just have no interest in playing but you're forced to b/c you have no choice over maps? perhaps instead BS could maybe address the underlying conditions that encourage AFKing (as it often happens not as the aforementioned troll uses it), like not reward quest completion for losses. not design a system that "forces" players who don't want to pvp into pvp in the first place?
  11. you seem to be under this ridiculous impression that players only use vote to kick when a player is throwing. you are wrong. full stop. players regularly lash out at others for their gear (before the match even starts) and again between rounds after some turd got globalled and ruined any hope for a victory. I know numerous players (most of whom play arenas in groups on a regular basis) who would kick any "bot" that rando'd onto their 2m and 3m teams. furthermore, if a player sees that there's is a vote kick coming, all he has to do is /stuck, and under your new proviso, he can no longer be kicked. do you see the catch-22 here? the player being discussed in this thread and those like him can only be addressed on an individual basis...OR...let players leave when they see him.
  12. 2m or 3m grp joins arena. doesn't like 4th teammate. INSTANT kick. INSTANT. ridiculously easy. not that you need the premade for this. it's ridiculously easy for 2 or 3 ppl to scapegoat someone. really. get out of here with this vote to kick garbage. I really don't care what has or hasn't happened to you. 3 randos inspect gear. don't like the 306 in their midst. INSTANT kick. edit: it's much more difficult to get consensus kicks in WZs to the extent that the mechanism was useless. ofc, being useless makes bringing it back pointless as well. but w/e. at least it isn't an easy abuse case.
  13. it takes less than five seconds to vote kick a person in arenas. you did not need to be dead to be kicked. and should you be able to vote if you're dead? what about vote kicking the person between rounds. hell, just decide between rounds to kick and the dude is out long before he can get across the map and get into combat. vote to kick is incredibly easy to abuse with or without your fix. go back to WZs and do whatever you like there. sth out of arenas with that mickey mouse vote to kick.
  14. as someone pointed out to me in fleet when I asked about this, search them in collection. make sure you don't have "owned" checked. 😎
  15. class representatives were elected to gather questions for the devs. the answers were vague, evasive, or unwelcome by most of the reps. the system fell apart immediately. the PT/VG rep went on a forum rage spree that got him banned. I'm not certain, but this may have been during the smash/stun bubble/ AP and Pyro rejig that had pretty much the entire player base upset for one reason or another. but as a means of dev communication/interaction, the attempt crashed and burned about as explosively as was possible. 😄
  16. pvp population is small. even (apparently) among those who play it...let alone like it. for whatever that's worth.
  17. do you remember the class representatives debacle? hehe
  18. just want to throw in that I completed the basic requirements for week 1 by doing the 3 arena weeklies in one night, but I'm not sure that works toward the extra 5(?) achievement tokens. I know there's a requirement for both arena and/or WZ weeklies. I just don't remember if it's "and" or "or". I recognize this! (or something like it) 😄 I recall spamming heroics to open crates just for the companion affection tokens. and I had a fully unlocked set of storage vaults to sort all the gear by slot and set. omg. what a silly grind to put myself through for gear I (mostly) didn't use and tokens I didn't wanna "waste" in-game credit on. 😐
  19. ha! I thought pops were faster today.
  20. lolno. hard pass. this is a casual game mode within a casual game. let players leave (at least during a grace period before spawn) and allow players to choose whether or not to accept back fills. the players who want to play can now play. the players who are going to cry, get pissy, or afk can now just leave. it's the best compromise you're going to ever get with this low maintenance approach that, quite frankly, has always been BW's M.O.
  21. with all due respect, JackieKo, I have used the in-game system to report this person numerous times and in each report I included video evidence. I acknowledged that I would not be informed of any action taken on the person, but with each ticket I also asked very simply if it is beneficial to record and submit videos to them or am I wasting my time? and do you know what their response was? THEY DIDN'T ANSWER THAT MOST SIMPLE, BASIC, AND INNOCUOUS QUESTION. "Is it worth uploading these videos or am I wasting my time?" really JackieKo. How the heck is going through in-game reporting worth a darn when they won't even give that much as feedback?
  22. i would avoid pvp in lowbies altogether. maybe if you've never played at 75/80 it's ok. otherwise, it's just frustrating, and there's no benefit to it. like WZ comms or learning how to play the maps (b/c ppl don't really use recognizable strats in the first place). When you hit somewhere around 70, things start feeling real. and by 75 you can actually play like you would at 80. or at least that's my recollection of it. edit: 0-75 is really just there for the various stories or to level as fast as possible. there's no reason to dally in the hugely disparate leveling brackets. and it's a rather inefficient way to level. /2cents
  23. purposely being ignored? 😄 unlikely. a low priority in composition of groups? yeah. that's likely. mathematical incompetence mumbo jumbo...not at all relevant to anything I posted. why do you two continue to reply to me about that as if I'm arguing it one way or another?
  24. i can read. you already said that. I'm just pointing out that elo in the "regs" pool isn't and cannot be very important in putting together matches.
  25. i mean...I don't pretend to know how "easy" it would be, but the priority on this elo has to be low. the priority for regs is pops. and there are way too many factors involved to be very serious about elo. look how long it took to make rated matches where elo mattered, and that was with a much smaller player pool...and not premades.
