  1. I logged in just to say this is patently the most ignorant thing said on the forums so far, and exactly why countries are going bankrupt and America is sliding into a depression. Ignorance is astounding. To take your scenario, you are rich. You buy 5 pairs of thousand dollar shoes. The crafter who made them pays his employees, and the suppliers of his leather. You are now poor. You buy 100 20 dollar shoes. The crafter still pays his employees, and his supplier, but only made half of the dollar amount. You can change the prices as you see fit, but bottom line is someone who makes a million will ALWAYS inject more money into the economy than someone who makes 20k. And that 20k comes from the guy who has a million and spent it. Lesson for you...you always want a small lower class, and a much larger middle class that trends to upper class. You NEVER want a large lower class and a middle class that trends to lower class. And your analogy sucks anyway. I could get slicing, you could get slicing. I can't go out and just TAKE a job making millions IRL. Suddenly this BW nerf makes so much more sense though. They listened to you, instead of thought cognitively.
  2. You do realize that we've NEVER recovered from that pop? That housing has slid into a 10 year depression, jobs are down because no one can afford goods, and we are generally worse off than before? Oversimplifying is an understatement. This is bad for any economy, in game or in real life.
  3. I...I'm not even sure where to start on this one...are you saying we should outsource our companions to mos eisley? I honestly don't even know what side your arguing for. None of us feel entitled, we still had to grind up slicing, all we are saying is that us doing that enabled you as a nonslicer (assuming you are a nonslicer) to craft and get a value for your craft. Where as now your craft has no value. If you rather no one have money, I guess you are very happy.
  4. I can only speak for myself. I used slicing for credits while leveling, since leveling itself didn't keep me going. So while I leveled my cybertech, I had to buy my UT mats from the GTN. Which, gasp, made people who leveled UT money! And when I eventually switched out of it, to craft items which end game ALWAYS make more, everyone would have won! Now no one wins. Yay! Being rich isn't evil. Being rich is what makes those that don't take slicing able to make money. Just like in America today, people punish the rich and then wonder why we are in an 8 year recession.
  5. Too bad no one whined about that. Only about slicing being too good. I hate that everyone has this socialist mentality. Bring everyone down to the lowest denominator instead of buffing everyone up to that level.
  6. I guess this is where we differ. I play TOR to not grind all day long. I could play WoW or any Korean MMO for that. I got my speeder and was starting to buy things off of the GTN. I won't now. Every level I'd lost 30% of my credits, and only with slicing was I making that back. So I guess leveling skills is also a grind reward. Honestly, if you guys cannot see that having money flowing into an economy is better than not having money flowing into an economy, I cannot help you. Capitalism works, and the markets adjust themselves. The rich spend money on the working class (crafters) which enables them to buy those things they need. No rich, crafters fall from middle class to lower class, which stifles crafting, which slows the economy more.
  7. Also, no one has mentioned this yet, but an easy way to farm money in game, while not only helping to stimulate the ingame economy, it also makes credit farmers useless. Why shell out real money when in a few days I can afford everything I need to? Oh, that switches to a few weeks/months? Well, suddenly those credits for dollars seems a lot more viable. Bioware overreacted, the economy wasn't spiraling out of control, it was flourishing and people were spending. a much better fix to this would have been to limit it to 1 toon per server just to stop those that made 8 toons all slicing which is what supposedly caused this massive and complete nerf. I was using my slicing credits to help my friends start their toons on my server. Here is a link bioware probably hadn't made, but soon will. My personal wealth enables me to help my noob friends which encourages them to play more than their free month which makes bioware more of the money that actually matters. Now I can't afford to do that. Anyone guess what happens next?
  8. Just to update, I respec''d back into healing, got into a different group, and it went a lot better. I still OOF sometimes, but took 2 back to back elites and we all survived. Just goes to show you, CC, get decent tanks, and healing is much better. Get a retarded team, and my god, the horror.

  10. I typically build my specs the way I expect them to end. I'll give it a go, but with almost 10% reduced costs, and 100 more force, I wouldn't expect I'd be running out of force at all, and I do, all the time. those two skills are essential imho. I do agree that the 6% isn't the best use at this level. I also may have just had a really bad group. I literally had to heal 4 people the entire time, and I just couldn't keep up. In the first FP, I had zero issues. Who knows. I'll try again at some point.
  11. Level 20 healer spec'd as follows: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201oMZf00MZ0M.1 It's awful. 600 force sounds like a lot, but at 46 force a cast, that's 13 casts til oof. Each cast heals between .75 and 1 attack against a tank, less against a squishy. Aggro is wonky, so unless your group is perfect, you have to heal everyone. I ran a heroic 4+, and it was awful. wiped 2 times, and only didn't wipe 2 other times because we had an assassin who could instastealth and run away. This wasn't a CC issue either, it was a straight 1v1, and I couldn't even heal anyone due to never having force. Consumption is one of the most poorly implemented skills I've ever seen. 15% of your life for less than 1 cast is beyond useless. you can eat up half your life to only get 24% of your force back, which is gone again in 3 casts. Maybe it gets better later, but I don't recommend anyone heal at lower levels. PVP is also a different story, your heals are MUCH stronger there. I respec'd to lightning. I'd rather be good at dps than mediocre at healing, due to flawed design.
  12. Been leveling spec'd healing. It's awful. Slow as anything leveling, and I still can't heal well on anything other than trash. Aggro is wonky in this game. So I end up having to heal the entire party. with casts of healing spells being the MOST expensive spells I have, I go OOF before the elite or whatever is even halfway dead. And then I just sit there and watch my party die. Awesome feeling as a healer. Consumption might as well be removed. 15% for 8% is awful. 8% is less than 1 cast. 15% of my life means that I now have to waste that cast healing me. It's poorly implemented. It worked on Warlocks in wow because they could heal themselves with damage dealing spells. It fails here. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I've run healers in every major MMO to date, and in a metric ton of F2P ones. It's frustrating here. I just respec'd out of healing. Not worth the investment.
