You could of used ‘Damage’ instead of ‘Burst potential’ in your original post. For me, burst potential meant 3 GCDs from the beginning of the fight. In which I would be right (when comparing Scoundrel and Shadow). If you meant damage then I meant that Operatives could do similar damage with Volatile Strike, not equal amounts of damage as Death Knell in 3 GCDs. The main point I was making is with the guaranteed 3 GCD full crit (w/o Boiler) from it. Either way I’m still taking out 45% - 50% HP with my opener with it.

stares at Volatile Strike For the uninitiated: Bludgeon automatically critically hits targets affected by your unexploded Blood Boiler and triggers it immediately. Dealing damage this way causes your next Backblast to critically hit. Or in Imp Scum: Veiled Strike automatically critically hits targets affected by your unexploded Volatile Substance and triggers it immediately. Dealing damage this way causes your next Backstab to critically hit. Basically almost half your health in 3 GCDs. The only difference is that I can actually (85% of the time) defend against i because the animation is obvious and basically every Scoundrel is running it. I personally don’t run it because I don’t run meta builds in Ranked/Unranked.

Aren’t you going to lose out on most if not all DPS amps just to survive the first seconds before a sin can just reopen you again while En Garde is gone or if they just wait out En Garde. Seems like this solution would only work in a 1v1 scenario. Which therefore wouldn’t be worth the probably high cost of outfitting in En Garde.

Let’s calm down and have a reasonable discussion perhaps. Also as a Scoundrel main i can say that Scoundrel is not fine right now. I found it funny that Catalyzed Toxins has a 9 second cool down increase while Blood Boiler did not receive the same treatment while using Volatile Strike. I try not to use meta builds as it makes me feel like my wins were deserved. Volatile Strike needs to be nerfed, Death Knell needs to be nerfed or at least tweaked.Ive faced alot Scoundrel/Operatives in the last week and more than half of them were using Volatile Strike/Tacticans. And of those matches half of them called me ‘trash’ for not using the same brain dead meta as they were using. -
Yeah, they drop semi-frequently I got 4-5 pieces from PvP blue crates this week and last week.

I’m starting to agree with Fellow-Canadian on this after watching his video. I understand people to get sins nerf especially after their debatable state in 5.0. I felt the same way after Scoundrel was nerfed in 1.0 and the removal of Shoot First in 3.0 (also RIP Flechette Shot animation). Despite obvious bias for Scoundrel on my part, the nerf was needed. It seems reasonable that he’s asking for sins not to obliterate more than half your health in a few GCDs without skill and in return you half to play perfectly to avoid it. If we’re seriously arguing on this then I feel like 6.0 is going to be the age of power creeps. -

This. Most ranked pvpers are in Unranked right now. The only reason to play preseason is if you’re still farming for Ranked tokens or practicing on a new toon. Even then practicing in Unranked is somewhat less better but better nonetheless.

Agreeing to loot rules isn’t going to solve anything though. What’s stopping a person to just agreeing with it and then ninja looting it? Nothing. Thankfully, most people are kind enough to realize their mistake and trade you the tactical back.

Nobody goes on the forum because outside of complaining there is nothing interesting enough. And to answer the original question to the post: Scoundrel, loved the class Tory better than the Imperial Agent and the rest. Smuggler is the one of the only classes which got less static as it went on while still providing funny dialogue options. Smuggler’s crew is also, in my opinion, one of the best companion crew alongside BH. -
I know a lot of people on Star Forge aren’t queueing ranked because they’re busy actually farming for gear and amplifiers. So you know, people don’t get stomped on when Ranked S12 rolls out. More Ranked players are actually playing regs.

6.0 Expansion. Huge dissapointment.

The game, the developer, and the players themselves have you notice way back into 5.10 to 6.0 that those companions would be be coming back. There were a lot of obvious hints that were given in the Observer quest. Like their lightsabers being the one they originally had. Hell, even in the cutscene devs made it obvious by that companion igniting his lightsaber. Everyone knew full well that they would come back in 6.0 one way or another. -
Guardian is definitely a winner with the thrust, thrust, thrust spam.

Scoundrel is still a burst class. The literally just added a tactical that improves your DPS by keeping a DoT up that you can basically ignore and get greater DPS. We got better healing, we got better defense, we got better damage. I don’t know what game you’re playing because it’s definitely not this one. I have all three tacticals on the two DPS specs and regularly swapped between them and parsed each thoroughly. Who cares if you’re not an imminent threat. That’s good! You still do more damage than 6/8 or of the classes. Im outdpsing DoT specs on my Scrapper. You’re acting like they took something away from the class when they didn’t.

Sin is probably going to get a nerf because they are a few paces short of being pre-nerf OP Scoundrels. So comparing them with us isn’t going to cut it for me. Along with the swap-on-stealth. Every class got their useless tactical or heavily situational one. You saying Acid Lash sucks shows you’re not paying attention to what the tacticals do. Acid Lash basically makes you in a hybrid monster. You have enough DPS to rival Ruffian in PvE DPS. And the constant FAST ticking DoTs combined with Vital Shot means no downtime on DPS in PvP or PvE. Again, you’re sacrificing increased damage for more mobility and healing. You’re supposed to be an annoyance. And again pay attention to the tacticals. Cause you clearly didn’t read them. With Volatile Strike Bludgeon will automatically crit if you have an unexplored Blood Boiler and then make the Next Back Blast automatically crit. Unless you’re complaining about Catalyzed Toxins we have nothing to discuss here. The 2 Stunlocks are meh in my opinion and I didn’t get the fuss about it when it came out. I would rather keep more DPS because that actually wins fights. This is clearly an L2P issue.

They’re are hitting for almost 100k which about half your health bar. And we’re not talking about predictable Aimed Shots or slow moving Demo Rounds. They’re almost to the point that 1.0 Scoundrels were at. -

I could see them nerfing stealth-outs in PvP or adding a debuff that prevents you from swapping tactical once you remove them. -

“Play the way you want” is taken away from “You can play the way you want but the way you play isn’t always going to be effective”. MMOs tend to cut out most of that part. In 6.0 you can play the way you want, but the way you play isn’t always going to be effective. Even though it’s slow, you can still gain a full 306 from PvPing, GSF, or whatever.
