  1. Because with so many abilities on each class already, asking players to remember that they work differently in PvP is asking a *lot*.
  2. Deception, overwhelming firepower...sounds like Order 66 to me. Get past the lightsaber and a Jedi is nothing more than a lightly armored footsoldier.
  3. You lot need to play KOTOR 2 again.
  4. Sorry OP, but Cover Pulse takes the "Worst Affected by Delay" crown.
  5. If you have a free moment, especially in PvP or difficult PvE encounters, definitely exit and reenter. Often you'll have a lull in your rotation where you'd otherwise be spamming Snipe; instead of wasting the energy on mediocre DPS, get up and roll or crouch to refresh your buffs. It's not something to micromanage specifically for, but it does help both your energy regeneration and your survivability/utility and most importantly, your mobility.
  6. If anyone is actually dumb enough to think that an email like this, if it was real, would come from LUCASARTS and not BIOWARE, they deserve to have their account hijacked.
  7. Good point. Let's all find out what the best class is, then delete all of our characters and roll only that class. Anyone who rolls anything else is obviously a whining idiot.
  8. Gladly, considering they have no expertise. I'd rather wear my Champion gear.
  9. Yep. Because if everyone goes to one profession, it's totally not overpowered. Think about it, genius. If people are stupid for not picking the only good PvP crafting skill, don't you think that means that one skill is THAT much better than all the others?
  10. Do the blue medpacks add 15% to your max health? No? That's a big deal.
  11. Crafted pieces don't have Expertise. Therefore they're useless in PvP. Also, yes crafters can make gear thats ON PAR with raid gear--raid gear that EVERYONE can get. Biochems can make reusables that NO ONE ELSE can get and that are MUCH, MUCH better than anything any other character can get.
  12. Doesnt fix the problem, just adds a money sink. Now, if they made the Biochem reusables BoE instead, or gave other crew skills items that could help (like gear with extra expertise or better set bonuses) that were as easily attainable as the Biochem recipes, THEN it'd be fair. Or they can just nerf the goddamned stims to be barely better than what non-biochems can get.
  13. You're all missing the point. There is NO CRAFTABLE PVP GEAR. Biochem is the ONLY crew skill that gives any PvP benefit at all. Therefore Biochem is the ONLY viable PvP crewskill, and all other skills will gimp your character SEVERELY as you wont have access to the ridiculously powerful medpacks/stims/adrenals.
  14. BioChem is the only useful skill for PvP. You can't craft Expertise items. No schematic for anything with Expertise is lootable. Therefore, Biochem is the only PvP skill. It also means that if youre not Biochem (and thus don't have the extra heal) you are at a SEVERE disadvantage in PvP.
  15. In that case, crafters should be able to easily make armor and weapons that are considerably better than Battlemaster gear. It's only fair.
  16. The problem is that Biochem has access to reusable stims and medpacks that are CONSIDERABLY better than anything non-biochem characters can get.
  17. Not true. Ran Hard Mode Black Talon a few times last week, and nearly every drop was for Bounty Hunters. We didnt have a BH in the group at any point.
  18. Best way to use Sniper Volley is for a massive Rapid Fire sequence, especially if you have some Alacrity on your gear and the 4% talent. Step 1: Build 3 stacks of Sniper Volley Step 2: Hit Target Acquired Step 3: Series of Shots, Rapid Fire, Series of Shots, Series of Shots Step 4: Ambush/Followthrough Then burn Adrenaline Probe if you're somehow still in combat and haven't killed three people with that combo. All in under six seconds, too. Yes, it's a massive energy drain, but it's also easily the highest six second burst damage you'll ever deal.
  19. It even plays the animation, but no particle effect or ability use. Gotten my *** killed more times than I can count. Same thing happens with Entrench, Evasion, Shield Probe and Rapid Fire, but Cover Pulse is BY FAR the most noticeable and painful.
  20. Get your Accuracy over 100% and suddenly deflection is that much less of an issue.
  21. You do realize that Cover Pulse (the ability you're referencing) requires the Sniper/Gunslinger to be in cover before using it, right? Making it much less versatile than the other knockback skills? it's a fair tradeoff. Edit: the Commando knockback is a bit much, I'll give you that. But it doesnt root, only slow.
  22. Thankyou guys for supporting this thread, hopefully these issues will be resolved. I'll edit the OP to reflect the channeled abilities fix, but will emphasize that that was only one issue--for example, Cover Pulse still rarely works on command. I'd also like to state that I do perform very well in PvP and PvE on my 50 Sniper, and would like to think I know quite a bit about playing the class. None of that changes the fact that the class is not as viable as others in a PvP, solo PvE or raid DPS setting. A perfect example of a PvE fight that absolutely destroys Snipers (moreso than any other class) is the Yadira Ban fight at the end of Hard Mode Black Talon. Yes, her Force Pull affects every class, but only the Sniper needs to reset after moving out of it, instead continuing the assault with instant abilities (too energy intensive for Marksman/Lethality, possibly easier with Engineering) and immediately resuming normal attacks when the attack finishes. It may sound like only a short gap in damage, but with Enrage timers what they are if you have two "average" gear Snipers in the group you might not be able to win that fight. There are many other fights like this that involve area damage, area or random CC, or other movement-encouraging mechanics that really penalize a Sniper for staying in cover long enough to use his channeled abilities. In some of these fights, a "rotation" is just not feasible.
  23. Ha. That's nothing. I have a screen of me going 46-0. On a Sniper.
  24. Don't worry, the best gear in the game isn't moddable. It also looks like crap. So enjoy spending your time grinding for crappy looking gear that you can't mod.
