  1. I wonder if the op knows the only reason people are afk botting is because of biowares horribly ****** pvp rewards system that winds up being completely random after the first tier. And the amount of time it takes to farm bags for a "small chance" of a "random reward" makes it even worse.

Bioware needs to not treat their pvp stuff like a red headed stepchild and fix illum and how rewards are obtained before they even begin to worry about people afking in an attempt to minimize the pain of this horrible and poorly thought out system.

  2. Its not bioware, its the mentality of the player base. Players look at it this way, i could go out there and pvp but what do i gain from it? I need instant gratification. how can i achieve 100% instant gratification and at the same time get out of having to do anything that requires effort or play?

BINGO! = Current State of Iullum..... so now bioware has to go back to the drawing board and find ways to bribe us to do what they built for us which they thought we would want to do on our own. You can blame WoW for that....

100% wrong, see my previous post.

Fighting over points that provide no reason to fight over them gives people no reason to fight for them.

    Complex, I know.

  3. I think its fun, making the Empire cater to me so they can finish their dailies. Oh and all this could be fixed if there werent 20 Empire players to every 1 republic player. Bioware favors Empire sadly. So no fix in sight.

The population isn't the issue with illum at all, it could be, but it's not. It's not because there's no reason to fight over control of illum, there's also no reason to hunt players in illum because they provide no reward for killing enemies.

There's one thing to do, pvp dailies, even the weak attempt to introduce more pvp into illum with the "new patch notes" not much will happen, and infact it's likely people will still just sit around and win trade to finish their dailies.

    Two things need to happen,

#1) Capturing and HOLDING (the important part here) Illum need to provide some sort of measurable bonus to the faction doing this.

#2) The RNG bags are retarded, Killing players needs to provide a reward, preferrably champion commendations since there's no way to get them outside of battlemaster bags (and the champ gear via commendations costs twice as much as centurion gear, but without any viable means of actually farming the commendations... honestly even farming the centurion commendations is exceedingly painful with the 800 > 3 conversion ratio ).

  4. I think he is "crying" solely about OP/smuggler..not "every class" and your reactionary angry response basically tells me that he pegged you accurately in his post.

I also find sweet irony when I see commandos/mercs/sorcs/sages crying about ops/scoundrels, their anguish sustains me as they realize other classes can kill them (albeit good commandos/mercs do prove troublesome, if not downright impossible to kill except under very specific circumstances, same with sages/sorcs).

Lots of bads in pvp, the QQ isn't really unexpected when someone thinking they're "THEE" biggest and baddest on the field gets knocked down a notch by a knife to the shoulderblades. People seem to forget this games pvp (as all games with at least mediocre team pvp) is balanced around the team, and not 1v1 fights.

QQing because you got spanked while still making twice as many medals and coming out with more commendations win or lose then most ops/scoundrels could hope for makes this thread invalid.

  5. If that was true i would have no reason to post this.

If that was actually true why would i want operatives nerfed.

I swear some people are complete idiots, i guess calling people "bro" and saying "QQ" a lot gets to you though.

There might be a bug or exploit some people are using, I've yet to uncover any bugs with being able to spam backstab but what they said is true, it's got a 9s CD, and if you don't believe me go play one and try to spam it on something while your pet holds its attention.

  6. ya i would rather start working up another toon and gearing them out but have to spend all of my time on just one toon.

Yup, maybe it would be more bearable if they gave us champ commendations for killing people out in illum, like 1 per player kill would work great.

  7. the other problem is that the poison damage is to slow, and if you want to melee you need acid blade to cut through the mitigation roughly 50% of the classes have, you'll basically hit like a limp noodle without it, and your dot damage will be mediocre along with your range.
  8. Did you completely forget about the Centurion Commendations? You can buy PvP gear with those you know. Getting the champion gear is just a bonus based on luck.

If you don't have the time to grind for the gear you want then why should you keep playing? Good job unsubscribing. There have been plenty of posts like this already and it is clear that people are not understanding that they might ACTUALLY HAVE TO GRIND in an MMO. Shoking.

maybe if the bags had a reasonable amount of commendations in them you'd have a good point, unfortunately they don't, because 800 wz comms translates into 3 cent comms, that's a pretty steep exchange rate hike from the previou wz/merc tradeoff.

  9. No they DO have a system for dealing with stun lock. One that they have said over and over will remove stun locking from PVP altogether.

    It's called resolve

My questions is ... is it working for ANYONE? Has it ever worked?

works for targets of my operative all the time, hidden strike does it's stun and gives players hit by it a full resolve bar so they're immune to any followup stuns/snares/cc of mine, then depending on the class and if they have pvp gear they may die, or I may get stunlocked or knocked around the map like a ragdoll with all the KB's everyone has.

  10. First things first, if you don't or haven't played an operative/scoundrel at 50 you don't really know much of dick about their capabilities, other then you're getting facerolled by some people who got lucky with pvp bags (or you're just sub 50 in which case you're cannon fodder in the wz's anyway for the most part).

Since you all are experts on Operatives, what would you nerf, and how, without breaking the class?

Honestly nothing, the class works exactly how it's supposed to, and id argue compared to other classes it's a bit underpowered since hiddenstrike + stun talent fills up peoples resolve bars to 100%, making them immune to any additional CC we might want to use and easy to escape after the initial burst if they use their own cc (alot of classes have multiple forms of cc, that don't come close to filling up the resolve bar, so once we pop our cc break we can be hit again right away and are caught holding our *****). Can I burst people down fast? Some, I'm not geared to the teeth yet so those that are prove troublesome, as do certain classes that make liberal use of their multitude of CC (a knockbacked op is a less lethal op). OP's are also very squishy when targetted by other dps classes.

I can't count the number of times I've been chain cc'd by other classes or perma stunnlocked into till my eyes bleed if caught in a bad spot, or my personally favorite cc knockback, which everyone knows is the absolute best thing in the world when it comes to huttball offense and defense (annoying on other maps, complete domination on huttball) however this isn't because of poor class design, or map design, and like operatives/scoundrels it can be worked around.

and for those that are lazy and don't like to read,

TLDR - We use our classes tools to kill, and stay alive, you can do the same.

  11. Most hardcore: Darkfall, Mortal online

So far darkfall has proven to be an extremely short lived fleeting joke, and it made me very sad, and mortal online well.... I don't think bad begins to quite describe the game.

  12. My question is why would you WANT blue gear? I hit 50 less than two weeks ago and almost am full champion gear...do dailies, weeklys, get purple.

Well consider yourself one of the lucky ones, many people have been farming for a couple weeks now getting dick out of the fail tastic rng champ loot bags, it's not quite as fast with just "do dailies / weeklies / get purples" as you were lucky enough to experience.

  13. The players of this class keep perpetuating the myth they cant do anything outside of stealth.. because they dont want to be nerfed.. or are just horrible players themselves.. even a badly played melee spec OP facerolls equally geared players of equal level.

I have a Full pvp geared lvl 50 BH/Merc... 15.6k health... 30% mitigation to physical(65% with shields up).

Smuggler... from stealth drops me 14k HP during the knockdown... i pop trinket...shield... then use a stim...heal back to about 10k health..

Smuggler DOES NOT GET BEHIND ME.. doesnt restealth... pops me for 4.5k, 3.5k, 2.5k

    and im dead...

The class is broken..period...maybe some of the attacks arent beign flagged correclty as physical damage? maybe the idea of giving them a skill that ignores armor was poorly thought out?

Maybe they should suffer the HEAT buildup in the same way a BH does... 3-4 big attacks and you cant fight without using Vent heat...

Its not player skill... our guild has an Oerative healer who has played healer from 1-50 and never played the concealment spec...

He switched to the concealment spec aka the one that needs nerfing... on day 1 he was killing everyone with ease, including fully pvp equipped 50's and he wasnt familiar with the spec at all...there is no skill, just a broken class.

Hes also killed players 4 vs 1 without any assistance.. he IS a biochem howver so the perma-stims help... but the point being , no experience...day 1, faceroll everybody.

Theres a few ways to fix it, but the main thing it should not be doing is insta-gibbing both light armor users AND heavy armor users with the same amount of ease.. Ops and smugglers shouldnt get armor piercing.

Force users are the ones who should be tearing up armor users (we get very low resists to elemental aka "Force" users spell damage.

Ops as they are dont only insta-gib//faceroll squishies, they instagib everything 1 on 1 except very well geared tanks... whome they simply take a bit longer to kill.

Thats what needs fixing... they should be weak to either "Force users" or "gunners aka BH/Commando types" , not OP against everything.

That gives them a role... and more importantly...BALANCE.

or coming soon= 8 operatives vs 8 smuggler premades.

Of course just in case they dont fix it ... I think most pvpers are rolling OP/Smugg alts.... I know i am ;)

lol, a BH calling ops/scoundrels op... oh the irony.

  14. Turn in PvP medals for PvE (raid) gear.

So you can get all the raid gear via PvP.

    Problem solved?

as long as the effort to get pvp and raid gear are equal, im fine with that. Right now it's definitely not, and pvp gear is more of a crapshoot then anything else in the game.

  15. The problem with that being is you then wind up having to go raid for gear to compete in pvp, because raiders will come in with raid gear and roflstomp you all over the place. Which is what pvpers who are geared will do to new 50's as well, however in the instance of the pvpers you can achieve your gear without having to rely on x number of other people to go do stuff with you.
  16. You act like you get nothing from the bags. You get tokens. Seriously, you "GIEFMESTUFFNOW" kids get old fast.

Because the exchange rate going from 3-1 (wz > merc comms or visa versa ) to 800 wz > 3 centurion tokens is reasonable amirite? It has nothing to do with "givemestuffnow" but it does have to do with a retardedly designed gear system that's totally reliant on random chance, sure given enough time (and by enough I mean TONS of farming) you can get yourself into a full set of T1 centurion armor, ok that's a little excessive but at least you know how long it will take you at minimum to get it, the rest of the gear is pure luck, and that's purely retarded when seeing how much of an advantage having vs not having gives you.

  17. Honestly I could care less, most of the reward you get from the match is based off the medals you earn, and if you afk and get no medals you get minimal rewards. Also, with the retarded amount of commendations needed to buy one champ bag for a slight chance of getting better (currently 800 wz commendations to buy 200 mercs and have 200 wz left over), which takes about an hour-hour and a half (depending on the class, and their current gear level, some classes can farm up medals like crazy and maximize their comm gain each game).

Also there's no incentive to pvp in illum, the new patch adding "valor for killing players" won't mean **** either since people need something tangible that actually improves their character, waiting to get to valor 60 for a slight improvement over champion gear isn't it.

  18. Lol 500k+ damage with 79 kills and ZERO deaths.

And people talk about Operatives being OP? No one says anything about BH's.

People are stupid, very stupid, especially mmo gamers, and BH's can do amazing things with a pocket healer, after all they are field artillery.

  19. Maybe if all of you guys would stop ************ and play the game for what it is, which is a story-driven MMO there wouldn't be so many patches.

It's a good thing this "story driven" idea works out so well... I don't think they ever thought about what would happen when people "finished" the "stories".

  20. I'd be surprised to learn that the game is shrinking already.

I wouldn't, I came into this game with an impartial attitude after seen so many flops in the past and while I did enjoy playing through the operative storyline to 50 there isn't much left to do after that point. The pvp is mediocre at best, the pve is seriously lacking, bioware should of spent less money on voiceover and more money on making a quality product.

I'm sure they'll have enough fanboys that will keep playing regardless though since the monthly costs of keeping mmo servers up and running are relatively small, however don't expect anything grand to happen in the next 6-12 months, especially if they keep up with their trend of fixing **** that doesn't matter like "the darth title not displaying for inquisitors" instead of the many many debilitating game bugs. [or illums ****** non existent pvp, and the garbage RNG loot bags].
