  1. Because I'm not going to log my characters in and risk losing a bunch of my Rank 50 companions, I can't do anything in terms of guild administration. Any ETA when the devs will undo the mess they caused with 5.10.1 in terms of companions vanishing or being reset to Rank 1?
  2. I didn't realize I made one. Which series / episode?
  3. Your argument boils down to "shut up, casual player." That's it. It's just an elitist insult to anyone that doesn't play like you. Who the hell are you to decide what anyone else in the game needs or doesn't need? The "need" argument itself falls apart on its face because you have to DO the most challenging content to get the reward that you claim is only NEEDED for the most challenging content. Well, if you did the content without it in order to get it, then you clearly don't need it, either. Frankly, none of us NEED anything in the game. It's a video game. It's a product that provides us entertainment in exchange for money. Every single player has every right and good reason to tell the devs what they expect for their money. The entire problem could be solved with using a single currency for everything. Casual players might have to grind the content they like a lot longer to earn the creds for stuff they want, but it would still be obtainable simply by playing the game. That's what the devs' goal should be: paying players. It's absolutely irrelevant from a business perspective what kind of content those paying players choose to enjoy, so it's absolutely pointless to keep herding people toward content they don't enjoy. The "you don't need that" crowd are simply people who measure parts of their anatomy based on their gear rating, and it would hurt their fragile egos immensely if others could get that gear for playing differently, for whatever reason they may want it. If some casual wants perfect gear to shave another 10 seconds off grinding heroics every day, who am I to argue with that? Their money is as good as mine, and the devs need to recognize that.
  4. When I got my story comps back, they had the same rank as when they left. This information would seem to imply that when they gave them back, their rank was set by copying the original lost comps' ranks, but now that those originals are gone, there's no foundation for the copies that are left, so it just resets to 0 influence. I get the impression that the devs go tugging at threads in the database without looking to see how they're connected to the whole tapestry.
  5. Actually, the demands of paying customers are the best possible feedback. By telling the devs what we expect for our money, they can decide whether it's worth retaining our money or not. If we just take whatever they give us and unsub without providing such feedback, they will continue to aimlessly fumble around in the dark, which seems to be the strategy lately. Of course, you didn't put much thought into your comments because you merely wanted to be an insulting ******* rather than make a cogent point.
  6. Team ranked is dead because ranked PvPers are the most toxic people in the game. You can't treat people like garbage and expect them to keep coming back for more.
  7. The game really needs a unified currency instead of needing to keep track of so many different ones. Credits shuold be the universal currency. Everyone can get credits for doing any content they actually enjoy. Would some things be outrageously expensive? Yes. Would everything be in reach for all players regardless of how they enjoy playing? Yes.
  8. Adding new content that's only in reach for hardcore gamers in guilds full of other hardcore gamers is quite the slap in the face to the vast majority of paying customers who don't fit that profile.
  9. Some folks are saying that this issue only affects characters that skipped content. There's no definitive answer on this yet. I've spent countless hours and credits getting companions to Rank 50. I'm not comfortable logging in until I'm absolutely certain that none of my companions will be affected. We all suffered through the game taking away ALL our original class companions and having to start over again with the garbage characters from KotFE / KotET. I'm not doing this grind again. Give us some information about who is affected and who can safely log in without worry. If I can't play, I see no reason to continue paying for a subscription.
  10. To get HK-55 after you've done the quest on one character, you just need to go into your character perks and buy him for other toons.
  11. I'm disappointed that this issue hasn't received even the slightest acknowledgement from the devs. Companion influence ranks affect every single player in the game. Of course, there was immediate response to the gear issue, which affects only those players who have engaged in the Ossus grind relentlessly for weeks on end.
  12. I'm sort of surprised this list doesn't include the missing companions issue and companions being reset to influence rank 1.
  13. Dear Eric Musco, Can you please share with us the quality control procedures used by the developers prior to releasing patches? It seems like some of the reported issues for 5.10.1 indicate that the patch has done precisely the opposite of what was intended, specifically regarding companions and set bonuses, and I'm genuinely curious if anyone actually plays the game in controlled settings prior to releasing patches. How is it done? How many different scenarios are tested? Are characters in different states (skipped content vs. played through) tested? I think that problems like these are really undermining consumer confidence, and it might help to know what actually goes on and how these things get missed.
  14. I haven't applied the patch or logged in yet. This is a game-breaker for me.
  15. It's probably better that you crash to desktop than suffer the new "features" (bugs) introduced with the patch.
  16. It's very easy with 2 players and 2 high-ranked comps, provided that you know the mechanics. You should switch comps between ranged and melee and change their roles based on what's coming in the next round. I struggle to do it solo, and I've found that the best toon was my gunnery trooper. When I struggled with Breaktown Brawler, I just ran around kiting the whole trio and healing myself after they killed my comp. Then I could duck in and attack one at a time.
  17. Play a smuggler and enjoy some of the funniest lines in the game.
  18. I generally only use refined isotope stabilizers for crafting dark projects. Many moons ago, you could craft dark projects with refined OR exotic isotope stabilizers, and the Jawa scrap peddler on the Fleet sells the exotic isotope stabilizers. Therefore, I'd just play as normal to earn command crates and get scrap drops. Now, you MUST use refined isotope stabilizers for dark projects, and the only ways to get them are things I don't much enjoy. You can PvP or you can do group content and pray that you win the rolls (EVERYONE rolls "Need" for them). Because I can't play the content that I enjoy and still get materials for dark projects, I haven't crafted one in a couple months. The devs need to put refined isotope stabilizers on the Jawa scrap vendor.
  19. The Conquest Leaders section is also broken. It frequently just shows people with 0 points in some cases.
  20. We were told it would be addressed in a later pattch, not the next patch. I'm sure the fix is coming Soon™.
  21. PvPers have always been cancerous, no matter where they originate. I have noticed a steady decline in the health of general chat across the board, though. It seems that you may be right. The cancer has metastasized.
  22. My point is simply that people do what they find rewarding. The first time through, perhaps the actual content of some activities is rewarding, but after that it's simply mindless, repetitive grind to get achievements, decos, gear, et cetera. If you want to make playing the game for its own sake the reward, then you need to make all activities equally rewarding in terms of Stuff™ (or just give the Stuff™ away for logging in), and then people will play what they like solely on the merits. That's really the only way the devs would ever find out what kind of content people actually enjoy as opposed to doing it because it's the fastest, easiest, least objectionable, or only route to the Stuff™ they want.
  23. I'll be dead in the cold, cold earth before they force me to merge with the cancer that is Harbinger.
  24. Moving goalposts creates an incentive for perpetual grind. People aren't doing operations and flashpoints for enjoyment. They are playing them because the rewards for completing these activities are a necessary evil in getting the gear or items they want. Making it even more tedious wouldn't do anything other than cause players to leave the game. The actual solution to your grievance is to simply give everyone the best gear / rewards in the game, and then they will only play the content they enjoy for its own sake. At that point, good luck finding anyone at all in operations or flashpoints.
  25. Many months ago, the exotic isotope stabilizers sold by the Jawa scrap peddler on the Fleet were useful for making Dark Projects. Now, the exotic isotope stabilizer is not really used for anything in high demand. The Jawa was always my principal means of acquiring isotope stabilizers for Dark Projects because I could earn command crates and get the scrap on my own without having to get steamrolled in PvP. Now I'm required to PvP, which I don't really enjoy, or hope to win rolls in group content that I also generally avoid due to frustration. Will you please, for the love of God and all that is holy, put REFINED isotope stabilizers on the Jawa vendors?
