  1. I can't even collect some of my Galactic Seasons rewards due to my Commendations being maxed out... different tracks but same level so can't claim either. Having somewhere to spend them on my level 70-something toons would be useful. I've reported it as a bug although "oversight" is a better description. Edit to add.. have been trying, no luck so far.
  2. Do you do anything here other than troll? And both of you.. smh. at least I offered up something positive along with my frustration and cynicism. Can we give the OP that much? They asked nicely.
  3. Easiest to just look at weeks.. Feb7-Feb13... 10,386 Feb14-Feb20... 19,054 Feb21-Feb27... 15,674 Feb28-March6... *10,616 Not sure how that last one changes in the next 24 hours but presumably it goes up if the total is just the sum of unique single account log-in instances of individuals within a given seven day period. So there's still a net gain of players since 7.0 release if I'm reading those numbers correctly. Looking at the chart, weekends always have a higher population and while I doubt the total hits last week's 15,674 it's already higher than the week of Feb7 total. That last number could change drastically in the next 24 hour period either due to additional log ins or if the math is somehow an estimate until the active period ends; I wouldn't read much into the last number until the next weekly period begins. From what I see, unless I'm misunderstanding the numbers somehow, the population is NOT lower than pre 7.0. when you look at it week to week where 10,386 is the established pre 7.0 floor. However... that's not a good looking trend in under a month since 7.0 release. Also, on the topic of Steam statistics.. does it just tell us the raw number of unique player logins? Does it give any weight to the amount of time someone is active in the game. I went down from 2+ hours per day to 30min every few days... curious if that's accounted for in their numbers somehow. Also curious if that's a raw number of unique players in a given seven day period or just some sort of average that's modified by other variables. Would be curious to know how their formulas work because I doubt we're looking at raw data but I could be wrong.
  4. Definitely skipped ahead.. Eternal Championship, the three Alliance alerts, and the Star Fortress missions all become available around Chapter 9 after you do the "Find a Findsman" mission for Yuun. Flashpoints are flashpoints, would have to look up a mission tree to see where they fit in the overall narrative but you can do those at any time given they are unlocked and you have the appropriate level. Ilum is a very short story following the class stories.. you can think of that as Chapter 4 of the original story, a short interlude before Shadow of Revan. Chapter Xiii Profit and Plunder is where you left off. I think that's the Spewie chapter at least! Poor Vette.
  5. If you skipped ahead to KOTFE/ET at some point, which you must have done, you would have skipped the remainder of the vanilla story without completing it (skipping ahead doesn't count as completion). If you have KOTFE/ET missions in your log, then you can't go back, you need to start a new Knight and play through again. Ilum only shows up as active once you finish the original chapter 3 or if you skip ahead (or if you activate it from the console on your ship). With KOTFE XIII as your next mission, you clearly skipped ahead at some point. Original story has three chapters. KOTFE has a bunch of chapters, including its own Ch3 which is different from vanilla. As to why you have two chapter 4 missions or whatever, a screenshot would help.. no clue. You can skip ahead to Iokath without auto completing (but don't complete it and start Fractured Alliance... not sure at what point it locks you out this way), you can do any flashpoints without auto completing.. I think you can do Makeb without autocompleting anything too. But once you start Chapter 1 of KOTFE the main story before that autocompletes.
  6. My Hatred Sin can now drop TWO Death Fields in a row, although that's not a net positive, that's just something that makes the loss of Spike hurt a little bit less. I kind of like the added ability on my Madness Sorc that lets me immediately finish DoT attacks... both add some potential to game play. That's as positive as I'm going to get though as I'm annoyed over the changes to Mara (forced choice between Mad Dash and Force Choke) and Pyrotech (Shatter Slug has such a satisfying sound and now I need to play AP to have access to it; although in fairness I haven't evaluated AP for 7.0 yet but I didn't like it that much in 6.0). Anyway, I appreciate your intent... I haven't played around with any of my Juggs yet.
  7. So, basically admitting that you're just a troll? I don't see this game doing very well if all the casuals lose interest in it, but as long as you're having a blast that's what matters! The thing with being "casual" is it's a misleading term.. my playing 2+ hours each day on average for 3 years is only casual in the sense that I don't drool over the game being made more difficult for most players. Content is a slog, gear and conquest is a grind, companions are nerfed, and rewards aren't worth the effort now. I'm hardly a casual player but I'm exactly the player you are trying to provoke.
  8. Check your pants, you may have soiled them.
  9. [citation needed] Has anything contradicting the following every been stated or are you just making **** up? It would be lovely to have two heroics instances, one tuned for solo and another tuned for a group, but when you tune them specifically for groups, rather than finding incentive to group up, most players just don't bother. With the current build of the game, they aren't fun at all solo, not in the slightest and on top of that they don't even give decent conquest rewards now.
  10. One thing worth keeping in mind is that you can change ships during a match.. all four types if you really wanted. So I could start with my weak bomber if I wanted those 36k points for five matches but then use a striker or whatever for the rest of the match... you do not need to play a bomber the entire match to get credit for the weekly conquest objective. If I tried using a gunship my entire match my numbers would be terrible but still better than the examples op points to. And with a striker where I'm comfortable, even with a totally bare bones model I'm capable of putting up 30k+ damage on a good day unless my team is just straight trash. Which isn't an attempt to brag or anything, I'm just saying that a good pilot can still be a major contributor with a stock ship in a best case scenario... it really depends on the quality of the other team. It doesn't balance out though, because it's not 100% random. Premade group/teams is one additional variable as is a general preference for pub vis imp side representation (although teams are mixed). It's unfortunate that groupfinder isn't better at balancing teams and recognizing which players will be non contributors and not placing them all on the same team. Also, your argument presumes that being on the winning team is the underlying concern but those blowout matches are not fun if you are on the losing team and they are not fun if you are on the winning team. So, the afk players are still a concern even if you are on the winning team. Although I wouldn't care if groupfinder better balance it out but instead you get players who are dualboxing and both do-nothing player-characters end up on the same team. Good point.. when I first started I'd aim for the ship not the marker in front of the ship... this would hurt your numbers significantly and is a common noob mistake.
  11. No, the 24 hour day and 7 day week do that. 7.0 just ensures that it will take at least 4x as many minutes to get 24 characters done, and even that's being generous. Comments like that just tell me that someone hasn't tried getting 24 toons through conquest in 7.0 on a single server or is intentionally being disingenuous. Or that you're completing the GSF weekly every single day on multiple servers, which isn't all that realistic for the average player active on a single server.
  12. "I'm not a narcissist, YOU're a narcissist." Classic gaslighting nonsense. Also a reminder that the garbage talking points from "Gamergate" are still alive and well on the internet.
  13. Strawman. As one of the "whiners" I can say that I don't like the new system and yet I never farmed Spammer Station or TC. The 6.0 gearing system was convenient and gave me an incentive to do other things as I already had the gear (eventually... I was in no rush to acquire it). Also, I'm far from playing "as little of this game as possible" and put in an hour or two minimum on most days. The same people farming HS and TC are the same players farming WB now... those who want max level BiS as quickly as possible. They aren't the ones complaining, they are doing what they've always done, getting gear the fastest way possible. You're conflating two different groups of players to make a convenient but false argument.
  14. Nope. Went from an every day player who spent a couple hours logged in to spending more time reading forums and lamenting my loss. Not enjoying the game anymore as of two weeks ago... I wish I could say it was burnout but it's all 7.0. Yet to be seen if what little time I spend in the game going forward will be enough to hold my interest at all. I was having a moderate amount of fun with GS objectives because I still find those rewarding but probably not going to bother with those once my sub is up... which is literally any minute now (not even sure this post will go through until it does). Everything else feels like work, not fun. My toons aren't as fun... I can Mad Dash but I can't Force Choke. I lost my Spike opener on Sin. I no longer have a smile on my face every time I activate Shatter Slug on my Pyrotech because it's gone. Every time I log into an alt I have to rearrange my bars and sort out my ability tree while looking at an awful eyesore of an interface (and still literally getting headaches from inventory but at least a fix for that is in the works, although it should have never made it live). I enjoyed heroics but now many of them are too much of a hassle and with the conquest changes there's no incentive to bother anyway. Heroics were the primary activity for me daily so that's the game right there, for me. The changes to Conquest (and I put Renown removal under that umbrella), the various nerfs, the ability reduction... it all just saps my reason to play away overnight. Perfect storm of changes which were undesirable to me, killing incentive on multiple fronts. I can't be bothered to level or gear up as it seems like a waste of time and effort... that aspect is burnout to a point, I've never been a fan of the "expansion" grind and always get there slowly, but that means I'm not participating in group activity as much until I do get there so another lost incentive to play. To each their own, some love farming to get max levels asap but it's not for me. Now with the more complex system and multiple currencies, I'm even less interested in trying to sort it all out again. Too much change at once is a thing. I still enjoy GSF but it seems odd to log into a game just to play what amounts to a side game.. I should probably give Squadrons a shake.
  15. I find it entirely conceivable that some new players in a deathmatch who have their mouse set way too high might actually be trying and still have under 5% accuracy. In a fairly balanced death match I agree with you that those numbers are suspicious but in a 50-10 blowout sort of match I can honestly believe some players never have much of a chance to do anything, they won't even see the worst players on the other team and they're unlikely to hit an ace or a well placed gunship. So personally, I'd give a lot of the players more of a benefit of doubt than you do. But the AFK, no question. If they are going to promote GSF for the sake of tech frags, medals should be tied to that rather than repeatable weeklies. Although I'd argue the opposite for galactic seasons, I think last week's medal required objectives were unreasonable for new players (at least in the current bugged state).
  16. Bingo. Either lacking empathy or just unable to stop and listen to what other players are saying. Was Renown perfect? No, I think Command was was better and that had its critics too. But unlike some players who enjoyed farming Spammerstation for hours on end for gear, I got to 306 the long and slow way because I didn't need to be the first kid on my block to 306. I used a combination of conquest crates and renown crates to get there. Not everyone wants to play the game the same way as some other person deems is the proper way. Once I was geared up, Renown was no longer useful for gearing up... but neither was farming Spammerstation. Renown was still nice for having some sense of a level gain, at least until I got every class to 100 which is where I think Command was better, having four tiers made it a little more interesting up to 300 and the gear options were more interesting as well as it was more superficial outward appearance than for the sake of gearing up. Not everything is about gearing up as quickly as possible and then waiting impatient for another expansion just to do it again, some of us actually find joy in the in-between things. Renown was nice for conquest bonuses, I often got the last 6k points I needed to get the next alt to 50k. It was a nice little reward that actually encouraged me to maintain an active sub because you got renown points so much faster as a subscriber that it was super helpful pushing a lot of alts through conquest each week. By removing Renown they actually removed one of my primary reasons to subscribe at all... just because some players are blind to it doesn't mean there weren't incentives for many of us.
  17. For you. I was having fun three weeks ago and now (some) heroics are a painful slog on top of being unrewarding. It really depends on the planet though, I've only had a particularly painful time on Balmorra (at least on my legacies which are completely flushed out; playing on Tulak Hord and Leviathan where all my base numbers are lower as well as my character levels Taris was a nightmare too). Not that I've tried heroics on every single planet because with the 7.0 conquest changes there's no longer any incentive to bother with them unless it's a Galactic Seasons objective for the week. There's absolutely no reason I should be dying running Balmorra heroics with a 306-75 character and an influence 50 companion set to heal but it's happened several times now... one mob, not multiple... making use of all available abilities where useful (defense, interrupts, self heals, etc.). If you don't see the problem, you either haven't played the right content solo yet or you're superman and/or masochistic and enjoy long drawn out heroic fights against average heroic mobs that kill you if you don't approach every fight with a medpack handy and a precombat stun. Pre 7.0 I ran heroics with my comp on dps.. often I ran many of them without a comp. I had a challenge if I wanted a challenge on most planets. I enjoyed breaking down mobs quickly and moving forward to my objective... and by quickly, many fights took a reasonable amount of time, certainly not 1, 2, or even 3 hit kills unless it was a particularly weak enemy randomly thrown into the heroic and I happened to get crit hit. Now with a planet level +10 character and influence 40-50 comp there are legit heroics that can take 20-30minutes to push through solo which is a lot of effort for fights that amount to hitting each other over the head with sticks until the mob dies without any interesting mechanics or required combination of moves. I'm not exaggerating when I say some are a slog now.. and in some of them my companion has no problem keeping me alive so long as I have them set to heal but the fights are long and mindless to the point that I can be working on my taxes while blindly clicking buttons... that's not fun or rewarding to me. The problem is that some heroics and/or other content may in fact be more fun in 7.0 but it's not universal... they need to tune the hard heroics to be easier or tune the easier heroics to be harder, not just nerf the crap out of companions and our own stats and just let the dust fall wherever which is the current approach.
  18. $15 vs $30... both are just arbitrary numbers. $180 per year for anyone who maintains a sub every month seems more than reasonable an investment to expect more content than we've been getting. It's not like they need to spend more to develop a game for two players than they do a game for four players... the fixed costs are the same, so an arbitrary monthly amount without adding in the second variable i.e. the number of subscribers, is meaningless. There's no guarantee that if we paid more individually we'd get more. There was definitely an uptick in game population and subs following the game becoming available on Steam but I guess all that profit went to Steam and none of it went back into the game? No reason to think if we paid less or had fewer players that we'd get any less content than we currently do either. Unless you have some sort of insider knowledge? It has nothing to do with what we pay or how many players are here. It's a simple matter of how they choose to prioritize their resources.
  19. Why not both? They have people whose literal job is to fix the bugs and they have people whose literal job is to communicate with the players. Don't create false dichotomy. You sarcasm doesn't help. If anything it just lets management and public relations off the hook for this cluster fudge. By all means play devil's advocate if you can do so objectively... but the number of posts here isn't stopping them from making more statements nor is the number of bugs that need dealt with. Unless there's only one person working on the game? Which wouldn't surprise me at this point... poor Jackie has to answer our in-game tickets, mod the forum, meet with the board, debug the game, and design the next CM outfit! Where does she find the time???
  20. Best to just ignore him, he chimes in on every thread where anyone complains about content being awful now and he says the same exact crap. He's not here for genuine discussion. *edit* to add, as proven in his above response. Some content doesn't feel much different, other content is terribly unbalanced and some trolls just stick their fingers in their ears and pretend your experience doesn't matter (and actively troll every thread just to remind us of this over and over again). The worst I've found so far is Balmorra heroics, pub or imp side.. dying multiple times in several different heroics with level 75 characters, 306 gear, influence 50 comps... even with a ranged comp set to heal (I used to keep mine set to DPS). I've already told this troll the same but he continues to act surprised anytime anyone states the same. Heroics on other planets, sometimes feel even easier than pre 7.0.. it's really hit and miss. Ran some Taris heroics yesterday for GS objectives before my sub expires today (not bothering with GS objectives once that happens).. mostly not an issue, but my lower level characters (30s) have no choice but to place comps on heal and then the fights drag out forever. What should be a one minute fight takes 3-4 minutes and I just end up reading news articles while blindly clicking because it's just a slog with a limited number of abilities anyway. On the upside, I'm not dying on Taris heroics but on the downside they stronger NPCs are long boring fights that just slow down the game dramatically; outside of the GS incentive, there's no reason to even be bothered with them anymore. Troll will respond that we need to just group up because that's what you are "supposed to do in MMOs" but troll also likes to run Hammerstation over and over again and ***** on players who actually liked Renown too, so yeah. I'll still address that though, even if I wanted to group up that doesn't mean there's always someone else willing to group up at the same time as I'm playing through a specific heroic... I guess I should just wait until someone else is ready. Whatever. Go play your game and don't tell me how to play mine.
  21. If you are not subbed, and someone else is subbed (and active) in your guild... and you log into the toon that is GM while not subbed, it will auto jump to the subbed guild member (regardless of whether you've taken a 28 day break). So at best, you would have to log into the GM toon the last day of your sub and then not log into that toon again until you resub and without exceeding that 28 day limit before leadership would auto jump based on the away-from-game rule they've put in place. The only way around this is to ensure no subbed members log in for 28 days, yourself included (i.e. you need to be preferred).. at which point it would become a F2P guild. Then never sub again... or pass GM to an alt account that will never sub and be sure to log in on the alt account every 28 days minimum. It's a really bad system. You're best off just kicking any players you don't trust to give the guild back.
  22. I haven't been killing anything with one shot unless I got a lucky crit with the right ability, we aren't all player-gods like you. I do the reasonable amount of prep, don't stand in stupid, use defense c/d's, know my ability priorities, make use of the tools available to me... and I get completely wrecked by certain mobs on Balmorra now... that's not "slightly more difficult" it's a joyless grind to finish a heroic. It's obvious you have an opinion based on the content you play, but don't bother to verify what anyone else is saying. It's easy to preach from a podium but there's so many different mobs, heroics, levels in this game and the scaling effects them all differently. You probably already ran out and got to level 80 as fast as possible and started your end game gear grind, so your experience would be completely unrelated to half the **** people complain about and you opine on. Like I said, I'm glad someone enjoys it. I think it blows. Best hope I'm the minority or population is going to suffer. Cheers, this is my last post on this forum.
  23. Glad someone does, clearly I would have quit much sooner if I started with 1.0. Boring, not fun, waste of time now. Enjoy your game, I'll find one that's actually fun since they killed SWTOR.
  24. There's nothing in that statement remotely discussing transgendered players so I'm really not sure what you're on about, nor do I want to know as I'm sure it's not coming from a good place anyway. Go find a good law book written for a lay person that discusses censorship and constitutional protections because you have zero idea what you're talking about. "Free Speech" doesn't apply to private companies unless they are affiliated with the government, you agree to a Terms of Service when you decide to play which limits your speech and you give up your "freedom" when you decide to use a private company's platform. TOS is essentially a contract that you sign, whether you read it or not, when you click "I accept."
  25. Personally, I have no objection to anyone sitting on sats and trying to get their GS points. That just means the noobs will be the ones guarding the sat and it's more likely to be taken. They have an incentive to protect it if they want their points. I'll help them if I see they are in trouble but otherwise I just focus on trying to steal another sat from the opposing team and testing their noobs. lol There's more turnover on both sides if the match is anywhere near balanced but that can be fun too. Just need to adapt to the situation we find ourselves in. Death match would be tricky, best advice is to just stick with the group and stay out of site of gunships. Attack those chasing your teammates. As mentioned in a previous post, grab the into to GSF mission and at least you can build up one ship if you don't want to buy a fleet with all the points you get for completing that. My personal strategy in most of those matches is to play more of an assist role where I use ion cannons and wreak havoc on as many ship's shields as I can and leave it to my team mates to finish them off. It works for me because I like flying around dogfighting and being a general nuisance with multiple ships chasing me at once... any time I get an engine overload I harass the other team's gunships. Many just want the Galactic Season reward, they don't care about learning the game in a game which is fine by me as long as they are doing anything other than intentionally throwing matches by crashing, changing ships, crashing again, etc. Or crashing ten times just to get a match over with, which is even worse. You weren't paying attention if you didn't notice until you saw complaining.. I noticed and submitted a bug report right away. It was never a personal concern for me as I average 10 medals in a match but it was easy to notice the medal count and the progress for the Seasons objective were out of sync. I also knew this was going to be a major obstacle for a lot of players and I sympathize with that. I hope they do learn the game and stick with it, as I enjoy it and I enjoy faster queue during GS but they are going to need to get their feet wet and want to seek out guidance on their own... at which point, solid advice to watch the youtube videos. Swtorista has a great basic intro video and GSF school covers the basics beyond that. Last Galactic Season is actually what brought me into the fold.
