  1. Well the main demographic of video gamers are straight therefore most video game companies will believe it or not appeal to their main demographic. It would be like me as a biracial person moving to Japan, turning on the TV and wondering why 99% of TV shows feature ethnic Japanese people and why there are no brown people. I'm the minority since and I'm not always going to be represented. If I am, cool. If not, no big deal. That's a real world situation so in a fictional video game it should mean even less since you can be whatever you want to be.
  2. That would completely contradict Scourge's backstory if they made him M/M only. In the Revan book, he found Darth Nyriss initially attractive and beautiful from the statues outside of her hideout on Dromund Kaas. But he was taken back by her appearance when she met him in person as she was wrinkled and looked like a "hag". So he definitely has attraction to females.
  3. I see people talking about 'representation' and 'how alienating it is to see just hetero options for vanilla companions' but I really question how people with this mindset ever got into gaming in the first place. Video games are meant to be about immersing yourself into a different universe, not about social/political issues. A great story is meant to come first especially in an RPG. The reality is not every person is going to be represented and that's not a bad thing necessarily. You just make do with what is given. Can't people let go of their real world identity for a few hours in a fictional video game universe? Like I don't see many Chinese looking NPC's in Swtor yet I don't see dozens of threads of Chinese players complaining about the lack of diversity and representation. Their mindset is 'If I'm represented, cool. If not, who cares?'. I wish others could be like that sometimes. I have no issue with LGBT romances many of my toons are in SGR's but it's not something that needs upfront attention. If it's added, cool. If not, make do with something else. We're not all going to have our way all the time.
  4. I heard in the livestream that we will be given the option as a level 70 player to skip Kotfe/Kotet straight to Ossus if we desire when 5.10 comes out. But I'm wondering what will happen to companion alerts/vanilla companions reunions should we do this? Because I also heard that you should wrap up any alliance alerts before doing Ossus or else the alerts will be "closed". So what will happen to Talos, Ashara, Xalek and Andronikos should I skip Kotfe/Kotet with my level 70 female Inquisitor toon? Will she lose her vanilla companions for good since all four of them are alliance alerts?
  5. Sadly I have to agree with pretty much everybody's points. I kind of get sad entering my personal ship after starting Kotfe because it's just a ghost ship. At least when you finished your conversations with companions on vanilla, at least they'd stand around making the ship feel occupied. Now it's just empty and feels like a piece of Swtor history. I'm not expecting Qyzen Fess for example to interact with my Sith Warrior for example but it would be nice if your vanilla companions at least interacted with their respective class. Though saying that, Qyzen like most alien NPCs don't need voice actors since they just recycle the same sounds for every conversation so they could do more perhaps with Khem, Qyzen, Blizz, Broonmark and other alien companions.
  6. I've been thinking about the newer expansion coming up with Jedi Under Siege and I can't help but wonder what roles the old companions will play for the story. I'm talking about the original 5 companions for each class. I can't help but feel nostalgic for the old days when it was just my Warrior with Vette, Quinn, Jaesa, Pierce and Broonmark. It feels as if our vanilla companions have just become paperweights with no relevancy since Kotfe/Kotet. Don't get me wrong, I like Lana and Theron but I'm just kinda fatigued with them now as they've just been the main people since Kotfe. The issue is since many of these companions have been killable, they have to be pretty much regarded as dead for everybody else since all future content will have to assume the possibility that these companions won't be available for everybody. This has always been the problem with allowing companions to be killed and why Quinn was never killable in the main Warrior story. I guess the only way to solve this would be somehow resurrecting all your main story companions if you killed them but that would be impossible and people would complain that their choices don't matter. I just miss our vanilla companions... Let me know what you think!
  7. Agreed. The Dashade companions could do with some more customizations too.
  8. If the explosive barrels would consistently burst when the Sithspawn lands on them, it would be a piece of cake but they don't unfortunately. You have to be so precise where you stand for him to land on the barrel. All it takes is one failed barrel explosion to mess up the entire boss fight.
  9. I recently was doing the dread seed missions and got to the part where you have to go to the Arcanum and stop Lord Tagriss. At the end of the mission, you have to fight a red-coloured Dashade called 'Akriss Veng' who has an awesome looking customisation (horned shoulderpads, mask/visor and white painted stripes on him). I would really love to see such a customisation available for Khem Val/Ak'ghal Usar especially since Khem Val is returning in the Jedi Under Siege expansion in two months time. This is the Dashade I'm talking about btw: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Akriss_Veng.png
  10. It sounds interesting. It's probably going to be a lot like Iokath with the daily grinding and such but I'm looking forward to seeing Ossus (I still need to read through my Tales of the Jedi comics that I bought though lol). I just hope old companions will play some sort of role in the story though, I'm so fatigued with Theron and Lana being the main people in every part of the newer story. I like them but I just want some of our old companions to be featured too since they've all become paperweights since Kotfe/Kotet. But the difficulty is since Bioware has given options for certain companions to be killed, those companions have to be pretty much regarded as dead for all other players since all future content will have to assume the possibility that those certain companion aren't available. That was always going to be the problem when allowing you to kill companions. The only way to solve this would be that the 5 original class companions for each class would somehow have to be "resurrected" and returned to their respective classes. But that would be impossible and people would complain that their choices of who they kill don't matter.
  11. Agreed 100%. At the end of the day, Doc's character and backstory has been established as a heterosexual womaniser much like Han Solo. In fact, I'd wager Bioware based Doc off Solo considering how similar the Jedi Knight story was to Luke Skywalker's story. As you said with Nadia and Jaesa, their sexuality is very vague thus being bi is open for them. Whereas Doc's sexuality is very clear and we can make all the assumptions we want like "Maybe he's just in the closet" or "He's pretending to be a womaniser to hide his bi feelings" but these points are just baseless speculations and opinions unless Bioware say anything further on him.
  12. Is it? I noticed you couldn't explain why my point was silly. Is a character sticking to his core personality "silly" to you? That's the thing that everybody remembers about Doc, he's the Jedi Knight's "ladies man" companion. He even flirts with Kira in less than 10 seconds of meeting her on Balmorra lol. Anyway I'm in no mood for an argument. So let's just agree to disagree.
  13. Why not? Dashade's are fully sentient aliens just like any Togruta, Cathar etc. I don't see the big deal about a romance personally. To each their own.
  14. Vitiate/Valkorion hands down. Some of my other favourites are : Grand Moff Kilran Darth Thanaton Darth Baras Male Sith Warrior Female Sith Inquisitor
  15. I most certainly didn't mishear what they said. On the Livestream, Keith was asked by someone in the Twitch chat if Khem Val would be romanceable on Ossus and Keith said yes. You can even see it here: (It's approximately 10:10 into the video).
  16. Making Doc bisexual would be like making Han Solo bisexual. They're both the stereotypical smooth-talking womanizers. That's the charm behind their characters and it makes sense for them to stay that way.
  17. I don't really see Doc becoming a SS romance. He's a womaniser after all. But they haven't mentioned Doc being a romance option so I assume "no" for the time being.
  18. True but they only specified Nadia and Jaesa SGR because they were only romanceable by males in the base story. Every other romance add-on has been playersexual so far.
  19. Kinda self explanatory title. I heard in the 5.10 livestream that Khem Val will be romanceable in Jedi Under Siege. Are they joking though? What do you think? I mean I'm not really complaining since I really didn't like the Ashara romance with my Sith Inquisitor because my Inquisitor is a full-on darksider and I couldn't stand her Jedi preaching when she was meant to be my Sith Apprentice. Her romance felt geared towards a lightside Inquisitor. My darkside Inqusitor would dump Ashara for his loyal bloodthirsty Dashade any day
  20. Ludo Kressh armor please! Most of the Tales of the Jedi armour has been added (Exar Kun, Ulic Qel-Droma, Naga Sadow etc) so it would make sense for the armour of the Sith who was competing with Naga Sadow at the time to be Dark Lord of the Sith to be added. Plus it looks cool being sort of gladiatorish Link to Ludo Kressh's armour (He's on the right of the picture): http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Sadow_vs_Kressh.jpg
  21. Okay so I'm very much a codex collector in Swtor, I've collected all codexes from every planet on both my Sith Warrior and Jedi Knight but one very annoying thing is trying to get codexes in flashpoints. This is mainly due to the fact codexes in flashpoints are obtained by doing the bonus missions that NOBODY ever does as most people I join groups with just want to rush through the flashpoint. Like for example on my Jedi Knight, I need to get the Emperor's Space Station codex which is obtained through the final stage of 'The Hidden Threat' bonus on The False Emperor flashpoint after defeating the Sith Entity but finding people to do the stages beforehand (destroying 10 terminals, killing 50 enemies) is like extracting teeth. Same way I want to obtain the Maelstrom Prison codex on the Maelstrom Prison flashpoint but you have to complete a stage bonus and kill a giant Terentatek at the end but nobody wants to do it, only rush. I do the bonuses on the solo/story flashpoints but they don't yield the codex, you can only get them through veteran or master flashpoints. So could obtainable codexes please be added for story/solo flashpoints in future for the collectors? I remember in the old days before the level cap I'd just be able to solo the flashpoints and get the codexes I need but that's a bygone era of Swtor.
  22. The guy is over 300 years old, 1/3 of Yoda's age when he died. Obi Wan was about 58 when he became one with the force in Episode 4 and look how old and withered he looked. I'm certainly not opposed to a Pureblood romance but I'm not that desperate for a 300 year old guy lol.
  23. So I've recently started replaying through the Jedi Knight story and completed the Esseles flashpoint yesterday and couldn't help but feel sad seeing Kilran again in it. It's not the fact that Kilran was there (he is one of my favourite characters in Swtor and was voiced by my favourite Bioware voice actor Simon Templeman aka Loghain from Dragon Age series) it was because I remembered how much of a wasted/underused character he is. He literally makes two brief appearances on the Empire side in the Black Talon over a hologram giving the Imps the task to capture the General and then makes one last brief appearance congratulating you and he is never seen, mentioned or heard from again. Not even Grand Moff Regus on Ilum mentions him after he takes his place. On the Republic side he makes a few appearances in the Esseles on hologram, one brief appearance in Taral V again on hologram and then dies in Maelstrom Prison. A grand total of four appearances for the Butcher of Coruscant most of them briefly. I can't help but feel Bioware was originally going to give him a bigger role in the story. I mean he got his own biography on the Swtor holonet giving me the idea that he was going to be a major villain as a Tarkin-like character. He was also very witty, cunning and had charm that just fit his character so well. Not to mention his skill with a sniper rifle as shown in his boss fight. I'm kind of hoping Bioware will give him the Malgus treatment saying he survived the encounter barely and say he was frozen in carbonite. But I'm not holding my breath. It just sucks to see such an awesome character wasted all these years later.
  24. Nothing implies she was "romantically involved", that's your interpretation. It says on the wiki: 'Ona was once daughter of a Senator, she was seduced to leave Coruscant to live a life of adventure among the galaxy's criminal elements by Kaliyo Djannis. However her father didn't freeze her accounts, he believed his daughter was kidnapped. Kaliyo then left Ona on the planet Ylesia, she cried for a month when Kaliyo Djannis left her.' Keyword is seduced. You can seduce somebody without being physically attracted to them, it can be done for manipulative or beneficial gains. Like a lesbian woman could seduce a straight man but does that actually make that woman attracted to men? And the actual quote from her on KOTFE when a fem flirts with her is: 'I'm too old for head games. and that's all I'm good for with women'.
  25. Kaliyo makes it pretty clear in KOTFE that she's not interested in women romantically. I can't remember exactly what she says but she says a certain line of dialogue if you flirt with her as a female when you return to Odessen and speak in the bar. As for Torian and Akaavi, I don't recall ever hearing any "light flirting" and I've played as a female Smuggler and male Bounty Hunter. Bioware needs to add what's going to make money aka story and group content. Going back and redoing companion dialogue (which will cost TONS of money which they're lacking at the moment) to cater to same sex romance isn't going to bring in a tsunami of new players apart from some thirsty players who want to watch two virtual girls kiss... Also another point to bring up is most of the companion voice actors are leaving after voicing their returning characters in KOTFE/KOTET. So at this point, it's next to impossible. I'm staunchly against breaking the lore of characters for social justice reasons.
