  1. I would have to say that companions' combat performance being fixed to where it should be (like how it was in 6.0 era), is the fix I anticipate or most look forward to. But it seems that it will be a long while yet to come, until or if it ever gets fully corrected. It's a bit of a bummer that maxed out leveled companions are too weak as of now. But it isn't enough for me to quit this amazing game for forever. I'll come back to see what happens on occasion at worst. At best, I can play more if there are eventually fewer major problems. I'll always want to check back and hope that changes will come that I happen to like, even if it isn't what I was fully hoping for. I'm sad that this is my last day being subscribed and being able to post on these forums, but perhaps some day, I'll be able to be back. Am going to finish the other class stories. It takes much longer than expected. Might be a year or more if I got limited time for playthroughs. Its been fun.
  2. I got to the game late as well, been enjoying it; so I'm biased towards ignoring the major problems. I'm patient enough to wait until it is fixed but were I around for too long- I might have to play something else until I can come back to see if there is new stuff or enough fixes.
  3. This is very concerning if this is true. How do people cancel the Steam version subscription? I had assumed that because this website controls this game, that I only need to cancel or renew from this place for it to effect my account. If I only subscribed via this website, do I only need to worry about a subscription being recurring on here? I've already cancelled and expect to get subbed again when I have money set aside or once I'm done with getting legendary status and if I'm playing all the way to current story arc with my favorite class.
  4. I will admit as much that I goofed when it came to GS2. I didn't understand it and didn't research it until it was half way done, then got into a rush to complete it on time. Managed to do this, but somehow I missed a reputation achievement. I thought I was done with the event once I got the max shadow reputation rank, but it turns out you needed to complete 100 GS objectives to technically 100% it, which I failed to do. When I finally realized that there was such a requirement, it was too late. You could only complete 7 GS objectives each week, and I had only 1 week left. Its disappointing I probably can't fix my mistake, but for the next GS, I could do better maybe. I completely missed out on GS1 because I was "living under a rock" with regards to it. Was busy getting into SWTOR in general. Arrived late to the game itself. Which I enjoy enough despite its imperfections and problems. I wish I found the game sooner, like when 5.0 came out.
  5. What are some single or double bladed lightsabers which have thick blades that people could recommend? I'm dissatisfied with the end game level 80 gear lightsaber or double bladed lightsaber having a thin blade for the PVP track. I'm looking for a double bladed lightsaber which has a thick blade that really shows off the color crystal. A lightsaber which has a blade that is as thick as or thicker than the default class story weapon that you get that is moddable up to item rating 306. As an aside, has anyone found the current thickest blades to be had in the game? I've noticed that most newly released stuff tends to have thin blades like a toothpick. Do most people prefer a thick, normal, or thin width if they had to choose?
  6. It does appear to be the usual "game is dead" whining, but because SWTOR has been around for 10+ years, it is a real possibility that the game will shut down in a few years or less. I haven't seen real concrete evidence for this so far however. Like EA itself hinting at this, asides from there being fewer resources allocated to it than at its peak. What I do know, is that its true that someone likely has to switch jobs on occasion to remain more relevant or a hotter commodity. Their resume looks better and their career progresses faster/better if they had a different role every 5 years which is related or superior to the last job held- than if they stay at the same job for too long. Studies also seem to indicate that people who've switched employers periodically- get paid more money on average, because they're more likely to have had more opportunities for salary negotiations or could better show the value of their skills/expertise as being in demand. Asides from qualifications or being able to do the work, it is about knowing the right people and working well within a team. This person who left BioWare probably has nothing against them, but is doing what is right for themself to avoid being typecast as being able to only do one thing or being perceived as resting on their laurels more than truly staying competitive and current.
  7. You have my intentions wrong, I was never going to remain subbed in the first place, and that decision is completely independent of any feelings I have about the game good or bad. I like this game overall, but I simply don't have the money to stay subscibed indefinitely. I have some money I have saved up, but I have to budget it and choose when to spend it strategically. I subscribed specifically to get to Preferred status and to unlock all current story expansions. SWTOR allows players to unlock a lot of features with Cartel Coins as Preferred, so why not take advantage of that if that is what you want to do? BioWare is still making money off of that. And certain things like having no credit cap, is subscriber only features. The way I see it, I've already spent plenty of money on a subscription because when I do, I typically get the 6 months option to have a lower unit cost or better bargain or return on investment. I just can't keep it going year round. I have no compelling reason to subscribe unless if there is new story content to unlock or for when I want to do Subscriber only activities like Operations or unlimited PVP stuff. I'm willing and able to tolerate the cons of Preferred status if combined with unlocks I've bought separately. I don't like paywalls in general and if given a choice- would rather pay once and enjoy something forever, but I'm not ignorant. I do know its necessary sometimes or just part of a business model. Just be aware that in my case, it makes perfect sense for me to only subscribe intermittently as opposed to keeping a recurring one active. If I know for certain, the game is shutting down in a year or less- there is no point in me getting some cartel coins to get unlocks if I want to enjoy it for at least a few years from now.
  8. I don't know if the free market would bear it being priced at $60 or more. For that kind of money, most people expect a brand new game that is active or a state of the art remaster or something. If this would be just a fork of an already existing game or an old game whose original version became End of Life- people will perceive it to be a rip off if it's priced too high. I would pay $100 for the full game as a one time thing if it is worth it. And the work that'd need doing to bring it about would be far less than what it took to create the original game and 8 class stories in the first place. It is removing and rearranging and troubleshooting code as opposed to adding content. I hope for a single player version (eventually), mainly because I'm sort of obsessed with digital preservation. Old games which are a work of art, should be preserved until the end of time for future people to enjoy if/when possible. So much has been saved that would otherwise have been lost. There will come a time perhaps when this MMORPG is done, but the story content and base game could feasibly live on.
  9. This could be the first one to do that, but it probably won't happen. With that said, it possibly could be done as a final patch or version. It technically could be done if the people doing it, know enough about coding/programming languages. It should be easier at any rate, than adding new content to the game. To make a single player version, you just remove anything that relies on a server or multiplayer, and fix any dependencies so that it works or is playable offline. This is putting aside any licensing issues or renewal with LucasArts. I think there could be a market for this game having a separate single player version after its obsolete or end of life. A lot of game companies like Nintendo after all, have made money off their oldest titles. The oldest games if they're still sold as re-masters or re-releases, are just a few dollars each. Its a good deal for nostalgia but sensible compared to pricing something as if its a new game. It probably won't go for no $50+ like a current AAA title but plenty of money could be made if enough people buy it for the nostalgia or story. Also, all the paywall stuff should be removed for a single player version. People obviously can't be expected to subscribe if the game isn't active anymore. No credit cap, no cartel coins/cartel market, no artifact authorization requirement, no GTN, no PVP stuff, just the PVE stuff, crafting, and loot/vendors as being the only source for items in the game.
  10. I would absolutely be content or immensely pleased with a single player only version of this game that people could buy. If everything server/multiplayer centric was stripped out of it and you can store all game information locally.
  11. There is no guarantee that a new MMO from a different company with the Star Wars license will be superior to this one. I'd rather play a mature/finished game than a new game that doesn't yet have enough story content and arcs to play through. I want this game to be around for at least a few more years if I'm going to spend some money to get some cartel coins to unlock everything I can unlock as preferred. Yes, it does happen that certain people can't stick around for forever, and find new opportunities or progress their careers forward. What matters is whether their replacements are as good and what EA has to decide as to this game's fate.
  12. I don't like the idea of a character database being online out on the internet if people can already check out other people they come across in game? It means bots could steal your toon names if they become available for too long after you delete a toon on rare occasions to remake them. I put effort into what I should name my toons which are unique to me. If someone else takes the character name I was thinking of, I'd want it to be another player and not some bot or scripting tool that's collecting names for spamming or other nefarious purposes like gold mining.
  13. How about more bathroom furniture options than a new stronghold? I want my toon housing to look more like spaces someone would live in, if not a hotel room layout. There are plenty of bed and living room stuff for sleeping or relaxing but unfortunately- showers, sinks, floor drains, and toilets are distinctly lacking. We could also use kitchen and laundry room stuff if not that. All the rooms having a main purpose, that is what people do after moving into real estate they've bought. A brief listing of the rooms different houses have: living room, bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, office, library, gym room, game room, laundry room, parlor, conservatory, sun room, meditation room, utility room, garage. Been trying to figure out what room furnishings we have and which we don't? For a small dwelling, only a kitchen, bathroom, laundry, bedroom, and a living space is really required.
  14. One of the turrets at the Panteer refuge on Alderaan is floating in the air. Not game breaking, just a visual flaw bug, but I doubt its intended.
  15. A lot of people would be willing to pay more upfront for a game they could definitely keep, because they see more value there. I could justify spending in a big way once or on occasion, but not continually losing money on a recurring basis if my own cash flow isn't consistent or there are long periods where I need to save up some money before being in a position to want to freely spend it on something like a finite period of subscription before other expenses or things. Would it not bring in more money if the customer had more options on what to buy permanently, but there were also enough subscriber only stuff? I'm biased towards thinking that the way it works now is mostly fine, asides from the credit limits being a bit low or every little feature you want- sometimes feeling like a nickle and dime sort of monetization if you're preferred. Let some people pay big once, to not ask them to pay more on top of it so soon.
