  1. I'm looking forward to the datacrons. Being a PvP player I think I'm quite good at walking on ledges and aiming my jumps. It would be nice Huttball practice as opposed to fighting a NPC for an hour Next?
  2. This is a forum. For discussion. For people to voice their opinions about this game. And that's what they're doing. What don't you understand?
  3. So 500 UC for first shard. 1000 for subsequent for a week. 4 shards for a piece of gear. 14 pieces of gear. ... That's... almost 50k UC to gear a single character. I started this game a little less than a year ago, do almost exclusively PvP, and I do not have 50k UC. If I did, I'd be mad to use it on a single character on gear that won't even be legacy bound (?). This can't go through without changes.
  4. Did you read what he even said? The staff themselves said gearing through UCs will be slower than outright crafting it or even buying from the GTN. I agree with KendraP's suggestion: make 248+ gear have no stat effect on PvP if PvPers cannot obtain it through PvP.
  5. This. This is important. This is a game. Everyone is here to have fun. If we are forced to do something we don't find fun in order to continue having fun, we will leave. It's not about whether this new method of obtaining gear is "right" or "wrong" or "worse" or "better", as long as people don't find it fun. 5.0 was bad because you had to do unfun stuff to get through GC. Then they improved it by letting us gear by doing fun stuff, and people were okay with that. In the end the fact remains that the only way to reasonably gear multiple characters is to do the longest operation in NiM mode, which is just... bad. In my opinion there are no two ways about this.
  6. Yes, T5 gear implementation is a HORRIBLE middlefinger to PvPers. You are seriously giving us two options: play NiM ops or spend billions of credits. I'd rather stop playing than do a 4-hour op, and PvP doesn't make a lot of money so buying them is not an option.
  7. I do feel we kind of brought this upon ourselves because in Ranked you have farming groups which make Ranked rewards really easy to gain with a 8 man group even if no one knows how to play PvP. Warzones are well, warzones and they've never had any serious rewards to them. As a PvPer I'm at a loss on how they can make this new tier of gear available to PvPers but also remain hard to get. Which is why I think they should either give a 258 bolster or 248 under-bolster.
  8. This is terrible. Bioware should cap the PvP stats at 248 (i.e.gesr higher than 248 will be bought down to 248) OR make this gear available through PvP. I only ever do warzones, but I will venture out into Ranked if I have to. I will NEVER do a 4 hour operation though - 15 mins Voidstars already feel too long. Or a 258 bolster. The recent PvP updates were nice but new T5 gear is going to be leaving with me a VERY sour taste if the only way to craft them is to do NiM ops.
  9. They behave as level 1 companions even at 50 as far as crafting is concerned. Makes sense since they let us level them to 50 for nothing.
  10. Nope. 1. They (Acina and Marr) can only craft 1 item at a time (like how it is for F2P and Preferred). 2. Their crit chance is the same as a level 1 comp even if they're 50. 3. They take the full craft time even at level 50. I learnt this the hard way after taking Marr from 1 to 50 using gifts.
  11. Wait, where did they mention about these buffs? What exactly are they changing?
  12. I recently sold a whole bunch of 240 augs for 25k something a piece. I wasn't paying attention when listing them and assumed it'd keep the initial price I set. Something probably happened and listed a lot of them for default price instead. I didn't even open the mails to see who bought them. When I clicked on 'claim all' and saw that I got a bunch of 20ks that's when I realised what had happened 😀

Remove all healing abilities from all DPS classes.
  14. Seriously, why is not like this already? OR add weapon slots to outfits.
  15. If this was already planned, awesome! If not, pls do this. Let everyone regardless of level be able to have fun there. I'm already imagining (hoping? dreaming?) that a few top SHs will become dueling hotspots so it'd be great if there was a terminal there to mimic actual warzones and arenas.
  16. I thought I would permanently become a lurker on these... "compromised"? forums but I'm replying only because I have had experience with moderating games in the past and also with a lot players asking the exact same question as you did. So yeah, WHY shouldn't "hackers" be named and shamed in public? First, the obvious. If you're plain wrong, publicly calling them a "hacker" will lead to witch-hunting, death threats, yadda yadda. Basically, not a good idea. And yes, you CAN be wrong. You can NEVER be sure, as a player, that another player is hacking, no matter how "frigging smart" you are at the game. You did not write the code for the game and you do not know how it can be manipulated or errr... "intentionally glitched". Secondly, even if they were a "hacker": BioWare has to do their best to protect the privacy of EVERYONE who uses their services. If someone's privacy was compromised on their platform it can be legally disastrous for them. This is why you will never get updates when you report a "hacker" to Customer Support. This is why you are not allowed to use player names on the forums. Think about it this way - in civilised societies criminals are not lynched by mobs, even though some may argue that that would be a more efficient crime deterrent. Everyone regardless of what they do is subject to the same rights and laws as everyone else
  17. Thanks. I'll do that from next time.
  18. Current ED is not even a month old so I think playing for 6 years is irrelevant here. But you know, you're 100% right and I'm convinced. I was wrong and I'm sorry for posting here. I'll go and learn to play. Have a nice day
  19. Why do you keep attacking me instead of my argument? I'm lost. Teach me how to survive as Shadow. Teach me how to 1v1 any class that isn't VG/PT.
  20. Ever heard of resolve and stun breakers? I can stun for 4 seconds at best. I don't have DCDs on my Shadow or Vanguard unfortunately... unless you mean stealth out in which case he heals to full regardless. Or you mean my small Vanguard heal which everyone knows is a joke (that's another DPS heal that should go).
  21. Started SWTOR just a few months ago, but I'm already at Valor 100 on a few characters so I think I know what I'm talking about. I'll duel you if you're on Satele Shan I don't care about the "history" of the class, all I can say is right now ED is overpowered. Are there more overpowered DCDs available to other classes? Yes, doesn't change the fact that ED is too. Why does my spec matter? I play Sage and Commando heals and every DPS class apart from Knight. Still doesn't change the fact that ED is overpowered and should not be available to A DPS class. I never said DPS classes shouldn't have DCDs. ED is a potential H2F, which is much more than a DCD. DPS class can have DCDs and Guardians even more so since they're supposed to be bulky, but they should not have heals. 12 stacks of immunity is better than 12 stacks of heals. Do you have anything to add to the discussion apart from nitpicking about my playtime and choice of class?
  22. For PvP, as far as *damage* is concerned... If you want big numbers at the end on the scoreboard you can go with Sorcerer. You just have a fixed rotation that you can keep spamming. You won't do any real damage, and your hardest abilities hit for just a meagre 20k but you'll can easily get top damage in the entire WZ ("fluff") as a Sorc, especially as DoT spec. With Assassin you'll feel a lot more powerful and you can have very good burst as Deception. You have a lot of stun, slow, mez, etc. You have a bunch of abilities that will always crit for 20k+ and can be used relatively much more frequently. As far as mobility is concerned I'll go with Sorc again since your cleanse is on a very short cooldown. You have range, plus all 3 Sorc specs only have 1-2 abilities that need be cast while standing still, which makes kiting easy. Shadow on the other hand is melee. You have 2 gap closers (only 1 against Snipers) and only 1 ranged soft stun. You'll find it hard to fight a good ranged kiter. Survivability: Shadow has no survivability. You go in and do damage and hope you can kill them before they kill you. You have a resist-all-stuns ability every 1 minute or something. In case things don't go right you can stealth out and run away though. Sages have way too many defenses. Every 15 seconds you have a ~12k damage absorb shield. Every 30(?) seconds you have a huge heal that crits for 25k-30k, and it's off the GCD. You have a small HoT with 100% uptime. You have a immune-to-everything barrier every 3(?) mins that can be used while stunned (but not netted). Apart from that you have a hardcasted heal that you won't really use a lot unless you have an LoS object to hide behind.
  23. That's like saying the south pole is colder than the north . They're both still OP and should not be available to DPS classes, at least after they were buffed in 5.9 (no clue how FD/ED was earlier). I'd argue that even tanks should not have access to a potential heal-to-full, especially now since only 1 of the three tanks have this. As a healer I know that if I have a Commando on my team they get the lowest priority even if their HP drops really low, since they can handle themselves for a long time. Same goes for Guardians now - they pop FD, get a H2F, and I always feel like I wasted a bunch of force and DCDs when I could be healing a Shadow or Sentinel or Vanguard or Scoundrel or Gunslinger instead... Anything that is even a potential H2F is overpowered. Healing should be left to healers. These OP DCDs are what is supposedly ruining PvP.
