SWTOR 7.0 is the worst expansion to date ?
Kendaric replied to DavidAtkinson's topic in General Discussion
Exactly... sure, I'll enjoy the second combat style on a couple of characters, but effectively there's very little of interest for me in 7.0. The story part, which is the most important thing for me, will be short (according to the devs), the FP I'll run a few times in story/solo mode like I always do. But grinding for gear? No. I never cared about gear grind in any MMORPG I played and I sure as hell won't care now. -
SWTOR 7.0 is the worst expansion to date ?
Kendaric replied to DavidAtkinson's topic in General Discussion
In the end the question is: Will those few good things outweigh the negative aspects of 7.0 for current players and will they be enough to attract new ones? -
That would have been an update I'd love to see. Story is SWTOR's strength and that should be wha's focused on, especially for a 10th anniversary update.

SWTOR 7.0 is the worst expansion to date ?

Well... that would actually make combat more interesting than the skill spam we have I mean ESO does pretty well with light/heavy attack, dodge roll, block and 6 active skills... -

That's actually what I mean with "full defection" No gameplay changes are necessary or even expected, besides how future stoylines play out. -
SWTOR 7.0 is the worst expansion to date ?
Kendaric replied to DavidAtkinson's topic in General Discussion
I hope they let us fully defect eventually in 7.x if we chose the saboteur route ... there's absolutely no reason for them not to allow it. I don't expect it in 7.0 but some time afterwards would be nice. -
SWTOR 7.0 is the worst expansion to date ?
Kendaric replied to DavidAtkinson's topic in General Discussion
Elom is just the flashpoint, the actual planet we'll get is imperial controlled Manaan. Apparently there's no daily area at the time of release, which is supposed some time later. So, yeah... in regards to playable content it doesn't really look big. -
SWTOR 7.0 is the worst expansion to date ?
Kendaric replied to DavidAtkinson's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, it's the same for me. There's absolutely no way I'll ever do an uprising. I play SWTOR for the story and nothing else. Once 7.0 hits I'll probably play through the story on multiple alts (depending on how good it actually is), but beyond that I see very little reason for me to log on regularly. I most definitely won't waste time with content I don't enjoy. -
Or they could implement a way for us to toggle that ugly snowflake VFX (and other VFX as well) permanently off...

Can I skip some recruitment missions in KofTFE
Kendaric replied to SirBriggs's topic in General Discussion
Ah, great to know. Since those are characters that don't interest me I never bothered to do the alerts for them, so that information is new to me. Thanks -
Can I skip some recruitment missions in KofTFE
Kendaric replied to SirBriggs's topic in General Discussion
The alliance alerts can be skipped without any issues as far as I know. I only do the alerts to recruit companions I like and never encountered any issues. -
As much as I want a new origin story, it is unlikely to happen due to the work required. It would require dozens of new cutscenes, most likely a new starting planet and an overhaul of virtually every planet available in the base game and new voice overs. It's far more likely we'll eventually get new combat styles, since they're less work.

I hope that's true, as I really hate having to play through Eternal Throne on every character just to keep Torian alive and get rid of the annoying Twi'lek (Vette). Though I strongly doubt it's true and I still can't skip Eternal Throne while keeping Torian (though I could bring him back via terminal of course. But it's not the same).

An idea for the future of weapons in outfitter
Kendaric replied to uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu's topic in General Discussion
It doesn't work that way unfortunately... the weapons displayed in a cutscene are defined by your combat style. Since vanguard doesn't have the blaster pistol proficiency, they get shown with a default pistol like before. Sadly they didn't change that. This makes both the second combat style and the weapons in outfitter somewhat limited in usefulness for many players. -
An idea for the future of weapons in outfitter
Kendaric replied to uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu's topic in General Discussion
Ok, let me try to explain it better... as it currently stands on PTS, a weapon is considered part of your outfit. This means whenever you select any given outfit slot, the weapon is considered part of that outfit (or defaults to your currently equipped weapon under "Gear"). What SteveTheCynic proposes is to make weapons and outfits separate. So you could, for example, activate outfit 1 but instead of having the weapons defined per outfit, you'd get to choose which weapons are displayed (or the default weapon you have equipped as usual). -

What he means is basically a separate tab for weapon overrides. That way we'd have a lot more flexibility in how we want to look. -
Codex > Game Rules > Conversations - Explains Social Points
Kendaric replied to SnEaKyMan's topic in Public Test Server
This is true for many of codex entries under the Game Rules category, they should definitely be updated to reflect the changed rules. -
I could never kill Theron or leave him to die. Lana on the other hand....
-
This basically. The iRating doesn't concern me at all, not being able to mod m gear to suit my tastes and playstyle is what I hate most about 7.0. Mods should definitely be available to all players, regardless of the content they prefer to play.

Yeah, allowing us to disable those horrible snowflakes would be great. That goes for a lot of VFX from buffs in the game in general... I'd love to disable most or all of them.
-
I hope we'll get to defect eventually. Since classes effectively become "origin stories" and "combat styles" in 7.0, there's no reason for BioWare not to allow us to defect if we want to. It would be the most logical end for the saboteur storyline and players have wanted a faction change option basically since release.

I know the feeling... I have my right arm paralyzed after a stroke and those raid-style mechanics make it imposible for me to complete the mission. I simply can't react fast enough. Vaylin needs to be toned down for story mode, keep her as tough fight for veteran mode.
