  1. I didn't know that El Paso was on Mountain time...fascinating! I'm sure the late Mrs. Cynic was equally so.
  2. I know what you're saying about companions...I just have to believe the devs are well aware that cutting our beloved companions out of future content would result in a firestorm of Biblical proportions. It really would push too many people out the door. Devs simply need to avoid making the same mistakes and all will be well (at least until we all find something else to complain about, ha ha).
  3. I think that's fair enough. It is my sincere hope that the Alliance remains at least for those of us who want it, and that the devs put a stop to kill options for LIs, no matter how loudly some players bay for blood. It was a great storytelling device to place Theron in the role of faux traitor, but his kill option after Nathema opened the worst kind of Pandora's box; it put Lana, the only surviving members of the original triumvirate (if we include Koth), right in the crosshairs of those furious over Theron's fate. No one's calmed down since. The lesson devs must learn from this is that LI's are incredibly important to a lot of players and must be treated accordingly, or all hell will break loose. To me that means not killing Lana off, and in future making sure the other LIs receive their due. As for the Alliance, I have to believe that a clever writer can find a compromise that won't totally alienate the pro- or anti-Alliance factions. They made a good start of it with JUS. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that six months or a year from now the forums won't be a howling tsunami of rage, at least not over these issues.
  4. Yes, exactly. You lose so much with the character otherwise. This is just the fate of an altoholic.
  5. Look at the developer's notes--this is a known problem. Bioware intends to fix it in the next patch, which is coming any day now.
  6. I know exactly what you mean. That little droid can really get to me. If T7 goes, I'm rioting!
  7. Ditto. I don't PvP or do Ops, and I love the story content & my companions. That's the beauty of SWTOR--it caters to all of us. Maybe we don't all get as much of what we like as we'd want, but that's no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water. (I just realized now, but that is a horrible expression, isn't it??)
  8. Agreed. The halcyon days of the vanilla story are gone, so when it comes to companions it's about finding a way to make the most players happy with the least amount of money spent. That probably means LIs have to come first. (But I too looooove T7--he's my top companion for my main JK. I was so pleased to get him back early on in KOTFE.)
  9. In my admittedly biased opinion LIs should definitely take priority. There are some non-LI companions I adore, too (I'm talking about you, Bowdaar), but if I had to choose who got attention from the devs, it would be the LIs. I never played a game with romantic interests and I've sadly enjoyed it too much. Once again, though, IoN's earlier low-budget suggestions for getting more companions involved are great ones. Bioware should take heed.
  10. I totally agree that the email was a bluff, and I'm calling it. Theron's still alive! I didn't leave Theron but my husband did, and after watching the scene I also agree that Lana was NOT happy about it. Not at all. Those two are buddies, whether they bicker or not.
  11. You'd be surprised at how many people care about this, obviously. And not everyone cares about the issues you identified above. (For instance, I've got zero interest in Ops, as is the case with most solo players.) But even if you are as right as right can be about their potential importance, people are allowed to talk about ALL issues in the game, whether or not some of those issues rank as the most important thing in the whole world ever. Most people also care about more than one aspect of the game. Hence someone can worry deeply about gearing, but also want to talk about what's on this thread. Nothing wrong with that. It's a conversation. Be a part of it or don't, but there's nothing wrong with us having it. Do you restrict all of your conversations in life to the Big Issues (climate change, poverty, famine, etc.) and never, ever talk about the more minor ones (i.e., your favourite movie)? You're on the boards for a video game so obviously not. Beware of claiming to speak for the majority. So few who think they are actually do.
  12. Long live open discussion! P.S. I think my earlier post was unintentionally misleading. I'm actually 48. But I'm okay with 50, particularly since my husband is turning it first.
  13. Absolutely. Which is why I don't want you lovely Millenials blamed for the sins of Gen X, etc., or written off by anyone. God knows we're all deeply annoying on some level, lol. And this is a good thread.
  14. Okay, I'll play, because like you I don't mind how old I am. I was almost 7 years old when I saw A New Hope in the theatres, during its original theatrical run. I still remember how the line ran around the block, and how excited we were to see this movie-making miracle. That answer your question?
  15. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree about what's the lesser of two evils. But I do love my Theron, Torian, and other lost companions, so I'm all for the campaign to see more of them. Whatever Bioware can do to bring companions back into the fold, I support it.
  16. Thirties are a great time. And I completely agree that older = more attractive. But I would given my age, wouldn't I?
  17. Okaaaaay...I guess it takes more to convince me to kill someone or send them out to pasture than you. But I still think you're mostly motivated by the argument that "My LI got killed, so yours should too." And that ain't a great look.
  18. Embrace it. Youth is marvelous! So is middle age, but still...
  19. Well, we all have our own ideas about what constitutes a "real" problem. And a lot of the people on this forum are older than the millenial crowd by a good couple of decades, so let's not blame the kiddies too much.
  20. That sounds really...spiteful. If my LI got killed, yours should be, too. Not a great argument. And that aside, the kill option has to make sense from a story standpoint. I'm sorry, but that just doesn't exist in the case of Lana, no matter how much some people dislike her. Maybe she'll betray the commander in the future, but until now she hasn't done anything other than mildly creep out a handful of people for dubious reasons, allegedly hang around too much, and give advice considered questionable. Those aren't killable offenses unless you're the darkest, wackiest Sith ever. Reasons to not want to be best friends with someone, sure, but not to pull the trigger. Anyway, can we please punt the "Let's Kill Lana!" fury back over to its own thread? This thread is about giving ALL companions more screen time--a worthy goal that I'm sure you can agree with.
  21. I agree with all of the above; I think the best we can hope for is some of the ideas that IoN suggested earlier in the thread. Taking out our frustrations about our favourite LI's unavailability on someone else's favourite LI isn't the answer. Let's work together, people!
  22. It's a bug that I think the devs are planning on fixing in the next patch, possibly coming tomorrow--check the developer's notes to be sure. Stick with LS Jaesa and you should be fine.
  23. This. All of the above would make a huge difference, and cost very little, allowing most of the production budget to go to content. A little can go a long way.
  24. It does feel like a massive decision, lol. I've had two Imps become saboteurs for the Pubs and I have to admit to having a wobble about it. Now I'm okay, but you do want to be sure.
