  1. The Hero Engine DOES suck. I think even Cryptic's MMO engine is better (NEVER thought I would say something like that!). SWTOR uses a modified version of the Hero Engine. The developers of the Hero engine have licensed it out - they don't care about SWTOR. http://www.industrygamers.com/news/swtor--rift-launches-push-new-hero-engine-licenses/
  2. I'm looking forward to the video that explains how I can end my journey.
  3. You're ship actually IS in the Orbital Station - even if you travelled there by shuttle. It's a continuity error that helps to break immersion
  4. Just another page in the book of fail that is "on-rails space combat" The game would be better if they got rid of the whole thing. Do it properly or not at all. There is no try!
  5. I haven't logged in for the last few weeks. Just not feeling it!
  6. "X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter" style space-combat AND travel. And MUCH better graphics would also be good.
  7. Actually, it is very important to me. I want to immerse myself in the "diagetic" reality of the game. I don't want to "pretend", or constantly lie to myself, about the universe of SWTOR.
  8. That's true. Many group missions don't have any group dialogue at all.
  9. I agree. I hardly have ANY social points because when I group, nobody ever wants to turn missions in together. Still Social Level 1 here.
  10. This is her: http://www.dailybruin.com/index.php/blog/spotlight/2012/01/4f14a2c7423a4
  11. Agree with OP. Either do space travel + combat properly or don't do it at all (i.e. not on rails). "Do or do not. There is no try."
  12. Same. I'm only level 33 but losing interest Sounds like the game might be worth checking out in a few months, after some more of these content updates - so I might unsubscribe for now.
  13. I never use the Freezing Force thing - it seems utterly useless. Pommel Strike sounds good and I always TRY to use it - however it NEVER is available, even when enemies seem "incapacitated" (required for use). I didn't take Enure at first but it can be useful. Just gives you an extra 10 seconds and 30% health to neutralise all threats before you die.
  14. I buy most materials from the GTN, when they are cheap. In the end, it's usually MUCH cheaper than crew skill missions. The missions are a gamble - you MIGHT crit. but you probably wont.
  15. Actually, I heard that Alec Guinness was quite annoyed that his character was killed off in the first film.
  16. This bug is annoying me as well. For me, it only happens with my crafted Offhand > Shield items from Artifice. All blue and purple shields I can make show different stats when linked. It's like the item link tooltip only shows the stats for a lower quality version of the item. E.g. Overkill Memory Shield Generator (blue, level 31) My inventory tooltip shows: +25 Strength +50 Endurance +21 Power +132 Force Power +10 Defense Rating The item link tooltip shows: +25 Strength +50 Endurance +162 Force Power +10 Defense Rating The link that appears in chat doesn't include the item name prefix (if it has one). For example, if I link "Redoubt Tactile Shield Generator" the link in chat only shows as "Tactile Shield Generator".
  17. To be honest, I wish I had more direct control over my Jedi and his light-sabre. e.g. simple force powers like Push, Pull, Jump, Speed, etc. that can be used out of combat to just show off and look cool. It kinda feels like Bioware thought that everyone would want to be a Jedi Knight, so they put all of their effort into making the Jedi Knight class LESS fun. They should have just madethe other classes MORE fun. In one quest I had to light signal fires - I pulled the torch out of thin air whenever I lit one. That's crap - why aren't I using the Force to carry the torch behind me? That would be MUCH more immersive (helping me feel like a powerful Jedi!) and wouldn't interfere with normal gameplay or combat.
  18. I've been REALLY wanting a hood toggle as well. The character customisation is woefully inadequate - especially for an MMO. And even more so since APB and Eve-Online Incarna. And please also stop my robe from making my butt look like a table!
  19. This thread has one of the highest view counts (5K) - surely Bioware must notice!
  20. Yeah I lost a mission reward window because I didn't select + accept a reward in time, due to my companions completing a gathering mission. Luckily, the window re-appeared after I finished my NEXT mission. Dunno it that would have happened if I'd logged out etc. Didn't anyone mention this during testing? Hmm.
  21. I've never played WoW, but I think the movement controls in SWTOR are crap. Seems very fiddly and it's hard to get good viewing angles.
