I wouldn't worry too much about other games. The weather is getting nicer outside so more people may be spending more time away from their computers. I think the current business model is working as intended, but can be improved. There's always going to be a new game to play, but you can always come back to this one if and when you feel like it.

When is the Rakghoul event coming back?!
Uncle_Robo replied to lintonlisa's topic in General Discussion
Starting planet players cannot buy relics since players must be level 15 to participate in the event. And you cannot buy the relics unless you have grinded some reputation. -
When is the Rakghoul event coming back?!
Uncle_Robo replied to lintonlisa's topic in General Discussion
This can't be done due to the cost of the vaccine being out of reach for new players. They might be able to buy one vaccine, but once they die, they can't afford another. -
When is the Rakghoul event coming back?!

Halloween would be a good time. -
Cool, another double XP weekend. I never seem to level as much as I had planned beforehand. Load up on those boosts and gear!

Elaborate Scam or honest mistake?
Uncle_Robo replied to AbsolutGrndZero's topic in General Discussion
There's nothing elaborate about this scam, the "trader" and gtn seller are one and the same. Its a simple trick to have you buy his overpriced gtn item. Never ever do a transaction where you have to buy something from the gtn, make it an all credits transaction and tell the person to buy the item off gtn themselves. -
Most definitely, I have to wait for the weekly reset to turn in to avoid losing commendations. Now I try to just do the weekly boss on ops since a full run will result in too many elites. This and the mission log cap needs to be raised.

Standardize the population status across all servers.
Uncle_Robo replied to illgot's topic in General Discussion
Actually, Fleet population and GTN listings are a good proxy for determining server activity and population. I play all servers so I know this to be true. The reason illgot is upset is because illgot assumed all servers were standardized, and with BC having "Heavy" status more often than other servers, illgot concluded that BC should have the highest population. However, anyone that logs into BC and compares it with other servers, can plainly see that BC does not have the highest server population and/or activity. So the servers may be set up something like this: PVE ServerX (30 total servers...status changes every 10 servers that are at full capacity) Becomes Light at 1-10, Standard at 11-20, Heavy at 21-30. BC Server (9 total servers...status changes every 3 servers that are at full capacity) Becomes Light at 1-3, Standard at 4-6, Heavy at 7-9. So even though BC servers may be at "Standard" status, BC's population may be less than PVE ServerX's "Light" population. The reason servers would be set up this way is because BC has only a fraction of PVE ServerX's population and would not require the same amount of servers. -
everyone looks forward to buying cartel coins now?
Uncle_Robo replied to Cathest's topic in General Discussion
No one is forced to buy anything from the cartel store. You can play the entire game without ever making a cartel purchase. But just because you may choose to do so, does not mean others should not have that choice or option. -
The most populated servers are the Pve servers, with Harbinger being the most populated on the West Coast and Jedi Covenant on the East Coast. A good indication of server activity and population are the server forums where thread counts can tell you how busy particular servers are. Torstatus does not track population numbers, they only track when servers change status. You can not assume or guess population trends without knowing if physical servers are being added, removed, or stayed the same.

Are listed server populations accurate? Developer comment?
Uncle_Robo replied to illgot's topic in General Discussion
I believe different server types (pve, pvp,rp) have different thresholds on when a server changes status from "light" to "standard" to " heavy". The pve servers have the highest populations, so it would take a higher number of players for those servers to change status. This is most likely because there are more physical server computers dedicated to those pve servers, than pvp servers or rp servers. Since non pve servers have less capacity for player populations, they change status more often and with smaller population changes -
Finding items on the Galactic Trade Network
Uncle_Robo replied to aeleric's topic in General Discussion
Set the rarity to "Standard". -
There is no limit to how many escrow unlocks you can stack. You are only limited by the amount of credits in your escrow.

Completed bounty contracts are now sold on the GTN, so you get started on those Kingpins right away when the event begins.

Actually, if playing a tank or healer for flashpoints rewarded double the usual commendations, it would somewhat make up for the general bad behavior, disrespect, and failure to follow instructions of non-tank/healer players. Sure, more dps would queue as fake tanks and fake healers, but if the other 3 players are competent, that faker can be booted and the flashpoint completed with a companion tank or healer.

Hey Bioware! Give us a sale on unlocking collections! Cartel items go on sale, why not collections unlock? Provide us with advance notice, and don't make it one of those random one hour windows where if you missed it, you missed it.
-
No, they are temporary. Once used, the caps go back into effect.
-
This is the only way f2p/preferred players can spend millions of credits to get that mount, armor set, or unlock. It is inconvenient, but at least the option is there to use. Its one more reason to sub or stay subbed.
-
Yes, you can stack them. I have done so as a preferred player.

I think what may help would be transparent queues. If everyone could see what roles are needed to get the instant pop, you can log off and log into an alt to fill the needed role.

What US server is the most heavily populated?
Uncle_Robo replied to meierme's topic in General Discussion
That site you are referring to, shows which servers reach "Heavy" status the most often. However, this does NOT reflect actual population numbers. All you have to do is log into both servers and compare the population. You will find Harbinger will have a HIGHER population than BC even though BC has "Heavy" status and Harbinger is only at "Standard". I have been tricked into playing BC once it reaches "Heavy" status, only to log out and log into Harbinger to find a higher population on Harbinger even though Harbinger is still at "standard' status. Another good indication of population is GTN listings. Compare the two, and you will find Harbinger has more listings with more competitive prices. -
What US server is the most heavily populated?
Uncle_Robo replied to meierme's topic in General Discussion
I play all US servers and the most populated one is Harbinger. BC gets "Heavy" status faster and more often because it takes less players to reach that status, and NOT because it has the highest population. PVP servers tend to be less populated than PVE ones. -
I may change servers and come to this one... advices?
Uncle_Robo replied to Haggardbr's topic in The Shadowlands
My advice would be to level a toon on several different servers and see for yourself. Head to fleet as soon as you are able, to check out activity and population. My personal observation has been that this is the third most populated NA PVE server, and is the most stable server in terms of lag and latency.
