  1. Watched 2 hours of the stream, really enjoyed it. Hope Towelliee will stream swtor a bit more often.
  2. Assassins are way overpowered. They always crush me on my shadow. Also, nerf all the other classes plz!
  3. Hi there! Inspired by a beloved topic from another forum, I am starting this thread where everyone can report their daily experience in the game. Let's see if it pick up To give you a feeling, I will post my report first. Yesterday, I continued my slow levelling of the scoundrel/scrapper with the Advanced Slicer armor on Hoth. I was excited to find out you can get your own Tauntaun there and that it is relatively cheap, picked up some food for baby tauntauns, looked up a guide on Dulfy and set out. Besides feeding Tauntauns, I did some planetary quests, helping the Republic fight the cold and its enemies back. Luckily, in the afternoon a second instance on Hoth opened, so getting a Tauntaun was easier. In order to not have to wait for respawn times at the Tauntaun nests and get some comms, I queued for a flashpoint and got an instant pop (as a dps, this has not happened to me yet, I believe!). It was the Maelstrom prison, one of my favorite flashpoints, which I was almost overlevelled for with my lvl 43. The fp was in progress, so I jumped in. The group was only like 5 minutes into fp. It was a guardian tank, commando healer and gunslinger dps. Me and the commando were overgeared, the tank and gunslinger slightly undergeared. First question on me: "Are you a dps?" Me: "Sure" Answer: ":D" I can only guess who my predecessor was. Anyway, we progress. The tank melts pretty fast on many pulls and all of us pull aggro from them, but overall everything is ok, nobody complains. On the first boss (the giant robot), the gunslinger dies (obviously first time in the fp), but only laughs about it. We continue to the boss with implants, where the tank dies to him, but we kill him and again, nobody complains. At one point, we skip a group using my "smuggle" ability and two group member comment on how cool that is. On one of the sith bosses, two group members die, but again, noone complains. After killing the final moff, a cunning chestpiece drops and I "greed" it, as it is no upgrade for me. As there were more cunning drops in the fp and the gunslinger needed on them (it was an upgrade for him in each case), they probably feel guilty and greed as well. I get it and they ask very politely if they could get it for mods. I trade it. In the final conversation with Revan, I comment that my smuggler's feeling says that we probably should not let him out of prison, as I believe he will start amassing a huge army to destroy everything in no time. Everyone laughs and we continue chatting. After that, everyone thanks for the group and adds that it was a really nice experience. Anyway, I get back to Hoth on my hunt for a Tauntaun. I do one more KDY later on and it takes me something like 4 hours, including some questing, KDY and the Maelstrom flashpoint, to get my own Tauntaun (I guess that you really need to do it on the weekend when there are 2 instances on Hoth). I really love it and cannot believe that it is my 4th character going through the planet and I have never noticed you can get it there!
  4. I definitely agree with the statements that some silvers pose a much larger challenge after the update. I also agree it is not all silver mobs, but just some of them. In leveling of my 40-50 characters, I apply the following strategy: Instead of killing the weak mobs first and focusing the silver ones later, I start with the silver one and try to burst him down asap. After that, I focus on the weaker mobs. This results in lower loss of health. Also, I am usually overlevelled for the planetary content, and usually decently geared (definitely overgeared for the content). My companions, however, usually get only their greens from the planetary quests, which means they are geared in greens of the same level as the content. After the update, however, they started to lose too much health in each fight. Hence, I used some comms and credits to upgrade their armor so that they are overgeared for the content as well. After that, the silver mobs are a breeze. I am not sure, however, that this is intended. Should the companions really need to be overgeared in order to survive the fights they are overlevelled for already? I do not think so.
  5. Nothing new on this topic as far as I know. I do not think that anything will happen in that regard, as I assume the change in the game code would be rather demanding. As the devs stated that changing the code is actually quite demanding, even if it is simple things, I guess this is not on the list. However, I would personally really love having the option to go from republic to the empire and vice versa, even if at level 60.
  6. I played some pvp with my 42 lvl scoundrel today. I was bolstered to 33k health, while heaving some 4-6 level outdated gear. After I got to lvl 43, I fully updated my gear and did some pvp again. I was bolstered to 35k. Needless to say, there were people at or above 55 bolstered to over 45k health on a regular basis. (Moreover, there were plenty of obvious pre-mades. 3 out of 5 games I played today were a complete disaster, worst pvp matches I have ever played. Hopefully things will get better after a couple of weeks, but the bolster needs to be fixed by the devs.)
  7. Can you please tell me the name of the hat AND assure me I can get it on my scoundrel?
  8. I have the feeling all the mobs do more dmg, flashpoints or not. Especially some of the silver ones.
  9. I took my scrapper, lvl 40, to a pvp match yesterday. Got an arena with a couple of 55s. After unstealthing, I got focused and destroyed within 3 seconds. I am not complaining, though, as this is just temporary. Just found it funny.
  10. This is nothing in comparison to the trooper's cutscenes, especially if you are playing commando. You storm the place with a pistol in your hand, and threathen the enemy. The enemy calls reinforcements and you point your tiny pistol at them, while having a huge armor on you. For the whole time, there is a gigantic cannon on your back. It just looks riddiculous. I do not think it has anything to do with the operatives should have had a pistol originaly. I just think it is laziness.
  11. I play the vanguard variant of this and I fully confirm everything stated in this post. Except for the blaster rifle aspect, as I already do have it.
  12. Or maybe it is the case that all the mobs in the game now do a surprisingly high amount of dmg?
  13. I heard he is a secret weapon to defeat the emperor. In the next expansions, the characters' stories will be insignificant, as he will be doing all the cool fights.
  14. I feel ok with the new talent trees. I do not take it as a positive change, but my 40 lvl scrapper feels similar and my 49 lvl vanguard's dps seems similar. However, I am not liking the drop of survavilability on both characters. I am usually overlevelled and overgeared for the planetary content I am doing, but my tanking comps go down really fast even when fighting ordinary mobs. Today, I even died on my vanguard because of not paying too much attention. My vanguard, even though he was dps, used to feel like a small fortress, for which I gave up a bit of dps. Now I need to heal after each fight. The goal of the update was to make mobs under lvl 50 weaker (see the patchnotes). Well, it feels more like they remained the same, but my armor values halved. Having to re-buy some abilities was not a nice surprise as well. Btw., the new top gear for the republic still lacks the cool factor, much unlike the new imperial gear. But no surprise there. Overall, I am ok with the update, and I welcome the possibility to do some fp's alone, even though I play group flashpoints very often.
  15. If I understand it correctly if I do not buy the expansion, I will be stuck at level 55 forever (or at least until I get it, which will probably take a while). I have a couple of questions, I hope someone will be able to help me answering them. What is the best gear I can buy for the basic comms without expansion and where can I buy it? I assume I will be able to do level 50 hard flashpoints, but what about 55 (from the gearing point of view)? Or did it change and they are now level 60? And these flashpoints, will they give me gear I will not be able to buy for my basic comms?
  16. The NPCs... To be honest, I was pretty disappointed with my stronghold. You can place there a couple of NPCs, but they will just stand there. Why no soldiers patrolling around? Why no companions dancing at the bar after sleeping in the bed? Why no cleaning droid, driving around and saying something about how fast the place gets messy? Why no soldiers saluting you after coming and saying: "Welcome home, sir!" ? Why no TV with the news on, reporting about the latest development of the galaxy conflicts? The place just feels empty, even if it is full of stuff.
  17. Completely agree. It bothers me to the degree that I really cannot enjoy the trooper story. You are being told that you are the Havoc squad, but you are no squad. While with all the other classes their achievements go to the character, the trooper himself in the story feels "weaker", because all the achievements go to the whole squad, regardless there was just you and one sidekick. Like you destroy this huge robot on your own? "Havoc squad, battle formation!" And I just facepalm. Moreover, the trooper story is just about finding members of the previous Havoc squad, ONE BY ONE (see chapter 1). After that, the most elite squad of the republic flies from a planet to a planet and picks up the rest of the members, ONE BY ONE (see chapter 2), in order to have one cool, but really short mission at the end (see final of chapter 2). Chapter 3 does not really make it better, you still do not feel like you are the most elite squad in the republic. Why are the planet class missions so dumb? Some missions inbetween feel right for a Havoc squad, but the rest too much. The concept of a squad just does not fit the MMO with one companion. Pushing it into it was a mistake, imho.
  18. Ghost'buster (for professional paranormal investigation and eliminations)
  19. Today's KDY. Everyone zones in, but the Juggernaut does not join the conversation. We wait, write in chat, no response. I have a closer look at him. He is bolsered to only 25k health, which gives me the first clue there might be something wrong with his gear. He is level 31. All of the equipment he has is green quality. He has no headgear, relics or implants. He has level 13 cunning breastpiece. He has level 11 willpower vibrosword. The rest I do not recall. I know most of it was maximum level 15 and there actually was one or two pieces of strength gear. We had to kick him, as he was neither responding nor did he join the conversation.
  20. Mostly Heroics, always people who you carry through it, because they are underlevelled / undergeared (mostly both) and / or cannot play their class. You: "Ty for the group." They: "np" or "ur welcome" ...and you just think that if you were able to bring a second companion instead, he would be able to do a better job than this person.
  21. Today, I had the ideal KDY group. We were 3 dps (me guardian, commando and gunslinger) and a sage healer. Commando says he has never done it before. I say don't worry, until the last boss it is just "zerg style". Well, I was wrong. The first scenario was the one with the puzzle. While we run into the big room with the many consols and clean some droids, I start getting the boxes for the bonus. In the meantime, one of my teammates pulls a group of enemies from one corner of the room (4 standards and 2 silver, if I am not mistaken), while another one pulls the bonus boss in the opposite corner. I am like ***? Brief moment of confusion and I pull another group of enemies while trying to get to the boss (this was obviously my fault). So it is 2 groups of enemies plus the boss, everything running around. I die, res and run back. I come to the room and the commando dies. I try to start killing the weak ones, commando, as it is his first time, does not even res and is just waiting for what is gonna happen. I write "res and come!", while trying to smash everything. Somehow, we survive (the fact that there were also turrets in those groups of mobs that could not follow us helped). The rest of the flashpoint goes pretty much in the same crazy tone. The sage healer is not healing, but is using force wave on cooldown, the commando dps is healing and the gunslinger is running ahead and pulling even in cases when the rest of us are not even close to him. But hey, it is KDY, so we easily make it to the boss. It is the leutenant Krupp, the one who throws grenades at you. As I know the commando is new, I start explaining the boss as well as the colto stations. He says ok after every sentence, but before I am done, the gunslinger pulls. So I jump in and start smashing, The boss throws his grenades and I am running to the terminal to save myself. I also write in the chat "now" and "run". Nevermind, only me and the sage are interested in not taking dmg. The rest of the fight is always the same. When the boss throws his grenades, me and the maximum of two of my teammates are running to safety, one of them always stays outside, no matter what. Force waves are hitting the adds like crazy and nobody has a clue what they are doing. The boss throws his grenades once more. I am in the middle of master strike, I am a bit late on running to safety. I make it in the last second, but then I notice that none of the two teammates already waiting there pushed the console. I die. Res, run back, start smashing. Nevertheless, it is KDY. So we make it without wiping. And I am like... Seriously? Well, if even such a group can make it through so easily, then I just do not know.
  22. 1) First, the outfits of every class are just so much better on the Empire side. Sage's outfits? Ridiculous. Smugglers with their "medium armor" which actually looks like cotton jackets. Also the combat effects on the Empire side just prevail (I am getting sick when I see my guardian running with the lightsaber). 2) The class stories! The class stories on the Empire side are just so much better. As a smuggler, I had constantly the feeling that I am being pushed into something that I did not sign up for. Also, I never had the feeling I was actually smuggling something. Not talking about the trooper's havoc squad (WHERE IS THE SQUAD, I ask. It is Havoc Duo with the rest being lazy on the ship except for once single quest. When I hear my trooper saying? "Havoc squad assualt formation" and there is a single companion, I consider it just a bad joke. Also, they do not care about the ops security at all. Everywhere they come, first thing they say is: "Hallo, Havoc squad here!"). The knight has a story you would expect, no complaints there. And the consular's first act is just so weak... 3) The light side and dark side decisions - I have the feeling that the Empire side lets you form your character better through such decision. 4) Companions - both sides have some awesome companions but in general, I think the Empire has cooler crews. On my trooper, I did not really like anyone else than 4X. The same problem I had on my consular. 5) Planet quests. This is my huge problem with the Empire side. I like the light-sided paths of the Empire characters, but once I start some of the planet quests, I have the feeling that the character of the toon I had in mind is falling apart. While on the Republic side I am protecting people, on the Empire side I am trying to kill innocent people. And my light-sided toon is just falling apart. Some of the stuff just does not make sense at all. Black Talon, for example. There is this young innocent padawan. If I could just defeat her but let her live. But no, she needs to die. And then - taking the general into custody is a light side option? I do not think so. So all in all, the light side Empire probably wins for me. But then I start doing the quests not in the class story and my light sided character just starts feeling like a mass murderer. That is why I ALWAYS end up on the Republic side.
  23. Lol. Seriously, do us a favor and do all the flashpoints solo, if you think you can. I do no think anyone wants to do flaspoints with people having your attitude.
  24. Last time I checked, no reply in the chat despite speaking the language always means being rude. Especially after you let someone wait for you for 10 minutes. As for the rest of your post... I am not sure we read the same slafko's post, because I cannot see the things you described in that post.
  25. So something like a month ago I returned to swtor from a break and saw these new tactical flashpoints. I was reading about them something before and thought: Oh, cool, now I will not need to wait for ages on my dps to get one. So I took my sage dps, which was under level 20 I think and click KDY. Immediately, I get a group and zone in. We have a tank guardian, two other unknown dps and no healer. The tank immediately says: "Sage you are the only one with healing abilities, you will heal." I thought that the tactical flashpoints are not class-specific, but as I am the noob there, I just assume they know what they are doing and go with it. So the group starts zerging through the trash and I dps, as I am dps, and everything goes well. But no, no one stops between the fights, even if the tank is on pretty low health all the time (). So I start healing and all my force goes through the window. They still do not stop, so I have only limited time to get it back. We finally make it to one of the minibosses. I cannot regain my force and the tank jumps in. They did not pause before it and everything goes so fast that I have basically no idea what is happening. So these minibosses... I played a lot my vanguard dps recently and we usually had no tank, so I was tanking the boss most of the times. So I know now that if the group is really good, we kill him without any heal needed. If the group is normal, someone needs to heal me a bit (I even had this one amazing group once, where we were 4 dps and I was tanking the boss for the whole time. They killed him exactly 3 secs after I died. All of them were at 100 % HP and none of them even considered off-healing me a bit...). So here we go, I am on my dps sage with like 50 % force and the tank jumps in. He immediately starts screaming: "HEAL FFS". So I start healing, but he goes down so fast that I cannot do anything else than that. I have no force after a short time, so til the end I only spam noble sacrifice and heal. And wow, did the fight take ages! At the end, I am at 20 % of my health and the tank at 40 %. Finally, we make it to the last boss. It is the big robot who calls in adds that need to be killed. Before I can even ask about the fight (I do not even know what the consoles are for), the tank jumps in. I start healing, dps's dps. Then the ads come and no one is killing them. I wonder about the strategy and try to start killing them. It is surprisingly easy and I do not need to heal so much after they are dead. But as I am the only one killing them and I try to heal in between as well, everything goes south and we wipe. Then the tank quits, without saying anything. We get a new member fast, another tank guardian. He comes in, jumps in and starts fighting. I understood the consoles a bit now and take down the adds now immediately when they come. Still, the fight takes bloody ages, even if the two dps focus only on the boss and very rarely fight the adds. The tank asks: "Guys are you doing any dps at all??" Well now I know what the problem might be... When the other dps's try to kill the adds (again, not really often), they take pretty long to do that, while I was really suprised how fast I can kill them. We eventually kill the boss. Still thinking that dps with healing abilities need to heal through the whole fp even on the trash, based on my terrible experience I stay away from KDY for a while. After that, I started getting normal groups and found out how easy the fp really is. Before that I just thought I was the weak part of the group, I but now I know a bit better. Sorry about my stories being so long, I somehow suck in writing things shortly
