  1. Yes an "Imperial Model" would be nice so long as it, too, can be acquired by anyone. I've got a Dark Jedi whose getting really tired of T7's disapproving tone ...
  2. I particularly would like the Hood Toggle option - should be doable since they can obviously kill hoods for Togruta and Nautolan on otherwise hooded armors. Also love the idea of setting up specific gear/ability loadouts / keybinds for switching between specs or for PVE vs PVP
  3. OK - That makes more sense than anything I had come up with previously. Also explains why the controls to do the reset/venting would be on the players side (aside from the meta of forcing the player to actually make the decision.) Thanks
  4. So I'm going to be running a Star Wars table top game for some friends in the near future and wanted to use the events of the Esseles FP as a simple contained one shot adventure that can lead into a more expansive game if the players want to continue. I'm having issues with the security lockdown portion of the scenario from a lore / verisimilitude perspective. Minor Spoilers Ahead ..... . . . . . . . . I'm not an engineer, but it seems to me that requiring the engineering compartment to be vented into space during a reactor reset is poor design. I like the moral question the scenario presents, but I'd like to have a plausible explanation on hand if a player has the same thought that I did. Is this just an inherent flaw in the starship design? Is this a flaw in the design of the Esseles (and others of the same model) specifically? Is there an actual good reason for this particular system design? Or can someone help me tweak the events here to keep a similar moral discussion but that makes more plausible sense?
  5. Not exact, but very similar to Remnant Arkanian Trooper from the Alliance Supply Crates https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/remnant-arkanian-trooper/
  6. The only issue with making the various near-humans additional colorations of the human species is the Imperial anti-alien prejudice and the fact that some Imperial NPCs actually note whether or not the PC is Human or Alien. In thoery I guess this could still be handled if there's a way to tie a Human/Alien flag in the code to what choice of coloration you gave to a human character, but it would likely be simpler to create a blanket "Near Human" species as a direct copy of the Human except tossing in a couple of different skin color, eye color, and other small variations that would essentially let you make most of the "human looking except for [X]" species. I, for one, would like to have the tattoo options in order to have a Kiffar The issue with the catch-all species would be in not having a separate Species-specific social ability, or the ability for any NPCs to reference your species directly other than being "alien" or "near human" For that matter, it's always bugged me that Cyborg is a separate species rather than have cybernetic options for all species. Especially since the only cybernetic about a "Cyborg" species are small bits on their face/head unless you also pop for the cybernetic armor bits.
  7. ^ This Also, if the romance is the only thing stopping their release as a playable species, there's a simple solution - auto flag characters of the species as "no Romance" from the outset and make it overtly obvious to the player when choosing the species that they would not be able to romance any companions. A slightly more complex solution would be to include flirt and romance options as normal but find a way to skip the make-out scenes. I can think of ways to do this, but it would require an extra line or two of dialog from the 8 Class VAs and a little creative splicing in of scene switchouts for those characters which might be more work than they'd want for a single species release, but would have the option available for any future species with similar concerns. Point being, solutions can be found to the "problem" if they wanted to.
  8. One thing to be said for the "Full Line" taxi - as opposed to the "Fade-to-black" style: On several occasions the pathing of the Full Flight taxi has taken me in such a way that I have seen areas of the map that my normal questing would not typically take me too or shown me things on top of high areas that i wouldn't have seen from the ground, making me realize there is some way to get up there - now I've got to figure out how. You do not get that with the Fade-to-Black style
  9. Would love to have playable Kel Dor species. I was thinking about the voice modulation for the mask and was thinking that could actually be one of the customizations - have a small handful of different modulation options (including a none, preferably.) You'd obviously need to be able to hear the voice to make that decision, but it's pretty easy to get the character to speak during creation. All that would be needed would be to add some manner of hearing a voice clip during instances of the Appearance Customization Station.
  10. Please Delete - non question if I had looked a little deeper
  11. That is specifically why I included that "(mostly)" there Do they not have any requirement if you are their original boss? I have not done it with a SW or Trooper yet so I don't know, but I figured since the other such companions still require having Influence 10 even if you are a member of the original class that got them (I was able to skip the quests on Qyzen since my Consular had Inf. 10 already) I assumed it would be the same with them. If not, that's even better since I'm not a big fan of using them anyway.
  12. no different light or dark, no difference Imp or Pub. Starting with KotFE and into KotET all characters receive the same companions at the same point throughout those story chapters. Eventually you will unlock Alliance Alerts which will let you opt to go on little side missions to recruit additional companions if you want, but those are (mostly) same regardless of Force alignment or original faction. One thing to note, while you will get a lot of companions throughout the story, the story chapters themselves dictate which companion you will use during that chapter of the story. You will be able to select which companion -you- want to use during other activities, but for the playing of the story chapters, the companion choice is dictated for you. Lana ends up being the go-to companion for the most story chapters, so if you want to spend time/resources increasing companion Influence rating for better performance, my suggestion would be to start with hers.
  13. it is, but you have to open your mission Log (default [L]) to see it.
  14. have received nothing - not in email, not in junk, not in SPAM
  15. I'm curious what affect this new system - particularly the much larger total points needed to hit either Dark I or Light I is going to have on the Alignment-based portion of the Inquisitor (excuse me Sorcerer and Assassin) storyline(s) ...
  16. I'm rather indifferent - I don't necessarily like it, but I don't particularly dislike it either. I think it's a different perspective based mostly on my play-style. Prior to 5.0 - I ran Heroics and some Flashpoints, maybe took some time to go scout around for HK parts and worked on building up Alliance commander influence. Most of these rewarded credits and some of these rewarded Green crystals that I used to upgrade my gear to 208's. Once I had all my 208's (and the 208's for my tank spec) I really didn't have anything to do with the green crystals so I started buying 208's to send to a different character and kept earning credits and Alliance crates for the cosmetic gear (most of which is really ugly, but there's a couple gems in there that are worth looking for.) I never really have the time to push for much of the content that would garner Blue or Purple crystals in quantity enough for being worth buying gear upgrades to the 216's or 224's, so i really didn't bother. Found that I enjoyed lowbie PVP while getting Valor for the DvL achievements, but once I hit 65, end-game PVP was nothing but a stun/slaughter-fest that I couldn't do anything for 20 minutes, so I stopped bothering. Post 5.0 - I run Heroics and some Flashpoints, tried an uprising - these activities still get me credits, and some earn me Alliance crates. I don't get Crystals any more, but I get a ton of Blue 220 gear from drops in the Heroics. Some of these are upgrades to my current gear, some are upgrades to my Tanking gear, some get sent to other characters to upgrade their previous 208 gear. I also randomly get these Command Crates that sometimes have blue and purple 230 gear in them, and even have picked up a couple with nifty set bonuses (something I would have never seen pre-5.0 based on the game activities I normally do.) The random cosmetic stuff in the Command Crates has mostly been either ungodly ugly or just basic bland and nondescript, so it gets disintegrated, along with most of the pets. I pull out any mounts I get to either collect or save for the GTN later (I should be doing this with the pets, too, but that's only just occurred to me for some reason.) One thing I will say, since gear seems BiS gear seems to be mostly non-existent at this point, max-level PVP has been a lot more interesting and I've been able to get in and learn some of what I'm doing to the point that I actually enjoy and look forward to queuing, now. tl;dr - Command Rank and Command Crates don't affect me one way or another, based purely on play style. I do the same things in game now that I did before 5.0 and get roughly the same rewards from it. If you've been around a while and already have all of the Rep from the tokens or focus on "end game" Ops and hard Mode/Nightmare stuff, I can see where you would be negatively affected by this system, however.
  17. The anniversary gifts/rewards can also be seen here - http://www.swtor.com/swtor5/rewards
  18. I wonder if this also happens if you get hit while being lifted/choked, because I would have sworn I was being choked, but then I just kept going up up up ...

    Noob guide?

Yup, I discovered this last night on a Civil War match that was literally fought in the middle for the entire game. Each side had a single node - I had capped ours about 2 seconds before the Imps got theirs - everyone else spent the entire game fighting over the middle as I watched the two damage meter slowly tick away. We won that one my 20 points, because we started damaging their ship just a split second before they started hitting ours ... I ranked near the bottom in the overall scoring for that game, but boy I felt good for capping that node when I did - noob luck and all.
  20. So I'm hoping someone with more PVP experience can tell me what just happened ... We're in Civil War, fighting over the far right node. I'm running in to help, get into a mass melee and then suddenly I'm flying up up up. I was launched so high that I landed on TOP of the tower thing behind the node and fell far enough before landing on top of it that I died from fall damage on landing. I tried reading back through the combat log in my chat window, but all it said was I killed myself due to fall damage. Any clues from the more experienced as to what the heck happened or how someone gave this Shadow wings?
  21. One of the changes with 5.0 that was stated would be addressed in the future was not mentioned at all - PVP Weapons and their new (supposedly unintentional) Valor requirements. Eric said this was unintentional and would be addressed at some point in the future. Was wondering if there's an update on that situation that can be discussed, yet? Is there a plan - Tuesday, January, when should we expect to hear about those?
  22. I have now opened 6 Command Crates and received 2 pieces of Set-Bonus gear. Here's a fun bit of stupidity, however. In the most recent box was an Orange headpieces shell with 230 blue mods - "Eternal Commanders MK-2 Stalkers Cap" or something like that. One of the Set pieces i have is the "Eternal Commanders MK-3 Stalkers Cap" which is Purple shell with purple 230 mods and set bonus What i find terribly stupid? The blue 230 headpiece has more Mastery and Endurance than the Purple Set piece. Only thing the Purple has going for it is the Set Bonus and slightly more Power. I'm certainly not a Gearing expert, but it seems to me that the Blue 230 is better than the Purple 230 Set piece in this case?
  23. Depends on which chapters you are between. I tried doing this after Chapter 6 (escaped at start of Ch. 7 Into the Void) and tried every method I know of to get into the Odessen base - walking in, porting to one of the Alliance people, etc. EVERY option auto-triggered the start of Ch. 7 I finally sat through the opening movies for the chapter -then- was able to eventually escape out and use my base as normal.
  24. That's all well and good if the dead bodies stick around; in this case, there were no bodies left to loot after the cut. I do like the idea of a toggle (in preferences like the rest) to just switch off Auto-Play. BW could have it ON as default, even, which would literally affect no one's gameplay experience unless you wanted to take the step to turn it off.
